It looks like it's on the Latics car park and the same location as they were going to build flats and a health centre back in 2010. http://oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/8/news-headlines/38021/flats-and-health-centre-at-latics A quick archive search of the Chron reveals that the Hospital lease the car park from Latics ATM for staff. http://oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/8/news-headlines/59590/hospital-parking-hike-sparks-staff-reaction I'm left wondering if Latics will get much out of this, especially if the building is being used for offices as well, It may well ease the hospital's much rumoured requirement for office space in the new stand. Not as if any of the profits from the houses are going to benefit the club. Land deals are for the benefit of the owners surely not? This is obviously incorrect. This will also be a nail in the coffin for Latics being able to expand the ground in order to make it capable of surviving in the Championship. Capacity will never be aloud to go much over 13000 because of the lack of parking space. The new minute stand will also take away parking space behind it. Latics is a private limited company and so it's beneficiaries are its shareholders. If the shareholders own the land as well then tou can say that Latics potentially benefit. What no one can say is that Latics do not benefit without knowing the specific paper trail and intentions of the shareholders. We are not exactly going to be in the championship any time soon though and bringing in 13,000 each game. 13,000 - 15,000 is a big enough stadium for us. We don't want to be in a massive stadium and only filling 3% of it (Darlington, gates 1,600 with a 22,000 seater stadium). It's the same as it ever was - yes, the club owes G & B loads of money, that's lost cash for them as it stands as they would only be recovering it from themselves. Any income that comes in they could use to pay off the club's debts, whether that was from income direct to the club or by taking profit from Brassbank and giving it to Latics, but I just don't see why they would bother - or they could use it as personal profit, use it to fund a stand, use it to buy players or spend it down the bookies/down the Georgian/on the kitchen exension the missus wants/anything else. If you click on the link below and look at the first plan listed, you’ll see that the site is well away from BP up Sheepfoot Lane, next to Plumpton Clough at the rear of Carlton Way dwellings. http://planningpa.ol...DHA_DCAPR_47974 It’s the land which was to be the site of some of the apartments to be built under the previous planning application to finance a new North (Broadway) stand, submitted in March 2007 by the “owner” of the site Brassbank Ltd. Or leased it. In the meantime it was going to be the site of 140 key worker units and a health centre, but the planning application was never determined.
