ChrisA
Grayson worked the loan market well in the second half of the season for Blackpool. Don't remember them spending, they don't spend much now either. Edited February 3, 2013 by ChrisA
Lukers1
That doesnt count though as he inherited a strong squad at Hudders,
slider1
Grayson had no money at Blackpool and when he took over they were struggling near the foot of the table he took them on a fantastic run which ended with them winning promotion through the play offs having kicked our sorry asses in the semi's
ChrisA
Huddersfield didnt spend money are you joking....it was why Clark was booted. Agree Grayson worked it well but had money if needed. I was referring to Blackpool. A team he spent a whole season with getting promoted. I'm not daft enough to think Huddersfield never spent anything give me some credit. Edited February 3, 2013 by ChrisA
Stevie_J
Sorry Singe, I dont get your post, Grayson had no money at Blackpool. I think 'no money' is stretching it. They certainly had more than we're likely to have in the foreseeable future. Didn't they pay a fee to loan Hoolahan? And then I don't think Burgess, Rachubka, Evatt, Morrell and Jorgenssen would have come cheap.
ChrisA
Edit prior to your post This league is weak. First we need someone to keep us in it short term. At the moment we are stuck in a vicious circle of short term deals, rolling contracts. Due to finance we cannot look beyond the next 12 months. That's where the difficulty lies. lancy lad
Blackpooh spent :censored: all that season. They were awful half the season and then clicked with a bunch of tossers (Keigan Parker and Andy Morrell up front), they :censored:ing battered us 3 times in a matter of weeks. Anyone who thinks Grayson is a bad move wants their head testing??? People are talking Megson or Brown..............some of you seriously worry me! rudemedic
Full list since it became League 1 in 2004, not in order and some done it more than once Mike Newell (not been in management since 2010) Roberto Martinez Gus Poyet Chris Powell Nigel Pearson Kenny Jackett (all definitely unavailable) Darren Ferguson Paul Lambert Dave Jones (not so unavailable as they are struggling but too costly) Sean O'Driscoll (as above but cheaper) Paul Sturrock (not 100% well and managing lower down) Phil Parkinson (Going to Wembley) Brian Laws (in the same fight as us) Peter Taylor Andy Ritchie (needs a very good offer) Steve Tilson (managing at Canvey Island) Gary Johnson (at Yeovil) Colin Calderwood (Norwich assistant- might be available) Nigel Adkins (far too costly) Plus Simon Grayson but he had already been mentioned when I started Edited February 3, 2013 by rudemedic

oafcprozac
Belekon wont be investing much in future he's under house arrest for money laundering back in Riga I've heard..... ;-)
leeslover
IIRC correctly Hooligan cost £50k fees plus whatever wages he was on, which can't have been huge. Nothing more than some of the loanees we have taken on over the years. They didn't spend big, but I bet they had no idea that what they spent would work out so well. Maybe a bit like us in the late 80s? Sometimes you are just bloody lucky, and that's it.

singe
Don't get me wrong LAncy I would give my right arm for Grayson. I just beleive he will get far better offers, and from the Championship And that he had more money than beleived. Grayson would be my no 1 if it was in any way realitisc. No way Brown
