  1. Think we have missed MacDonald being on the pitch in the last 2 games. He caused havoc at Stevenage and won us 2 penalties and then he scored a great goal today having only played 10 minutes. He needs to start next week.
  2. On LP, both Tarky and Murray mentioned we had taken a defender on trial. Anyone got any idea who it is?
  3. I agree with that, especially the "express disappointment when your team loses" comment. But our fans never seem to wait til then. I had a fair few sat around me today that were stupidly negative, made me wonder why they even bothered going in the first place.
  4. Home games are far too depressing...too many people too quick to moan at the first misplaced pass and then let that set the tone for their attitude for the rest of the game. We have so many negative fans at BP it's ridiculous. No chance of teams coming here fearing us while it's like this. I've begun to hate home games for this reason. Away games are so much more enjoyable and I can't wait for next week!
  5. I feel very good about Latics at the moment when one of the main problems seems to be "hands in pockets"......just been on the carlisle message board and they have a thread titled "Players we should sack" And their manager has just been on their local radio saying the squad he has built can't compete in this league and the only reason they beat Blackburn is because they didn't want to be in the competition. Think it puts our problems into perspective a little bit. We will finish comfortably mid table this year and that will be a huge improvement on the last few years we have suffered. We are two games in, and are in our highest position in the league in about 2 years. Lets enjoy it
  6. If it was just a way of keeping fit, surely he would be able to train somewhere closer to home, rather than in a totally different part of the country at a club where he has no previous connections. There's definitely something in this. Johnson wants one more striker to come in, so why allow someone we won't be signing to train and play in our friendlies.
  7. They will shock us soon and not bother telling us anything, then unveil Messi and Ronaldo after weeks of no speculation whatsoever!
  8. Another year with us could allow him to develop massively as a player also, so even though he would have a year less on his contract, we could still demand a similar fee to what we could now due to increased experience and ability that he doesn't quite have yet.
  9. He will still be under 24 when his contract runs out in 2015 so unless we get offered silly money, keep hold of him, then offer him a new contract again in 2015...he then signs and we carry on or he says no and moves on, in which case we would be entitled to at least some compensation! Speculate to accumulate and take the risk by rejecting any incoming bids!
  10. Not really worthy of the exciting "New Signing" article last night but i'm happy he is staying on for at least another 12 months.
  11. Just got to replacement our top goal creator...how many assists did he end up with? But I think the fact we are doing our business very very early, I have full faith in LJ to sort it out well before the beginning of the season. The way he is going about things, we could have our squad sorted by July 1st, be a refreshing change than having to sign a bunch of loanees on August 31st
  12. Quite annoyed by this because that means they brought more stock out. I was down there at 9:15 and the selection of match worn shirts was very disappointing. I'll give it another go on Monday and see if there is anything else they may have held back.
  13. None of the first team shirts are there except GK kits...Fringe player shirts and then loads of training kit. I used to spend ridiculous amounts of money each year, but there was hardly anything decent this time around, saved quite a bit of money!
  14. Do you have Chesterfield away back in 1999 (I think), won 3-1 I seem to remember! Was absolute belting down with rain stood out on the open end!
  15. And some people need to stop being Douches and littering this forum with complete balls every day!
  16. I agree. I bought a David Eyres Benefit game shirt just after the event and it came with a Certificate of Authenticity but every other match shirt i've bought from the club hasn't come with anything.
  17. How do you go about getting a letter of authenticity. I've just been and picked up Croft's ;)
  18. I'm with you on that one...I've done them three as well. Wasn't Hendesford when Neil Pointon was in charge? For some reason, I vaguely remember that day, even though I was really young!
  19. I've done 74 League Grounds, 10 Conference Premier and any other lower non league team we have played away since 1997-98 season. Also been to the New Wembley 2 times, didn't manage to get to the old one! I've visited Highbury, Emirates, Hawthorns, Craven Cottage, St. Mary's but only been outside, never for a game so I don't count them on my list of 74....Done a few doubles as well, Wigan (Old and New), Man City (Old and New), id imagine I can add Rotherham and possibly Burton Albion to that list next season! Not bad for 16 years worth of following Latics! Considering I have only witnessed us play in this sodding League!
  20. Exactly, they don't even take the time to check the fixtures before spouting a load of :censored:e
