  1. Again nothing said about them starting. As responses go - this one illustrates how some people read what ever they want and then post to show how little they know. I'll file your response under 'S' for Sad Muppet
  2. Yes we are still in sixth position and can give teams like Peterborough a good run on their own patch but we still need another striker in the January transfer window - and that assumes Hughes stays. Byfield - that debate is elsewhere on this board - but will he score goals? O'Grady - one for the future? Then there is the question of the midfield - Lee and Stephens - will they ever get a chance? Trotman back on loan? At least we get to see Fleming for a few games. And finally - Chrissie Taylor - if he goes then I hope it is for a decent sum - but I wish he would stay...
  3. Steady on now - automatic promotion? I'll settle for the playoffs and a Wembley day out to remember.
  4. Well not quite - I am asking the people who go on about the people who are being negative to give it a rest - a slight difference there ya see? The negative posters are few and far between so if we stop giving them credibility and instead emphasise the positive...
  5. I wish that people would stop going on and on and on about the negativity The recent poll on here showed clearly that the vast majority of fans support Shez. The last three games have been won and that has given all a lift - prior to that there was concern (and rightly so) about the performances and the downward spiral. So give it a break would ya? We are doing well so just emphasise the positive huh? Rant over
  6. I think it used to be one of yours - cheers for the birthday card
  7. Times must be tough in Alloa if you could only afford £2 after such an omen I would have gone a tenner minimum!
  8. Still think Crossley should have done better - would be interesting to hear what the Temple himself would have to say...
  9. It ended up 5-3 - there was an own goal in there too. Nice to see O'Grady getting good press - Byfield will have to step up soon or he may well be on his way back to Donny

  11. Often seems that Shez changes things later than he should - but it worked out fine in the end. I just wonder if he would be better off sitting next to me - then he might benefit from my view (and viewing) point
  12. Great post. There is a difference between moaning and expressing fustration at a poor pass or decision out on the pitch. The passing still worries me - when it's good it's very good but when it's bad, it's dangerous and often leaves us exposed. Taylor is a class act I agree and one run last night was sublime. However, his end product has to improve - maybe that will happen away from Oldham - I would be sad to see him go but there is a huge talent there - will TTA be brave enough to resist the inevitable offers?
  13. Maher was good for an hour or so then faded quite dramatically - we also need more forward motion hence Whittaker coming on and Maher going off. Allott had an up and down game - sometime great, other times atrocious. I thought Shez got it right again with the substitutions - O'Grady and Whitts looked lively and changed the impetus of the game. I wonder if Lee will get a chance? Have to say though that my MoM was the Jones boy - best defensive display and two cracking crosses.
  14. Cannot understand that comment - Stam had a good defensive game - as did Gregan. The five minute period apart that is
  15. Agree strange comment indeed- Ricketts was a classy performer last night and we simply did not work out how to deal with him. But from a pure finishing perspective it was a masterclass from Lee Hughes.
  16. Stockport - hardly a bunch of dossers - played some great stuff and we were simply second best - this btw was a game where Stockport started slowly so didn't burn out Swindon - just has to be the worst performance of the season for me Yeovil - I didn't go so cannot comment But there are many other games that support the theory: Millwall, Colchester, Cheltenham (both cup games), Southend. Never a suggestion that we are fitter or more motivated - just that we pace ourselves better
  17. I loved the evocative description of our home town: 'the desolate and frigid wasteland, huddled under the brooding menace of Saddleworth moor, that is Oldham' Luverly
  18. I reckon that there could be a link between our improved second 45 and the opposition having worked hard to close us down all through the first 45. The majority of teams we play seem to work harder than we do , quickly closing us down and denying us space and time - but by the hour mark they have run out of steam and that's when we start to gain the upper hand. Could this be a subtle ploy by Shez? Or is it just that the half time 'motivational' chat has got through to our boys?
  19. On the positive side though, the service was extremely quick and I got a seat by the window
  20. If we win the rest of our games this year we will be top two come January
  21. It seemed to work - probably confused the guy
  22. What I would want to know is who was Shez about to pull for Lewi and Lee? Byfield and Maher?
