Simple.

Do the Cole's deserve the privacy that Cheryl has asked for?

The BBC report that Cheryl has asked for "the media to respect her privacy during this difficult time" and added "There's no such thing as a private life in this industry. "I spoke openly about my marriage in the past and it's come back to hit me in the face. I learnt from the past that you shouldn't do that."

The Cole's sold their wedding photos and as she implies above she's not exactly been private about her marriage.

For me, screw her. I have sympathy with celebrities who've never openly flaunted the media (players such as Scholes spring to mind) but if you've made money on something which is entirely your personal life you have given up the right to that personal life.

What about a "Don't know" option?

I was looking to make it more about a media-intrusion debate than specifically the Cole's - they just provide a neat case study.

The ruling on Terry's super-injuction threw it out on the basis that by widely flogging his and his marriage's image for enormous amounts of cash, his wife and him had effectively sold their privacy regarding things that touched so closely on said image. If that's the case for Terry then it sure is for Mr Cashley and Mrs Cashley, who seem to have earnt a living by her wearign or not wearing her ring and giving interviews every other day about it.

PS, I really don't care either. I despise him as maybe the worst example of the cynical modern player and I've not got a lot of time for what here and many like her do for music or popular culture though, so when I see their "suffering" which may well be part of the plan mind you) I won't always avoid glancing over and smiling.

Yes. She is one of the world's highest paid stars after arranging a marriage of convenience with a footballer to get them out of their respective sticky PR positions!

Bet she is crying into her pools of gold coins.

Good. Whilst I am more than content to sit here smiling at my copper, silver and the odd skin diver that crosses my greasy palm.

CHERYL PLANS GHASTLY, NOUVEAU RICHE DIVORCE

24-02-10

CHERYL Cole last night unveiled plans for a lavish and vulgar divorce involving lots of matching suits and a really big smoked salmon.

Cheryl has ordered a really elegant divorce cake from Thorntons

The nation's sweetheart announced her separation from some footballer yesterday followed by what experts described as an 'absolutely hilarious' request for privacy.

Prime minister Gordon Brown and Conservative leader David Cameron have both telephoned the singer and agreed to set up a cross-party commission to explore ways of helping her cope.

Meanwhile thousands of Guardian readers are today expected to make a rare visit to the websites of the Sun and the Daily Mirror in a bid to discover what the Cole split says about society.

Cheryl fan Wayne Hayes said: "I just feel so sad for her because her life has just been getting better and better since she knocked the :censored: out of that black woman in a nightclub toilet."

According to friends of the X-Factor judge the divorce negotiations will take place at a beautiful country house hotel in the Cotswolds, with guests including Christine Bleakley and Frank Lampard, selected cast members from The Bill and the Gary Linekers.

Cheryl's lawyers will be wearing matching Burberry tartan suits and bowler hats and will use their Burberry umbrellas to form an honour guard for Cheryl when she arrives wearing a beautiful Burberry two piece and carrying a £12,000 Prada bag full of Chewits.

For the issuing of the decree nisi the High Court in London will be decked out in beige roses and Burberry taffeta and the final terms of the divorce will be sang by Michael Bublé to the tune of R Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly.

The guests, including Sharon Osbourne, the cast of Ready, Steady Cook and the Gary Nevilles, will then each receive a glass of Cristal champagne and a deep fried prawn.

Celebrity marriage analyst Joanna Kramer said: "At the end of the day we must all remember that this is really about two lovely young people who were once very much in love and now have to face up to the emotional trauma of a failed relationship."

She added: "That actually sounded quite convincing didn't it? :censored: their privacy."

Do they deserve privacy? yes

will they get privacy? no

does she want privacy? are you mad? she hasnt had a good juicy story in magazines for ages! I think shes spending less time crying on her pillow than she is talking wityh her agent about the next batch of magazine deals

what are the bets that when this thing dies down she will anounce something else dramatic to thrust her back to the front pages of the magazines/newspapers?

It's like asking the same thing about the equally convincing marital affairs of Jordan and various blokes. I can't pay for a ready meal and 3 bottles of wine in the supermarket without seeing their private lives sold all over the place, sod them.

I think the most startling thing to come out of this is Leeslover's ratio of one ready meal to three bottles of wine, impressive work.

I met a young Ashley Cole in 2001 or maybe 2002, I told him then, "stay off the booze and away from the birds and that England left-back spot is yours for the next 10 years"

So Ashley, **does the Rikki Lake show head wobble and index finger movey thing** I told you. *Sits down smuggly**.

I've got a photo of me with him somewhere just after I've given him this advice and he is thinking "who the hell is this nutter".

He is a prize bellend for losing Cheryl though.

It was always gonna end badly wasnt it? theyre in the public eye too much and even if your the most faithful honest couple ever they will find something to ruin it for a few more paper sales,

dont like her anyway, never have, shes had it bad with him but shes a handful herself, shes arrogant, ignores fans who come to see her, attention and money grabbing, shes far from a saint, the only time she acts like one is in magazine interviews or on the tele because it wins her fans and thus more money

He was a prized bellend before he even got her!

Agreed, but to be honest if she looked any differently she wouldnt enjoy the success she has had, thats the only thing she really relies upon for her career, that and some mediocre singing (the other girls in her band are far better in my opinion)

shes not really a catch unless you go just on looks, but the thing is, looks are temporary, 20 years down the line things will head south and mr wrinkle will visit her and she will then be going the way of other's like her - in the background, makin way for the next cheryl cole

Oh, no doubt. She's a vacuous media whore who I would happily never see or hear from again.

Does that mean she's going to move to Wilmslow, shag taxi drivers and feed her 14 kids on turkey twizzlers?

(Best get my badge sorted... )
