  1. No, but people do remember. It being in the paper now isn't the point. With a club like latics, Joe Bloggs wont know if there have been new owners, they will remember last week though. When it comes to attracting sponsors and perhaps businesses to use the stand, unfortunately I think some damage was done last week.
  2. Might not be bad news, all depends who he sells to. If he does what he says and sells to someone with the best interests of the club. Personally I think this is needed.
  3. To the tune of Moon River... J...... RIVERS WE BROUGHT HIM HERE FROM BLYTH HE'S SCORING THEM WITH STYLE ALWAAAYS I'll get my coat
  4. Would rather have MacAnthony than Corney and Barry, but yes he is a loose cannon.
  5. 'It came down purely to finances' Not threats then? Just when you thought "thats it, you can't be annoyed more by it" we are lead story on the BBC football website. Due Dilligence!! More buzzwords to spout. Mob Rule Due Dilligence Any more?
  6. Yeah, but thats cos it was a debate as to if it went over the line. In fairness, that should be the linos job.
  7. What got me was the offside on 94 mins. He plays on!! From that play on, we boot it out. We should have been able to slow it down. 1 min later. Goal. In what world was that our advantage?
  8. Id argue that he wasn't just prepared to put himself it it, he was prepared to put all of us in it, whether we wanted to be or not.
  9. I'd hope not. If they are real. Get the police on it. Get those arrested for it as it is absolutely disgraceful. If they are false: Get those responsible for lying arrested for wasting police time. (The police are tweeting about it so time is being wasted)
  10. Sport discriminates against people all the time Here Michael Vaughan in his autobiography says Ed Joyce didn't come in as have he "didn't have the right character" https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=yvXc7sOtgGIC&pg=PT133&lpg=PT133&dq=football+"not+the+right+character"&source=bl&ots=KYT65Mx08j&sig=5nvqWquJNfAglM3jEwF3SaDZT3s&hl=en&sa=X&ei=pH-vVJCqDcavaZ2vgagJ&ved=0CB0Q6AEwBQ Putting aside the moral implications of signing Evans' for a second: The board's parimary job should be to safeguard the future of the club and to look after it's best interests. On Monday morning, when we were on the front page of the paper and there were a sheadload of TV crews outside BP, it wasn't in the best interests of the club. They should have pulled the plug there and then. For dragging us through the following 4 days, I feel badly let down by the board. Ironically we had an apology from Ched Evans "I apologise to the clubs supporters, sponsors and all those effected by the last 72 hours" That's not his to apologise for. That should cone from the board.
  11. The head of the trust / fans rep or whatever you want to call him / her will only work if: 1. He / She feels he can be outed. 2. The committee are large. The more contributors, the better. Ultimately though, one person must make tough decisions 3. The committee are committed. Apathy has got us here. Regardless of Barry's faults, people doing nothing have made this worse. 4. Simon and the board must be willing to listen to the trust. Will this be a problem? I don't know. 5. The trust must be willing to listen to the board. Co-operation is key. 6. Honesty. Some things are not for the public, but honesty is key.
  12. Lags is only saying "Its a hard job, if you think its easy - give it a go" whether people agree with his view on Barry or not, he is right on that. Pulling the fans together, let alone gaining their confidence would be a start.
  13. At what point are you part of the mob? Just for having an opinion? My 81 year old grandma said last night "Why would they want to sign a rapist, even if he's a good player, its hardly a good selling point is it?" Is she part of it, just for not wanting us to sign him? I didn't contact the club, or go on tv, or abuse staff members. I did voice my opinion on here. Am I part of it? Is it just those who filled the online petition? Is it just those abusing staff? Seriously, I would like to know. Or is "Mob Rule" just a nice soundbite?
  14. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jan/08/andy-townsend-itv-contract-not-renewed
  15. I don't remember oldhamers voting on whether latics should get it though. (I don't live there though) Id suspect voting on it in the town will mean the club won't get any...
  16. If the mob pay the money to sponsors, but they decide "no". Is that mob rule or capitalism in full effect?
  17. "Proceeding could have placed significant financial pressure on the club and continued to be a divisive influence. As a consequence the deal could not go ahead." Does that mean Sports Direct were not too happy?
  18. In principle I would agree, but it would become a slanging match.
  19. Ah, fair enough. I only posted what I had read myself. Hopefully they get those responsbible. It's appalling someone would stoop to that
  20. David conn of the guardian saying "police say they called latics and sponsors and were told nbo threats have been made" a couple of low level abuse on twitter. This gets worse
  21. Why? On what grounds. What did I say to lose credibilty? Anyone making death threats are disgraceful. The whole thing is a complete mess.
