  1. Have they got a senior player who could be player manager?
  2. The report also mentioned that their move to the new stadium: Revitalised the whole club. Has increased attendances by up by 50%. Tapped into an abundance of new revenue streams.
  3. The exact moment Gordon Lawton fell out of the Press box!
  4. Saturday 10 October 2015 will go down in history as a special day for Oldham Athletic. The Poundland League 1 North club, who came out of their second period of administration exactly 3 years ago, will play their first home league game in their new stadium following just over a season of playing at Spotland. Oldham’s owner and life president, Tom Hicks – or Mr President as he likes to be called - said he was delighted that Oldham can call the revamped Whitebank Stadium their new home. “It’s awesome that soccer is back in little old Oldham”, Mr Hicks said. The 4,000 capacity Whitebank Stadium has not seem competitive sport since Oldham Roughyeds went out of business 2 years ago following non payment of their 47th tax bill. After a 20 year search for a new home, and despite an 18 month campaign of opposition from the Limseside Liberation Front, Oldham Athletic finally won an appeal against the merged Oldham and Rochdale Unity Metropolitan Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for the new Alan Hardy Stand. Oldham manager, Ian Thomas-Moore, echoed the sentiments of Tom Hicks. Mr Thomas-Moore, whose father is also a director of the club, said “it’s awesome that soccer is back in little old Oldham”. Thomas-Moore, 39, also named himself in the squad for Saturday. Club captain Chris Taylor also returns following a broken toe nail, and is certain to take up his usual place in the centre of the defence.
  5. This is a rotten comment. I think you are a stooge!
  6. This would suggest that Blitz and Gazal have 'loaned' the club £4.63m. This is in addition to buying BP back for about £4.5m and paying around £3m to buy the Lancaster Club site in Failsworth. That's a total of (at least) £12.13m in less than 7 years! Reason enough to thank TTA, especially Simon Blitz. The worrying thing is the lack of any new investment and the continued delays in getting the new stadium developed. Looking back I also seem to recall that Chris Moore wrote off a £4.5m 'loan' when the club went into administration! Anybody got any good news?
  7. Maybe we should get in free, but pay an amount on the way out - depending on the size of the crowd! That's £26.40 mate!
  8. If this is an average month, then this equates to £2,640,000 a year. 23 home games plus (on average) 2 home cup games = 25 games a year. 2,640,000 divided by 25 = 105,600 105,600 divided by 4000 (average home gate) = 26.40 So if every fan paid £26.40 a ticket we'd break even?
  9. Gateshead said they were looking for a defender and a midfielder?
  10. When TTA took over it was reported that the land at Boundary Park was about 22 acres. The total site at Failsworth, including the disputed land, was reported as about 30 acres.
  11. I went for the bad Penney as well. It probably helped that Wadsworth was already at the club! In any case I quite liked old Mick!
  12. Anyone know what happened to the dog in distress??
  13. So we have someone, who is supposed to be a Latics fan, stating that an opposition player should assault the club's 59 year old Chief Executive. How very adult and mature!
  14. Only 800. I think we expected them to bring around twice that figure. I presume County fans can make a late decision to attend the game and pay on the gate?
  15. Any bets on Friday's rarely wrong Chron saying they ‘understand the fee to be in the region of . . . . . ‘?
