Ritchierich
As it seems likely that today is the last time we will see Matt Derbyshire in a Latics shirt I just wanted to say thank you to him for providing what fans (of smaller clubs especially) really want........ 100% committment and effort in every game In an age where too many players make us love the game less and less it has been an absolute pleasure to watch a true professional giving it his all with a smile on his face. Thanks Matt and best wishes for the future to you and your family.

Bristolatic
True to form, the fishal has an action packed team news item. And I quote, in full (no mention of Debryshire) "Byrne wins Latics' recall"

jsslatic
Aye, if today turns out to be his last game for us then thank you and good luck, if he does sign for us again in January then he'll be very welcome back.
robboman
Someone should tweet him and his wife that post from Ritchierich to show how much he's appreciated at boundary park!
Jack Wight
Its a huge shame he couldn't finish with 3 points but a mssive thanks to him, and good luck to him in the future
rudemedic
+1 He's been our best loan signing for a while- been a credit to his profession.
disjointed
I should imagine most latics fans will agree with these comments, a true professional, and wherever he ends up playing in the new year we wish him all the best.
longtimeblue
Surprised me from the first game, runs, makes space works hard and is what is commonly known as an intelligent footballer; therefore, he'll suss out there's no need to be back here anytime soon. Shame, could see from the off he's got an aura about him.
opinions4u
The gap. His natural ability of 5'8" Derbyshire through the channels and intelligently timed near post runs. Vs The brainless hoof ball we've played for the majority of his stay. He could have delivered so much more than he did if the rest of them had been on his superior wavelength. stargazer
A tremendous credit to the management team bringing him here. He has looked a superb player and when the team have had their 'hot' games he has devoured the service. It has been a bonus to see him wear our colours , good luck for the future. leeslover
You couldn't ask much more from a loan signing. Hope he scores lots more goals and gives a lot more assists, and preferably in an Oldham shirt.
lancy lad
Thanks Matt, its a shame some of the other lazy bastards dont share your work ethic!
brad
Loved Matt Derbyshire's time at Oldham he's the definition of a true pro not like the modern ones. He always gave 100% even though it was hard for him to work with. Plus he did not pull a fit when he got pulled offside when he was not. Thank you Matt
al_bro
After his interview I thought he's not coming back, but the more I think about it I'm not so sure. He's reported to be on £16k pw. If that's right, then I can't see any club offering him even half that. He would be far better off staying at Forest and getting loaned out again. Unless another club comes in offering to pay more of his wages, then we surely have a great chance of him coming back.
