  1. If it was this: https://twitter.com/woodly82/status/568367669512007680 then it is a sad little man, who made a fake tweet to get some RTs etc.
  2. Without re-opening this can of worms, just seen this: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/blackpool-owners-owen-karl-oyston-5134418
  3. This site, presumably includes the penalties that he's won, has him down for 8 league assists, making him by far our most creative player. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/1078/leistungsdaten/verein/1078/plus/1/reldata/GB3%262014 It's pretty difficult for him to have an impact on games like Barnsley when the ball is just sailing over his head the whole game from punts by the centre halves. He should score more goals, Crawley (I think) he had a near post header and he missed the ball, Fleetwood away he should have scored one-on-one. But I think, without trying to preach meaningless stats that I don't have, he gives the team a better balance. Look at our results when Dan Johnson was here - one win? It didn't need an expert to see that we were unbalanced. Philli offers us that balance (don't say strikers shouldn't be in the team for defending, Pelle and Long at Southampton, Kane at Spurs do loads of pressing and winning the ball back high up the pitch.) I think he is a little out of form. But that happens, and if he is injured from JYM, then a couple of weeks rest might do him good. Only Jones, Kelly and J Wilson have played more than him. It's a good opportunity for Mellis to show what he can do.
  4. They sit deep, Forte can't use his pace, and we're not technically good enough to pass through teams. So we end up hoofing it long, and we don't have the players to do that.
  5. Mills in. He's better than Brown, even if Brown has had a couple of decent games (he didn't last night) I'd take B Wilson out, he's not been good enough recently. Think Kusunga has been scapegoated for an awful team performance and tactical decision by LJ at Yeovil. Dunno if Mellis is game fit yet, had some nice touches yesterday, but also gave it away it a suicidal position in our half.
  6. I'm almost 100% sure it was a volley. Following a series of errors, of which Kean should receive the least blame. Someone :censored:ted out in midfield, Brown went to the winger then stopped, and Elokobi was asleep/tying his laces or something and let their man run free. Abject performance. Wilkinson only one showed a level of non-:censored:ness. I'm adamant Forte is better wide left and given freedom to drift, there's no use in putting him up top and lumping it to his head.
  7. Always wonder why clubs/we wait so long when there's a whole month to sign players. Seems like we looked at the clock at 9.45 and went ":censored:, should we get someone in?"
  8. It was tongue in cheek. I assume Jones Kelly and Winch are definite, Forte is when fit. Then it's Philli vs Mellis for the tip of the diamond. Then Murphy vs Wilko vs AMS vs Poleon to partner Forte?
  9. First deadline day/transfer window in ages where instead of feeling deflated, I'm buzzing. We're in a better position now then we were on the 1st Jan, which is remarkable. Well done LJ, Simon, Playershare and everyone else.
  10. He sounds like he would pass LJ's character test. Turns down a bigger club (who have a remarkable talent for getting incredible goal scorers, must be a good sign) to repay his manager and play football. I like him. :censored: knows what our best team is now. Back 4 Kelly Winch Poleon Wilko Murphy Forte.
  11. How thin is the squad now? LJ's shifted a lot of wages this month, must be some serious cost cutting to avoid sales. Out: Kenny, Jabo, Tidser, Dayton, Rachubka, Johnson In: Brown, Mellis, Kean. To my mind we now have 2 GKs, and 18 senior outfield players (inc Mellor, Locky, Turner who have barely played)
  12. I'm fairly certain that NewBlue was joking, seeing as though he's the most in form striker in the country, and this was a pipe-dream back when he was :censored:.
  13. His league career for us: Played: 32 Won: 11 Lost: 5 Conceded: 33 Clean Sheets: 10 Yeah, he's not Neuer, but he's done well for us. We've only lost 5 games when he's played for god's sake! Solid, good pro, great organiser. All the best.
  14. Cheers Paul. Can't complain at a 33% clean sheet ratio. Definitely helped keep us up last year, and has been on the whole, fairly solid. Good luck.
  15. I think it'll be Mellor. If Kean gets injured, we need Rachubka. Mellor is our 5th choice back up in most positions, but it'd take a complete disaster for him to be a regular starter.
  16. Matt Chambers ‏@Matt_Chambers_ 11 seconds ago Been to #oafc and Lee Johnson doesn't anticipate a lot of action today. On Nile Ranger: "Certainly not one for us at this current time."
  17. I'm not convinced of any of this. He's not hungry, he has no desire to be a footballer, he's had so many chances at decent clubs to prove it, and he's only showed that he can be a grade A pillock. His only decent goal return was at Swindon, so I'm yet to be convinced that he'd be great. And there's no way he'd be more effective than Forte.
  18. I'm not buying this about Forte. His knees are literally knackered, he's our top scorer, our only goal threat, and for the first time in half a decade, we have a possibility of play-offs. I think we have an option on him, so we could still get a fee in the summer for him. And any fee would be so small it wouldn't be worth doing. Come on Simon, turn your phone off and let this die down.
  19. Mike Keegan‏@MikeKeegan_DM City (Milner), Leicester, Bolton, Millwall, Rotherham, Blackpool and Oldham updates about to drop at: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2935307/Transfer-news-LIVE-Arsenal-Manchester-United-Chelsea-Liverpool-deadline-day-latest.html …
