  1. The article should read as follows: On-loan striker Darren Byfield returns to League One Doncaster after completing his extended spell at Boundary Park which ends after tomorrow's game The question is - will he be back - not convinced as he has only scored the one goal but you never know
  2. Are you sure about that? BBC site still reckons that it's on
  3. As I understand it - Windass wants to play on until he is 40 years old (April this year) and then look to get into management. A loan move until the end of the season whereby he does not need to move house would probably suit him fine I reckon - so Ipswich may just be a little too far. I think that having him on loan would be a decent move for Latics - let's see what happens
  4. Nah - what we have here is an example of a forced change being exactly the right one - Fleming has the jersey and will keep it imho. Shades of Trotman here I think - only brought in because of dire injury situation and then was a total revelation. All good managers need some luck don't they Shez?
  5. Definitely not good for JP - unless midfielders are like buses - they come along three at a time
  6. If it's cancelled (looking more promising at the moment though) - if it's cancelled then Sunday would be a bad day as there is the manuchelski live match at 4 pm - unless we go for a 1 pm KO. Let's hope that Saturday is still on
  7. I believe that they have been given the larger section in the Rochdale Road End - so about 2,800 or so. I reckon that if Stockport have a couple of decent results between now and the 24th then they could possibly go close to selling out. If we also have two decent results against the Hangers and the Cider Drinkers then it should be a rocking atmosphere. Bring 'em on I say - a chance to unleash Craig Davies...
  8. What I want to know is... if rummytheowl is member number 3 - who is number 1 and number 2?
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/7811687.stm Me too JS - me too
  10. Here ya go: Hughes - in the hands of Lee if he goes - even if it is not the full amount. SC believes that Lee is a good lad and will not do the club wrong. Expects Lee to get another ban as he will almost certainly continue to get booked... Taylor - some interest but numbers do not match our valuation Eardley - No offers Davies - want to see him here and do well - up to today no offers Huddersfield - fantastic turn out from the fans Recent form - too many draws will start to cost us if it continues - Hartlepool is crucial Tough times and tougher times ahead Interesting couple of weeks - but no one player is bigger than the club - expects to see Leeds and Huddersfield challenge the current top six Final question from big Gordon: 'If the squad is the same at the end of the transfer window will that be a success?' ..... maybe not.....
  11. Kerrching! £1m please
  12. Or.. we may well win our next game at home to The Monkey Hangers and then win away at Hereford thereby setting up a humdinger at home to Stockport Did I really use the word 'humdinger'?
  13. At the risk of stating the obvious, it is important that we get one or two new faces in this month. Irrespective of whether Hughes, Taylor, Eardley or Davies go and Byfield stays, we still need fresh blood. Is there another goalscorer out there who will come to Latics? Then there is a left back - sorry Kelvin. A Wellens type midfielder too, thanks. and there could be more depending on which of the above above leave the club. We do have the talent to remain in the play-off places but it is all about building towards the end of the season and peaking at Wembley in late May. It can still be a great season
  14. and while we are in school marking mode, please try and use 'taken' rather than 'took' - 4 out of 10 must try harder
  15. Along with hazell I agree - and Stam was looking pretty good before the injury so three decent central defenders at the moment
  16. Question is - how many tics will be there? Looking like 2,500 plus at the moment - noisy I think
  17. We are in contention - if we stick in the play off positions then it's all about the end game - 'it's not how you start it's how you finish' as someone once said
  18. Yup - that sums it up for me. Then there is Byfield - what to do? Is he worth keeping for the season or will he be part of the Hughes to Donny deal?
  19. Thing is - does he look likely to score a league goal? Did he score at Bury on loan - I cannot remember. He looks halfdecent when he comes on but lacks that goal stardust (see Byfield, Smalley, Alessandra etc)
  20. Whatever happened to him or that winger from Stoke???
  21. Also.. as we beat Crewe 3-0 and they then beat Hartlepool 4-1 I just cannot wait for january 10
