mikejh45
Robbie Fowler's contract runs out in January and Grimsby are interested. Now bearing in mind the situation with Hughesy, is Fowler at 38 worth a short term punt? The guy is obviously fit enough for Blackburn to give him a contract at the start of this season and he is still hungry.
beag_teeets
He wouldn't have to buy a house in the area either.

I saw this, and thought the same, then though Nahhhhh, he is old and crocked then thought... Hmmmm, may be worth a shot, then thought Nahhhhhh, so I think my final thoughts on it are.... ... if we are short of options, a cheeky pay as you play deal for 6 months could be an option* *Nahhhh Edited December 2, 2008 by BigfinLatic
Frankly Mr Shankly
From another forum I go on, from a Cardiff fan... Robbie Fowler, well there's a moneygrabbing evil little bastard . 25k a week,16 games, never lasted 90 minutes,6 goals,i think most were pens, out on the town pissed up most weekends, could'nt run more than 10 yards, bright red cheeks, puffing like Thomas The Tank Engine, and walking round with his hands on hips trying to get his breath back. Yes we sold 8,000 shirts,so that payed his wages for a month, but he really is shot to pieces.Every week we were told by Dave Jones that he looks sharp in training which has become a running joke on the CCFC messageboards, funnily enough Ince has said exactly the same thing. I would say the odds on him joining you are high, the odds on him leaving within 6 months even higher. In short; Puffy.
futchers briefs
Fowler... Apparantly the "fishy people" and Shrewsbury believe they may sign him....if they're daft enough, let 'em!
jsslatic
He'll do well at Grimsby...with football gods such as JPK and Da Bosh threading the through balls to him he can't fail to score every game.
leeslover
Why does he bother? If he just wants a run about then play Sunday League or something. How excited is he going to get playing for Grimsby for a few grand?

OldhamSheridan
Jesus Christ, Cardiff shirts are £12.50?
Diego_Sideburns
This reminds me of when Ian Rush signed for Wrexham. He thought he'd opened his scoring in the Isle of Man pre-season tournament, but it was offside. He never recovered from that disappointment and went all season without scoring! What odds would you have got on that?
footy68
Robert Bernard 'Robbie' Fowler, (born 9 April 1975 in Toxteth, Liverpool, Merseyside) is an English footballer who plays for Premier League side Blackburn Rovers. He is the fourth-highest goalscorer in the history of the Premier League. Not 38, quite, but deffo no. An odd thing has just happened. I was listening to The Prodigy on my Ipod and Charly came on......goodness knows what the connection is to this thread.
