  1. Wayne, just wanted to say what a great job you have done in your role as Chaddy. You are the reason my 1 year old can say 'Chaddy' before he can say 'Mummy'. The amount of times I have chuckled watching you taunt fans and act up pre match... superb! Good Luck with your quieter Saturday's. Pete
  2. I was shown this last week and it is pretty good. Shame it is so American but still funny! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsq3xbeX5NE
  3. errrr really??? Come on Scotty. The guy showed a fraction of the effort and commitment that our youngsters do. He was just wrong from the moment that picture was taken.
  4. right then, I'm going for 20:28. The exact same time my wife is going out... so I can be on here all night
  5. Yes! I am proud to say I was at all the games. At Everton I sat in the away end very very high up in the main stand with some friends who supported Everton. I could hardly see the players as I had smaller eyes when I was a smaller person I remember playing on the artificial pitch not too long after that game and trying to re-enact the Palmer goal in front of the then open Rocky Road end. I nearly killed myself as the stand-in Southall collapsed on top of me. Great game, great times!
  6. I would gladly pay you double if someone could get me some. I thought they had gone out of production. Fantastic!!
  7. I would love to get Newcastle at St James' Park. I haven't been in ages after studying there and is not too far away. I reckon we would take a huge following too... which could make for a really good weekend/day out.
  8. 1. Those fish and chip crisps you could buy at the ground. 2. I preferred it when the manager and the whole bench were sat pitch side. You used to get a real insight into what the manager was going through. 3. Half time entertainment... anything (I love a brass band I do) 4. The damn scoreboard, as much as it wasn't state of the art, I loved it. 5. Rushtons originals (where do you get these from nowadays?) They always brought good luck
  9. I have put 'yes' in the vote as I think in the short term it will be a success. I think it is a great idea and for £35 a very cheap risk if it does go wrong for those fans who have contributed. Good luck to them... it is great to see interest and money being spent in lower league teams and in such a positve way.
  10. Wardle... if you are out there would you be able to text me too? Cheers, Pete
  11. Unfortunately I can't attend, but will get my dad to go on my behalf (although he has been a Latics fan all his life too). Wish I was going, I think it will be a great night.
  12. I agree that Eardley had a good game. MOM for me! It amazes me we get such differing views, but I can understand booing the result but I thought we were not worthy of the defeat. Okay, I am no fool, we were not great but every defender had a decent game today. Stam did nothing wrong when he came on, Trotman won almost every header and not even Gregan would have been able to do anything about the goal, it was possession lost by Davies that led up to it... with no assistance from the midfeild. We lost the game in midfield, preferring to bypass it with the long ball, or the pass square by the forwards. Don't get me started on Taylor... very poor again today.

Hi Mike... another Latic in Edinburgh, excellent! Yes the gloating when we lose is not pleasant is it? I just hope they can focus their dislike of us towards supporting their team for a change, especially if they make it. I still see Argentina tops being worn on Princes Street. Very sad!

100% Yes. This has a lot to do with living in Scotland, but they are far more entertaining to watch at the moment than England. That pains me to say it, but they are full of passion, belief and play some really good football. Okay... the Scottish football leagues are not the best but you can't fault teams like Hibs for bringing youngsters through the ranks!
  15. Not a bad idea! I agree, I used to shout out loud when I saw those floodlights as you come off broadway travelling in the car with my dad and brother. They were my lighthouse, and the sign we were almost at the ground. I can see a few plaques, framed items and little trophies coming out of this like they did with the plastic pitch. At least it is another way of making money I guess. I'd buy some of it... cos I'm a mug like the rest of you. This is superb news, everything is crossed.
  16. Surely that's just a very small lego stadium with small people and normal size flags? Crazy music too??
  17. Fair enough Ross, I see what you were originally trying to say using it as an example. Oldham AFC have not done anything other than sign a footballer who happened to be in prison at the time (in simple terms). With regard to "how far do we go", surely it is because it is in the public eye that we know about Hughes and the incident. Who's to say we haven't ever signed someone else with a criminal background? Anyway, fair do's.
  18. It's pdw.... but anyway, when I said "accept it", I was meaning that he is with us because he was/is a good footballer. We haven't signed him out of sympathy, but have given him a chance to play football again. How you can compare watching Hughes to watching a pedophile is beyond me, a very very different and irrelevant point.
  19. You've covered yourself there haven't you! He's a footballer again now, playing for Latics, accept it. His days as a prisoner are over!
  20. Blimey, here we go again! I also have mixed feelings about Mr Hughes playing for Latics and I haven't posted very much on the subject, but I find it easy (and this is a personal view) to disassociate what he did, with the fact he is going to be playing football for us. I am not sure if this is right, but I do. I will of course be watching him play football with a little bit more interest than others, but I this is because I genuinely want him to do well for us, and for himself. If he was an opposition player it would be the same for me, with all this negative publicity, for him to at least try and resurrect his career it must be very difficult and I wish him well. This is now about football which is why we signed him... which is now Lee Hughes future!!
  21. The lower centre of gravity will come in useful Rich... Well that's what i keep telling myself anyway. I wish it was being filmed now, they could show it on the team bus next season to give them a laugh boost
  22. I can't speak for the others in the team, but having played with WardleLatic (oooh errrrrrr) at school in my younger years... lets just say, I hope he gets a game. He's like a little jack russell (and I don't mean the once great cricketer.) I'm predicting a 5-3 win for the fans!
