  1. Player of the year. Highly rated by the fans. Comes from Burnley, so he'd be coming closer to home. Started at United. I think, on the face of it, this would a cracking signing, much better than the lad at Halifax, who has played a relatively modest number of games in his career.
  2. Is he quicker than the great Dylan Fage? Fage had pace, you know. Roy reminded several times in every match.
  3. Brilliant news. Great player, great coach and top bloke. He's one of our own and I'm really chuffed about it. What those bastards did in sacking him sums them up. His return also sums things up as they stand now. Excellent.
  4. As Big Joe used to say, you can't have enough strikers. Things are taking shape nicely.
  5. I think that was the most miserable Oldham hating Oldham fan out there. He was taking the piss saying the delay in announcing the players was because they'd had pictures taken wearing the new kit, so we had to wait for the kit launch. I mean he could be right, but he's a ridiculous individual who's been in Yorkshire too long.
  6. The FA Trophy final has been crap. Still, over 27,000 there.
  7. Such a good day. Salford are another obnoxious plastic club, and, well, Hughes...I mean, what can I say.... Good luck to County. I used to like Friday night games at Edgeley Park.
  8. More sources linking us with Willoughby and one with Danny Lloyd. NL ITK and Football Insider.
  9. According to Non League ITK, Rooney is unhappy at the club and wants a move. Not a surprise. Good player on his day, but has not been consistent and is a stroppy get. Next.
  10. We did lose a lot of points in the last 10 minutes which we shouldn't have done, and we were unlucky at home against Wrexham. Gateshead were totally crap at home. So were Alty. But yes, we folded. Having said that, they battered us at their place and totally deserved to stay up (comfortably in the end). Rhino is right to focus on defence and organisation first. Make us difficult to beat (over 90+ minutes). It's a basic logical thing to do. Be organised. Be disciplined. Work your bollocks off. Have players with speed, players with physical strength, but all with stamina and mental strength. Then, the big difference with other teams (given many teams in this division tick many of these boxes) is technical ability. Wrexham were better on the physical side, Notts County on the playing side (it almost cost them). Parkinson will be sacked in two years, maximum. His style is strictly League Two or below. After we get the basics in place, we can start to talk about improving as a football team. Get the foundations in place. I think this is what Rhino was trying to do. On Rhino, I also think he had a lot to learn when he became manager. Hopefully, he has, to an extent, learnt. That last interview in the OT was much better than his early ones. I'll give Rhino a proper chance next season, even though he really frustrated me at times. It wasn't the easiest scenario to take over. Some expected instant results. That was stupid.
  11. Ruptured Achilles and 'other health problems.' Shaun, this Harrison. He'll be on the physio bench next to you for 2023-24.
  12. 0-2 for Kiderminster. I don't usually like goal celebrations, but Hennings' made me laugh.
  13. Brackley looks equally bad. Andy Dibble's son playing for Kidderminster. That makes me feel old.
  14. Oxford City three up. They average 500. The ground is not as good as Curzon...or Stalybridge...or Hyde...or many other clubs further down the leagues. Still, always liked going to Oxford. The old Manor Ground had a lot of 'character.' Didn't it have 6-7 different stands.
  15. Sounds like it's 'wild' speculation by a journalist. Still, he hasn't his pledged undying loyalty to Barrow. I reckon he'd be off like a shot. I know I would.
  16. The scars run deep, don't they. Robbed of promotion. People often forget what Joe did for us that season. Edwards is almost on a par with Hughes. That said, I often wonder if it was a blessing in a disguise. The team that got promotion and was covered in great cup exploits was much better.
  17. Two fantastic games today. They had everything. These play-off are even more brutal than the two-legged affairs.
  18. Why? I'd extend until the end of May. Some people might be paid at the end of the month and needed that extra wage packet to afford it.
  19. Signed for Accrington? Really. Looked a proper donkey.
  20. Absolutely. Who on earth gave them such long contracts? Terrible decisions. They're all crap.
  21. I would agree, but he wasn't fit enough to play, so Rhino had the option of playing him at the back (and shuffle the pack as you rightly suggest), but that would expose him and the defence, or put him upfront and minimise a potential problem while giving him the chance to score. Unfortunately for Rhino, it didn't work out, but that's sods law.
  22. I think we should take the piss, just as they did. Show some passion.
