  1. A win might see us gain a play off position with a game in hand against Rochdale (which if we win that we'll be 2nd... ok one step at a time eh) I'll take 4 points from the next two games. I and a few others will be there - new ground for many including me and another excuse for a piss up in the capital! Come on Oldham
  2. I was in line for the offside goal and I think it could of gone either way but Taylor did seem just offside (whether he was 'active' or not is a hard call). Tounkara's miss was a belter - two magnificent turns to leave him and the goalie to beat then BANG... nearly cleared the Chaddy End! Overall though he makes a presence up front and his effort for that 'lost' ball in the corner then turns it into a goal scoring chance was quality - you wouldn't of had that last season. 1st half was a funny one, both sides seem to be cancelling each other out and Latics had the wind and the ref against them! Speaking of the ref, surely one of the worst in a while we've had, inconsistent and some of his decisions baffled me - their defender kicks it out and they get a goal kick, also, the drop kick for a ball on the field AFTER it been kicked back out? They win it and we lose possession and have to start defending and could of cost us a goal. 2nd half we saw Jones being a threat by his balls floating in dangerously to the strikers and Furman commanding with some quality tackles albeit one bad one for which he was booked. Reuban looked match fit also which is a bonus after him being declared 50/50 pre match. I think the attitude of the team is what we Latics fans want and the tension in the ground in the last 2 minutes was only let down by us not scoring. Unbeaten at home and not by fluke, we are a good little team which might suprise a few if we get lucky with injuries & suspensions. Roll on Southampton and this season we can go there confident and have a go instead of parking the bus.
  3. 3959 home fans today, 297 more than the Orient game but how many paid £5 for the 'bring a mate' campaign or the Sun's £19.50 for two tickets for this match - only the board knows. The 2nd half atmosphere seemed miles better than anything we had last season yet the stewards in the RRE are still aiming to kill any noise we have at Boundary Park. Penney did a lot of harm to our fanbase last year and Dickov's tatics will only encourage more people to turn up if the style of play continues.
  4. Score: Oldham Athletic 2 - 1 Bournemouth Scorer: Feeney Attendance: 3998
  5. Anyways... during our little chat about the legal issues I've had an offer away from Ebay so I will be pulling the auction (sorry to dissapoint the 4 people watching in the last 5 minutes who obviously don't care about whether its legal or not!) But the ticket is now officially sold and see you all at the match!
  6. I think it would be more of a crime for one less Latics fan not to attend... But in all seriousness I can fully understand that it may be technically 'illegal' but in all honesty I don't think that many people at Ebay care about Oldham Athletic tickets and the law is mainly in place to stop serious touts selling a mass of tickets to the top clubs. What I'm doing is basically the same as blokes stood outside Premiership stadiums selling tickets (which have more risk of being fake) who blatently sell them without fear in front of the Police. By me doing it this way it proves that the ticket I have is genuine and the buyer can buy in confidence and get the ticket in the post by monday at little cost. If I had bought 50 Sun's and was getting a brief business going to exploit the offer then I would understand the legal issues but for the tiny costs involved its no worse than someone doing 31mph in a 30 zone.
  7. Well who's losing out if it is illegal? The Sun and NPower have got me buying the paper with has the adverts in it which pays for this deal, Wednesday will get the rest of the ticket paid by NPower/The Sun, you can get a ticket cheaper than the matchday prices and I make my costs back for my ticket plus that one. Ebay and Paypal even make money on me using their website to offer the deal and the commission from it so they can't complain. It's not as if its the World Cup final and I'm buying 40 tickets for a sell out match and selling them for 3 times the price. It was just going to be a ticket for my mate who's not been for a while due to him losing his job etc so it's hardly the crime of the century is it? And Prozac I'm aware of that cheeky loophole but for a match like this I thought I'd not bother and just stick it up like it is. If anyone wants to offer me some money for the ticket off Ebay it doesn't bother me at all. If it doesn't sell on here/Ebay I'll just offer it outside the ground to someone who's about to pay £21 to get in but I'm offering it here now as it's out of the way for me to have a few pints before the match. Why not grab a bargain eh? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wednesday-v-Oldham-2...=item4aa4bf4367
  8. Well I might as well join the fun with selling a Sheffield Wednesday match ticket on Ebay. I was going to try and offload it outside the ground but this might be easier... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT No reserve so you could get it for a total of £1.98!
