wardlelatic
My aim is to get a child friendly gift from each club visited that can be given to the children at Oldham Hospital from and on the behalf of OAFC and its fans. I would like to raise over £2000 - thats on average of a £1 each from Owtb members alone. £500 + for Boundary Blue to help the kids get some better match day experience and maybe a room on matchdays. £350+ for a bench in honour of Ernie Cooksey at Tandle Hills were Latic fans can sit and enjoy the countryside while looking over Boundary Park... I know Ernie used to enjoy the club runs on Tandle Hills so this seems a fiiting way to remember him. The remaining money will be given to the club and a charity of the clubs choice! singe
Is there a current record for this sort of thing? It looks a great idea, be good if there was some sort of record to beat as well.
wardlelatic
And included Chester and Luton. Might be a year out of date. I have used last season clubs, I've been thinking about this trip for a while for charity..... I maybe able to swap the 2 clubs over Burton for Chester and Torquay for Luton.... After looking at this I cant see a record time in visiting each football club So the record would be ours to set ???? I have read that one group of fans did this in under 80 hours so that would be my target. I now have 8 people for this challenge, but thank you to everyone who volunteered. I'm hoping to have 2 cars sorted by Tuesday for the challenge but I still need someone to point me in the direction of a way to get the fuel sponsored, fuel card or knowing someone who works inMarketing for Shell or Esso??? I also will need some signwriting for the cars, so if anyone can help me with that let me know

LaticNik
Other thread has been locked so will post here. Forgive my ignorance but with you all taking the Ernie Flag to 92 grounds in a few days why aren't you raising money for Factor 50? It was stated that the "Ernie funds", whatever they are, will not be going to F50. Again, why not? Rather than an Arthur Fowler bench, why's the £350 not going towards...wait for it...F50? Guys, a terminal disease killed the lad. A disease that could strike any of us down. The profile needs raising, which is what F50 does. A bench won't. Apologies guys but I really don't see the point, and need, for taking the flag with you if you're not raising awareness and money to help combat the disease that killed him. By taking the flag, by having it photographed at every ground, by having it talked about on Channel M, BBC, ITV, SSN and in the print and online media are not raising awareness? That's the the point. As for the choice of charity, I agree that choosing a charity set up in aid of a 16 year old girl who died of Leukemia (that's a cancer, keep up) was very wrong of us. Consider us told. And if you pump some of the raised funds into F50 then guys, you have my absolute backing!!! E4e FCT50

That's rather pathetic. If Factor50 is vitally important to you I assume you will be raising money for them. We, on the other hand, will be raising money for The Samantha Jones trust. I apologise if I seem angry, but I am. How rude are you? To come to us and say what we're doing is not good enough? Get stuffed.

Diego_Sideburns
An article about this event in todays rare but true Chronicle If you can please click on my signature and donate a few quid .. Thank you Good coverage in the rarely wrong Chron and good to see the raising of awareness about the threat of skin cancer gets a mention. I've been unable to use my laptop for over two weeks due to virus infection, so I'm not up to speed on anything except new signings. I might have been interested in taking part in this challenge if i'd known about it, but then again I was waiting for the date for the Shamrock Rovers v Real Madrid fixture, which now clashes with the challenge, although I'm not going to Dublin after all. Rick, I've sent you a PM about the donation. May I offer a suggestion that you invest in a couple of devices called The Alert Master for use by the drivers - the device fits over the right ear and detects momentary lapses caused by sleepiness and tiredness. Working on the principle of electronic balance, as the driver's head nods below a pre-set angle it emits a vibrating signal alerting the driver to take corrective action. Anyone who does a lot of driving, especially on away trips, might find this device very useful.

pdw76
Diego We are taking the driving responsibilities very seriously, we want to beat the record but our safety is paramount. I'll check out the devices you mention... they sound like a good idea. I'll be playing some Paul Simon/Phil Collins CD's which may help too.
