shefflatic Posted July 5, 2011 Share Posted July 5, 2011 cisak seems a good signing from reports, mcdonald (burnley midfielder?) has excellent ability but has lost his way - maybe PD can rejuvinate him being scottish?! As for Brandy, really not sure - attitude? certainly has one by all accounts, ability- really an unknown; pace but not much else. I just wish we could shift feeney and get Cody Mac in on loan as the goal-getter supplemented by Reid, Smith. Fair play to him for getting fit, but as a pro that is to be expected at all clubs. No matter how well meant his intentions, we all know he will play the first 4 games, sod off with NI for a week then not get a look-in and be off by Xmas, so i suppose either way he will be gone soon enough. If he was that good an asset he would have featured far more for us than he did do when available even as a sub - i think PD knows he isnt the answer in a lot of ways and will use him only as back-up. He will work hard when on the pitch, granted; but ability wise he brings nothing ot the team that suggests he needs playing, unless you want a striker who backs into defenders all day looking for a free kick then yes he is your man. shefflatic Posted July 5, 2011 Share Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) one thing we did lack last season/do lack in fairness to Feeney et al, is a forward playing midfielder ala wellens. for all the hype, Stephens as the creative man rarely ever made a forward pass to get the forwards through - it always went wide and the to the forwards who had to come deep to hold it up due to the lack of central drive/invention; hence our terrible run from feb onwards. If Mcdonald can do this or Lee/another then we may just see feeney break his 3 year league drought (Assuming he is in the country to play for us). Another ? - Matt Richards from walsall, out of contract, got a few goals for them last season = don't know much about him generally but he looked competent when playing against us in April....?
