  1. Deadline Day is such a farce now. "Hearing this" and "sources tell me." You have heard nothing from your sources, you've read the Mirror, you turd.
  2. Ole ole ole ole. Fortaaayyy. Like Boro with Kike: Awful video, but you get the gist.
  3. We're going to be linked with everyone like this now. Editor "Got a story on [insert troublesome footballer]?" Journo "Erm, not really. Shall we just say Oldham want him, they're pretty controversial." Editor "Yeah, that sounds like decent clickbait"
  4. Winchester is magic. He's so exciting to watch, he glides through teams with absolute ease. Anyone else think goal machine George is a bit suspect defensively? He lets balls bounce when he shouldn't and flies into headers and tackles with seemingly no thought about his surroundings.
  5. Aided by abject positioning from Carroll, who had completely lost his head. Great result, good performance on a tricky pitch. Winchester was fab, the 60 yard drive in the first half was brill. 3rd goal as good a team goal as we've scored.
  6. Article in the Chron today seems to suggest someone will be off, and seeing as though him and Kelly are our only saleable assets, I assume it's Wilson. http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/10/oldham-athletic-news/90078/lj-braced-for-player-exit Even though he's our best defender, is it the end of the world? Kusunga, Elokobi, Dieng, Lockwood can all play there, and would give us some financial leeway to bring in a striker. Another LJ success story too. JCH, Korey and likely Wilson all brought in by LJ and gone on to better clubs. He also sold Tarky and Jose. We look an attractive option for cast offs and youngsters trying to get a second break (bar the Ched debacle....)
  7. Rooney's a weird one. His record in England is significantly worse than his record in Scotland. English record: 30 in 127 (1 in 4) Scottish record: in 61 in 139 (close to 1 in 2) Make of that what you will....
  8. Shame it never worked. There's a player in there, but like most have alluded to, too small and lightweight to have an impact, only showed up once every 10 games. Doesn't fit into our system either. Wish him well.
  9. Didn't we get Gregan from Leeds because he'd played 74 games for them and they had a clause to pay after 75?
  10. Reid was :censored:. He was very big too, (look !) looked unfit most of the time. Not sure how much it proves that he's scoring in a lower league, his League One record is tonnes worse than his L2 record. Abbott was tidy, did a job, scored goals. He was in a :censored: Penney team though. Rooney's clearly a good player, just didn't click here, whether it be his Swindon contract like O4U says, or being mismanaged.
  11. Disagree. Oxley made loads of "sexy" camera saves, but Rachubka's command of his box, distribution and general organisation are much better than Oxley's. All likely down to experience, but Rachubka is a much safer set of hands behind the back four than Oxley was. Not convinced he's totally at fault for the third, deflection makes it a looping effort rather than a driven effort, hard to stop.
  12. Yeah, he's done this a few times (blamed Wilson, Chubs and bizarrely Dieng for Crawley's goal), not sure if it's really necessary? At least he's honest!
  13. Chris Taylor equalises for Blackburn vs Swansea (Sky 971)
  14. Who would people prefer from Jabo, Wilkinson or A.N. Other? I thought Jabo did a job for us, and when he was good he was very good. I'd have him back.
  15. Based on stuff I've seen on twitter etc, I think this is more of a Johnson replacement. Record for us whilst Johnson was with us P7 W1 D3 L4. Obviously the loss of Kelly had a massive impact on those results, but there's no denying that fitting DJ in the team disrupted our balance. We're a lot more solid with Kelly, Jones, Winch and Philli in the middle, so it'll be interesting to see where LJ fits him in. Seems like he has bags of talent but doesn't really have his head screwed on, a prime member for the "home for the unloved." LJ's had a positive effect on similar players, JCH, Harkins to an extent etc.
  16. RE Winch. Expect a news article at the end of May saying we've offered him a contract (on cock all), then for him to sign for Preston 10 days later, a la Tarky and M'Voto (I think)
  17. If the game is becoming quicker, and players are becoming faster and fitter, referees should follow suit. There was a bit in the Chron this week about Latics offering help to referees, and LJ saying that most we get are amateur. Surely the FA should be striving to having professional referees at professional matches? There should be facilities for improving their fitness and their judgement, decision making skills etc. I've lost count of how many times this season a linesman has been 10 yards behind the play, then they have to completely guess at offside.
  18. I think refereeing this season, at all levels, has been atrocious. A real stark drop from recent seasons. You struggle to get through a game, even at Premier League level, without a game changing howler. Vertonghen's non-goal this weekend was shocking. But yes, Mr Russell was excellent. Law of averages means we get a complete dud for the next game though...
