Break The Silence
If we are still in this league next season then I don't want Tarkowski in the team let alone captaining it. FFS ...

LaticsPete
Alan Williams (1961-65). I'll endorse that. Also a good nomination would be Ken Knighton (1966 /7) who was a classic captain leading by example and exhortation.
garcon
Clint Hill deserves a mention. A real leader of men. Gregan was in the same mould but not as good a footballer.
Lukers1
Wasn't here for long but Kevin Moore was a 'proper' captain , hard tackler , always organising & shouting. Most of them simply shake hands and guess heads or tails imo. I have to strongly dissagree, he was totally at fault for allowing that :censored:er Edwards equalise for Leeds just after Ces had but us 2.0 in the Playoffs against Leeds. Break The Silence
I've been going to Latics since '89 and, for sheer leading by example and leadership qualities on the pitch, it has to be Sean Gregan for me. Not even close.
Zorrro
Milligan or Duxbury Everyone else.
oafcprozac
Who's the worst? Nick Henry wasn't the same player after being given the arm band. Dean Holden flicking the Vs at his own fanstook some beating after an abject display at Hull
Lukers1
Darron McDonough? Not sure he was captain He was when I was mascot against Hull in the 1985 - 86 season, he was the captain upto the time he left to join Luton at the end of that season. Lukers1
Morore was to blame for the goal......this does not make him a bad captain , all players make mistakes . If Kevin Moore wasnt dancing around the touchline like a lune after Edwards had scored we would have won the game. A proper captain would have got into position, settled the team and play out the final 10 seconds, it was his man Edwards who scored the goal. He was to blame, he was the captain and should have led by example, he was still celebrating when that :censored:er Edwards shot bobbled about 15 times into an empty net.
