FC United Newton Heath stadium plans confirmed

Honest question. Why are they a bunch of cocks?

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the likes of these and F.C Liverpool (or whatever they're called) just formed on a knee-jerk reaction of the repective American takeovers?

Fans are the only thing permanent about a football club, so surely the brains behind forming these teams realised that the set-up they were protesting against would never be permanent? If the set-up back at Old Trafford/Anfield becomes more agreeable, then surely these splinter clubs have been set up for no reason as the fans will simply return to their original club?

It seemed like toys out of pram time just because some fans disagreed with the hierachy. Surely these splinter clubs open the possibility that there may soon be a mass of semi-formed, abandoned clubs in the league, just because a few fans didn't like their original clubs owners (or maybe even managers, players, etc!).

For failing to grasp the simplest of notions about publicly owned companies when they were spouting their 'Manchester United Is Not For Sale' nonsense.

Of course it's for sale... it's floated on the stock exchange. You bunch of cocks.

Honestly.

Glad to see M/Cr council giving full backing to FC united plans - unlike Oldham council supporting their team !!!!!

Also , IF Oldham council can find land to swap with the Failsworth based charity trust land why can't Latics find that land and build on that ????

One of the advantages stated about Failsworth was the prospect of being able to target a wider audience from that neck of the woods - Not with FC United next door they wont.

The land we are building on is made up of both the charity land and land owned by BaE so I doubt any new land (which the charitable land would be swapped to) would be big enough.

Isn't there enough land to build a stadium on the BaE site without touching any memorial, charity or allotment land ?

With the announcement of the FC stadium it now makes Failsworth a definite no go. How can there be any money to be made by Latics with a sort of United offspring plonked right in the heart of their birthplace, with the BIFFO's only a mile away vying for the same business. What kind of business plan is that?

Well, for starters they paraded around like morons shouting 'Man Utds not for sale' despite it being a PLC and therefore being 'for sale' for quite a number of years. They then had the cheek to repeatedly mention their 'plight' in the same breathe as that of Wimbledon fans, meanwhile if you know any of these clowns you still see them down the pub with the rest of the glory hunters givin it large when the scummers beat some also rans at home in the greedy league. What a sickening bunch of twats.

Back to being the nob eh coco? Oldham Rugby aren't exactly a threat to the Latics, FC certainly could well be. Currently at Bury they don't quite have the draw but being back in the birthplace of the Redsox, that's certainly a different story.

With a 5000 (not all seater) capacity stadium. Plus 10 acre lane insn't exactly massive to allow them to expand then stadium

No ambition there then.

So our 10,000/12,000 stadium will have more than 5000 in the 4th division? Seating or Standing is irrelevant. They will be cutting their cloth accordingly and right exactly where their target market will be.

FSCUM will do :censored: all, this is city territory, they're all we have to worry about (and it's a big worry), FSCUM won't attract many new fans from that area and they are unlikely to continue up the leagues at any real pace, they're already stalling and gates are percentage wise going down faster than ours. I'm about as scared of FSCUM as I am excited about the Brentford game..........

OK it's City territory....You may be wrong, but because you said it I'll believe it. Just because City have their ground around the corner doesn't mean the Reds suddenly became City fans.

Surely the biggest danger in all this is not that FC United will become bigger than Latics, but that by having them there they are detracting potential local support and revenue. Within a few miles of each other we will have the Failsworth stadium with swanky corporate facilities and astroturf pitches, FC United with homely facilities and astroturf pitches and Wastelands sat amidst a plethora of gigantic corporate hotspots and with sporting facilities everywhere. All capping off the existing tennis and cycling facilities.

That represents a lot of people fishing for the same custom, and if it makes the club less profitable and the facilities less well patronised then we are looking at a loss of revenue. Hence FCUM's threat isn't the issue, but they are a distraction we don't need in an area where we would be trying to establish a following...