  9. Our first year with no Burnley = great atmosphere, great turnout and no trouble. Year Two with Burnley (Big day out in the big City..) = fights and general trouble. Simple - don't invite Inbred scum to the masters.
  10. I've seen the match highlights and I now see why you blame Jarrett for the bad pass so he's partly at blame but that header should of been a textbook clearence and the problem would have been dealt with. If it was Gregan you'd let him off but MVoto has done this way too many times in the little time he's been here. Dickov get him sorted in training doing some long ball headers.
  11. MVoto yet again couldn't head an easy ball away from defence or directly to Brill so Jarrett wouldn't of expected to be needed in that situation and looked off guard to me. I'd like to see it again no doubt but I reckon from one viewing the majority of the fault should go onto MVoto.
  12. Player Ratings Brill - 8 – Crucial saves and the goal was not his fault Black - 4 – Worst game by him in a blue shirt, good effort but got taken on too many times and his crossing was way below par MVoto - 3 – Shocking display by him, he can’t deal with over the top balls and the goal was his fault (by an over the top ball...). His passing is average and he made the defence look shaky. Jarrett – 6 – Not his best game but held any control in the defence and kept calm. Lee – 6 – Didn’t really do much special but him and Dikaba worked well. Taylor – 7 – Still doesn’t look fit, glad he scored but lost position too many times to rate higher Furman – 9 – Solid and commanded the midfield. Would of got a 10 if his shot went in. Stephens – 7 – Seen better from him but his free kicks came close Dikaba – 8 – Brilliant showing on the right, controlled the balls over to him and looked better than Smalley on Tuesday Tounkara – 6 – How did he miss it? Kelly – 8 – Worked hard and shouldn’t of been taken off at the end.
  13. Charlton fans comments about the super blues: Oldham looked happy with a point. Their spoiling tactics were infuriating. it was ridiculous, never have i hated a team as much as the oldham lot. They were niggly, overly rough, time-wasting, hateful, evil, rage-inducing northerners Well I thought Oldham were a pretty tidy side in the first half and deserved to go in level. Oldahm really were quality wind up merchants. My head was almost popping off with rage. oldham impressed me pushed us hard played some nice football cant believe some of the comments on here anbout them i wish we played like them today because we would have won oldham certainly know how to infuriate a crowd Oldham fully deserved their point. Oldham looked a decent side - I really don't get why people accuse them of spoiling - they were more adventurous than nearly all the teams I saw down the valley last year. Oldham made it hard for our wingers but not every team will do that for 90 minutes. Dickov has got Oldham playing like he used to. Can't really blame him or them, as it particuarly effective away from home. i thought you were bloody impressive pal to be honest a lot better than last season and you have a lot to look forward to under dickov nice football at times pressure and bullying at others i liked it well done you were deserved of 3 points today imo Oldham looked pretty decent and only went particularly defensive after they went down to 10 men with a few minutes remaining which is fair enough. Draw probably a fair result. It was a decent point against decent oponents. Cant believe thats the same team who visited last season, credit to Dickov for that. Oldham surprised me, they can play. Oldham looked good at times but were able to mix it when required. Oldham were more than worth a point and had the two best chances in the second half Oldham played to their strengths today and did it very well, we will not be the only team to struggle when trying to play them. Their number 6 was a nightmare. Well done Oldham . a point is the LEAST you deserved. Oldham definitely deserved a point. I thought Oldham were the better team, sharper passing and unlucky not to get the winner. As for Oldham - mirror image of Dickov. Played alright. Nothing overly special. Worth a point. The reaction to the sending off was pure Dickov - absolutely blatant yellow card and a pathetically childish reaction from Jarrett. It boggles the mind that anyone watching that game can think that Oldham 'parked the bus'. Their football in the first half was as good as any I've seen an away team play since the championship - and better than most of those teams for that matter. Second half they were ok as well Keep up the good work lads!
  14. Quote from one Charlton fan: "it was ridiculous, never have i hated a team as much as the oldham lot. They were niggly, overly rough, time-wasting, hateful, evil, rage-inducing northerners." Love it
  15. Obviously it’s a pretty crap cup due to it being the 4th important challenge in the football season for lower clubs. Were out of the league cup so that’s one cup run we won’t get, the FA Cup could draw us a big tie on TV but it could also get us Charlton away and we get beat in the first round. So this could be the only chance of a getting to Wembley. I was there for the final (Through Johnstones) last season and Carlisle and Southampton had a smashing day out and I wished it was Latics. All the crap Tuesday night games are definatly worth it if you get to Wembley.
