  1. The constant droning of these horns is now getting on my nerves, and consequently it’s ruining my enjoyment of this World Cup. I thought my tinnitus had got worse! The TV stations seem to have turned the background noise down, which results in the partisan fans not being heard. All you can hear is this monotonous droning noise. As such I find the atmosphere a little soulless. If anyone brings one to BP and sits near me, I’ll take it off them and place it somewhere where the sun doesn’t shine! I’ve had my Victor Meldrew rant. Thanks.
  2. Taggart is listed as Leicester's Reserve Team Manager, effectively number 4 at the club. A move to BP could mean a promotion, but I would assume his wages could be a problem?
  3. Did we also pay for the SMS that told us they had forgot to send us the SMS earlier??
  4. I personally don’t care that the new site is in Failsworth or has a M35 postcode, as it’s still in the borough of Oldham. My only concern is that some of the locals are organised and determined that Latics should not be able to build on about 9 acres of the proposed site, as they question whether the status of the land means that Oldham Council shouldn’t be able to lease this to Latics. They are determined to drag the process out and, if allowed, refer the matter to the Secretary of State. After the false dawns of proposed new stadiums on the Westwood Running Track, Clayton Playing Fields, Ferney Field Farm, and the failure of the proposed re-development of Boundary Park, I hope this latest plan comes to fruition and ends the club’s 15 year search for a new home.
  5. As I only understand English, can someone please translate Ibby's post? Thanks.
  6. I couldn't get there today but did anyone see any councillors or members of the council's planning department? Did the club give any indication of the timescales they are now talking about? No doubt the NIMBYs and Luddites will fight this all the way!
  7. The new manager should be able to bring in 2 new members of the backroom staff, presumably an experienced coach and a goalkeeping coach. Any suggestions?
  8. On another message board someone has mentioned Willie Donachie! I wonder what he's up to these days? Probably on holiday!
  9. Maybe Latics first choice (say Gannon?) has turned the job down or not met the board's imposed deadline, and that the board are meeting tomorrow to decide who is their second choice? Just a thought!
  10. Hardy is quoted as saying: “We (the board) will meet up tomorrow for a chat about how to move forward." This suggests their shortlist of 10 is now a shortlist of 2 or 3, and that they haven't made their minds up yet? Or is this all just a red herring?
  11. So there we have it - We're getting a management team of Gannon, Bunn, Crossley, Harbin and Gray!!!!!
  12. According to the same message board and Posted by faz6335 on 29/5/2010, 7:22 am "There is no doubt about the current situation. Jim Gannon was about to be appointed as County manager, but tha long awaited announcement from the county takeover group scheduled for 3.30 yesterday was cancelled throwing the club into turmoil again, including James Gannon, who along with his trusty(and good freind of mine Peter Ward)assistants futures. Now to put this in perspective. Jim and Peter HAVE been interviewed by latics and are only waiting for confirmation that the county takeover deal has genuinley stalled before taking the two year deal on offer at latics. Thats the only reason Alan Hardy has said that he may have to wait several more days. Nothing to do with second inerviews or any other crap. They are waiting for Gannon, pure and simple. Hope i have cleared the mystery up lads!!!. By the way, Wardy is a geordie lad through and through but has lived in Ashton U Lyne for years. Would be great move for him. Top Player, Top Coach, Top Bloke." My head hurts now - and I'm replying to my own posts!!
  13. Why can't I find any current odds on the next Latics manager? Has anyone seen any over the last couple of days?
  14. According to another message board: Posted by fryatt1969 on 29/5/2010, 10:36 am "if the rumours, about gannon are correct... why last night, did simon corney and alan hardy- meet ian dowie, in a manchester hotel- to talk over the managers post... im not saying, he will take on the job! but the meeting happened... fact!"
  15. According to OmarDon'tScare (Chron On-Line) "It's common knowledge in the right circles that Dickov, Bunn, Richardson, Crossley & Gray are 5 of the names interviewed at Scouthead Conference Centre over the last couple of days." I haven't a clue about the reliability of this source, although the Scouthead Conference Centre is very nice!
  16. According to the Rarely Wrong Chron: PAUL DICKOV is the surprise name in the frame to be Athletic’s new boss. The 37-year-old former Manchester City striker, who ended the season at promoted Leeds United, is searching for his first management role and is believed to have been interviewed by the club earlier this week. At least it makes it a little more interesting!
  17. Anyone seen the odds today. Everytime I lookt they're not there!
