  1. The problem today was clear, and it wasn't Kelly or Jones. We created more than enough chances to win the game comfortably. We lack someone with the touch and/or composure to finish when the opportunity arises. Kelly & Jones were part of the midfield that created 15+ opportunities today. From the last few games, the opposition have only managed to create maybe 5 scoring opportunities between them at most, yet we've created probably had 9 or 10 good chances in each game. The issue we have is obvious, but someone who can stick every other chance away costs more money than we have!
  2. This was always going to be the case with a young manager...having played maybe 5 or 6 clubs throughout his career, he was bound to be familiar with a hell of a lot of players, most of which are still playing now. I for one, would much prefer him to sign people that he is already familiar with and knows what he is going to get, as opposed to someone signed off the back of a video or two! This "Jobs for the boys" comment never comes out with an older manager as all his "boys" will have retired and working elsewhere. No-one seems to kick up a fuss when a manager hires someone he knows as a coach or assistant.
  3. Selling them :censored:e autographs, yet still waiting for the long awaited shirt photos that she said she would put on! Something that could actually sell.
  4. Confirmed on Twitter that new kit will be worn for the first time vs Huddersfield https://twitter.com/SondicoOldham
  5. Yeah must be really :censored:e being only scoring tap ins eh. Try telling that to Miroslav Klose!
  6. 3 at the back would allow us to play them all, with a wing back on either side.
  7. All this whinging about these players coming in. Have I missed the announcement where we've actually signed them or something? No. Christ, has it really got that bad that we are now complaining about Johnson taking a look at possible new players instead of just giving them a contract on the back of watching a youtube video!
  8. Maybe he thought a change of manager could have seen him get more games this year.
  9. Peter Clarke from Hudds. Bit of a tool but a good player! Wonder what his wages would be like
  10. He called him Kirk Winchester twice in the LP interview! Hope he hasn't got confused.
  11. If it's an option, there's no guarantee we will even take it up!
  12. Is that really all we had there today? There looked to be much more than that.
  13. Whaddon Road is the Abbey Business Stadium now according to FootballGroundGuide. Bournemouth will always be known as Dean Court to me even though it's now the Goldsands Stadium. Also, up until about a month ago I hadn't even realised Pride Park had been renamed!
  14. According to their forum, they have sold over 500 tickets already today. Looks like it could be a very good turnout.
  15. Any kind of evidence to support that? Any names you could put out there?
  16. Having played all of 2 games for Burnley....superb effort....he will be on the move again when the season is over.
  17. I had a look on their forum yesterday to see how many they would be bringing and some were saying they'd only sold 400 or so because of the shorter opening times at the ticket office. They reckon around 1000 could make the trip with it being pay on the day.
  18. Are you a moron? He clearly means Johnson is learning his trade! Christ! You baffle me!
  19. Agree with that but we do a similar thing when slagging certain players off! There does seem to be no a middle ground with some supporters. Their opinions are "He is incredible and the best player we've ever had" and "He is :censored:e, worst player i've ever seen in a Latics shirt"
  20. Where in any of my previous comments have I said he isn't? I was merely stating that once we are safe we need to tie Wes down to a new contract!
  21. If we get a decent offer for Smith which we probably will at some stage, we have the option to turn it down if we want regardless of whether he wants to go or not! For 12 months more at least. If Wes get's any interest from a club where he would like to go, he can see out his contract with us and walk away...nothing we can do about it! So yeah, it's easier to keep a player who is under contract than someone who isn't!
  22. Korey Smith is still under contract. It's a lot easier to keep hold of someone under contract than someone who's deal expires in a few months!
