  1. Thank God I couldn't make the meeetings - it was all depressing enough anyway!
  2. Does that mean we'll be dissolved? I'm guessing you mean solvent and, let's face it, there are a few on here who give the impression of being seasoned glue sniffers.
  3. And I think it would have been an absolute disgrace
  4. So we'd have outbid the club that just signed Sol Campbel for £40,000 a week? Ok.
  5. But it's a travesty that almost all SS pubs in London including the Cheese which has been a regular haunt for many years have ditched the handpumps. Cheap but now sadly turned into hideous land muck which resembles John Smiths - a crime against nature.
  6. Indeed he did although as he was willing to spend half his life in a Gulag for it I'm not sure that anonymous postrings on a messageboard demonstrates quite the same degree of moral fibre.
  7. Lots of reasons, some personal some mundane, but at the end of it the only feeling I had was that the club was heading on a downward spiral that would not be easily pulled out of. Basically I agree with what you post on here but posting it hundreds oof times doesn't change anything.
  8. I don't think anyone takes a decision to switch clubs and certainly not "willy nilly". Take my example. My interest has been on a downward slide since the times of SAFE which was a depressing expeience on every level I can think of. I got very little out of the Moore © era as I never thought that would end in anything other than tears and since then there has been minimal cause for genuine long term optimism regardless of the odd flirtation with the play-offs I have now lived in and around the same town for almost as long as I lived in and around Oldham and over the last five or so years in particualr I have attended games at my local club more often than I have seen Latics fixtures. Dos that make them my club now? I don't know is the honest answer to that. I know I will never be as passionate about them as was once the case at Boundary Park but in all honesty I will never be as paasionate about Latics again either. So be it. Life moves on and if I felt the same about Latics at 47 as I did at 27 I think I'd be quite wworried about how life had gone.
  9. I wouldn't necessarily disagree that this squad has more ability than those in the 90s - I couldn't as there's only about three that I would recoognise if they sat on my sofa. From what I hear though they are not as good a team
  10. It's to do with expectations. I'll be watching my 3rd game of the season this afternoon in Conf South. Standard really not much different from league 1 but £10 for me and free for the kids.
  11. Just hope whoever takes ownership of our club next is doing so for the right reasons. Do you thinl there's a queue?
  12. Had my first visit to the new Wembley for the RL final on Saturday. What a fantastic stadium and how fabulous it would be to see Latics in it. Very disappointed with tonight's result
  13. It's Ltd company isn't it? Just download the accounts from Companies House.
  14. At the end of last season my local side, Bishop's Stortford, 32 miles North of London were one club away from having to join Conference North. Regionalisation can throw up some very strange anomalies.
  15. "Penney caused a surprise as Dean Furman lost his place - the Athletic manager diplomatically referred to the midfield man as being rested. " What does that mean? Sounds likes hinting at something else to me
  16. In the sqaud now. Stephens, O'Grady and Furman? Any others?
  17. That's the key one for me. There's no way I will ever be a twenty game a season man. When I do make my occasional visits thefre is barely a player who registers
  18. One more to beat the all time club record...
  19. It would be the day my interest dies completely
  20. Didn't he win an edition of The Weakest Link once?
