Oldham has a long tradition of "13" year old girls with beards

edited for accuracy

On the subject of heaters, we can't afford the electricity, so I'm told instead they'll be giving Greegs a bottle or two of Jack Daniels and asking him to breathe on the pitch...

It's not just a case of the pitch either...... in these days of Health and Safety it will probably be called off because it's not safe around the stadium too.

if its not safe around the stadium then thats down to the council, for failing to get off there arses and grit the roads, thats why we pay council tax aint it for council services,so considering there is a hospital next to us they should be out gritting and making it safe.....the club could ask for volunteers to help clear snow from carparks and terracings if need by,and with clearing snow from the pitch, schools have broken up and some lucky people have finished work for the year...just a thought like, could turn it into a good pr campaign for new marketing guy

Sadly, due to underfunding Councils are starting to add up potential law suits versus cost of gritting when setting up for a winter.

On the bright side it isn't as bad as the highways and mending of roads where they can't get near to catching up due to paying out pot hole related damages.

And that's the decent councils, not Oldham.

Have you ever walked across the car park to/from Broadway? The snow should help to fill in the cracks and potholes, thereby making it likely safer than without the snow!

Funnily enough, I was listening to something related to this on the radio yesterday, if the council do grit the pavements and somebody goes arse over tit then they are held liable for not doing a proper job, however if they don't grit and somebody tries doing a backwards somersault and fails it is then an act of God, but, surely they have a care of duty for public safety the same as employers providing employees and visitors a safe enviroment, not forgetting to take into account a care of duty by oneself, ie: RIDDOR, but to be told 'we are waiting for a delivery of salt'/ 'we used 80 bags yesterday'!!!

Sadly, due to underfunding spunking ever-increasing amounts of money on pointless idiotic projects and bloated salaries and pension schemes for lazy-arsed jobsworths (and statisticians) Councils are starting to add up potential law suits versus cost of gritting when setting up for a winter.

Corrected your typo for you

Pub car parks and your doorsteps are in exactly the same situation - if you grit/hot water your doorstep and the old dear falls, it'd be your fault!!

Your landlord of the local alehouse is likely to leave his car park iced up for the same reason - it's all a farce!!
