Scapegoat
I recall Andy Barlow having the effectionate nickname of "Deirdre" during the Joe Royle era, and Lewis Alessanda was known as "Alice" by myself and a few of my mates. I am sure that there have been a few more over the years but cannot recall them at the moment. Anyone have any recollections? Also - any suggestions for the current crop? Diego_Sideburns
I recall...Lewis Alessanda was known as "Alice" by myself and a few of my mates. Fact of the day: Plymouth have never lost when "Alice" has scored.
Scapegoat
Winchester is known as "Winnie" Excellent. You could think of the bear, but the subject of Fred Savage's character in The Wonder Years gives Winne suitable qualification. Anymore? Particularly past players - I am sure there was another one post Andy Barlow that was quite well used...but the old brain cannot recall who. Scapegoat
Wasn't Chris Day known as Doris..? Wayne Andrews known as Julie anf Darren Beckford known as Becky Julie was another one I couldn't remember. Don't remember Becky (but good entry) and Doris was another. I wonder if its just a Latics thing or do all teams do it? If its the former I am sure there is some freudian explanation somewhere... Diego_Sideburns
Did Beryl Reid do the voice of the Queen Mother in Spitting Image? No, it was Steve Nallon who imitated Beryl Reid when speaking the Queen Mother's lines. He also voiced the Thatcher puppet.
