Matt
Ooops, something went wrong somewhere. From the BBC predictor; I updated after I entered the last result on May 2nd and didn't look at the table whilst I was going through the fixtures so I wasn't biased, and I have tried to be as honest as possible. Don't ask for the scores I can't remember them! I'll have another go some other time... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...tor/default.stm
Lags
Without bucking our current trend Rummy, Latics position may well be quite near. I am not sure the signing of Danny Jones alone may solve our current form. One things for sure, Shez shouldn't need a good team talk anymore, the players themselves should be hearing the alarm bells. MaskedOwl
We need a good run at the end of the season so that we can continue that into the play offs. I can't see any better than that.

oafc_ok
Bloody Hell, Bin Dippers to finish in the play-offs (something has gone badly wrong there). Especially as I'd want them to win the Play Off Semi against Franchise. Follow that up with a Leeds v Tranmere play-off Final and I'll actually want Tranmere promoted - unthinkable! Matt
Aye - like I said, I tried to be unbiased about the results - perhaps the signings (or lack of) may have some impact on some teams and not on others. I dunno - I'll give it another 5 or 6 games and I'll have another go...

Lags, I know we shipped a bagfull at Hereford and a couple against Scunny, but I think our problems of late have come from not being able to get goals ourselves. The deficiencies in midfield are well documented, but I do think, or hope at least that the addition of DJ will help bring Taylor somewhere back to his best form and ultimately improve the service to our front two. Well, fingers crossed
Matt
So that would mean only another twenty points won from the last seventeen games.... shome mishtake shurely? Please don't let it be so I know, shockingly (taking into account our form from the last 10 games) our average points haul from now until the end of the season adds only 23 points to our current total. Which would put us tantalisingly close given the above model, but ultimately no cigar.

Hometownclub
Thats only 5 wins between now and the end of the season. Quite frankly if we only win 5 from 17 we wont deserve to be in the play-offs IMO.
Frankly Mr Shankly
I can't get past 23 points, what d'y think? Is it just me? Funnily enough, I had "about tenth" in my head when I read the title of this post. I think it's about right, and clearly shows we need to up a gear or two to keep us in the top 6. Our form for the last 2 or 3 months is decidedly mid-table form and as Dan says in another thread; it's more our lack of goals rather than defensive problems. So, how to "up a gear" then? Well, we simply have to turn those frustrating draws into wins post haste. Having seen what has transpired in the window, I'm not knocking Jones or anything, but the form we've been in since he's been with us hasn't improved us results-wise; simple as. Hughes keeps his ratio nicely, but it's clear our loan signings in Byfield and Ormerod just didn't keep their part of the bargain. Windass just about has in assists, but not goals and we need him to start firing quickly. Rummy - I noticed in your predictions, you've typically given us nil points against top 6 sides on the whole. This is going against the grain somewhat, given we raise our game against the likes of these. That said, if you add 5 or 6 points for that, then it may just give us enough points to sneak in. That will be some finish to the season if the top 4 all end up with 90+ points, even Leeds with 87 in 6th??? Leicester could quite possibly get 100+ points but there is no way 4th will have 91 and 6th 87.

Frankly Mr Shankly
I've gone for the following Latics results... Leicester City v Oldham Athletic ..........3 Oldham Athletic v Northampton Town....1 Yeovil Town v Oldham Athletic..............1 Millwall v Oldham Athletic.....................0 Oldham Athletic v Leeds United.............3 Oldham Athletic v Colchester United......0 MK Dons v Oldham Athletic...................0 Oldham Athletic v Tranmere Rovers.......3 Cheltenham Town v Oldham Athletic......3 Leyton Orient v Oldham Athletic.............1 Oldham Athletic v Peterborough United...1 Carlisle United v Oldham Athletic...........1 Oldham Athletic v Crewe Alexandra.......3 Brighton & H A v Oldham Athletic...........0 Oldham Athletic v Southend United.........3 Walsall v Oldham Athletic......................3 Oldham Athletic v Bristol Rovers............3 Which left the table looking like... With us cruelly missing out of the play offs. I also factored in some eyebrow-raising results concerning the top sides because I think this is why some are getting the top four all on over 97 points which simply ain't going to happen. It's clear Leicester will run away with it too, but still think they'll slip up occasionally (including against us!)
