I dont think they can do that, it would be seen as giving discounts, your normal punters/away fans paying £20 on the day would not get the same fringe benefits. Good idea though.

Agreed, the rule is crap. I dont see how the league can legally dictate what team you play for any competition, they dont pay the wages, the club does, so it's up to us who we play. The only rule they can enforce is that a team is required to field a full XI (Recalling when Boro were punished because they didnt want to play the reserves). I'm not a fan of this competition, we've got 5 games in 14 days now, which will obviously have an affect on the fitness levels. Turd Ferguson and Winger would be going mad if they had to play this many games so early in the season. That being said, if we were to go all the way, I wouldnt miss out a chance to fly over for the final.

The bottom Premier League club gets at least 30M this year in guaranteed revenue, so they can afford to drop their admission prices. I'm not sure how much we receive for TV money, did I read 250K somewhere?

I think that this in the end would be a much fairer penalty than deducting points. Why not just hand Leeds a 2 year promotion ban instead, last season, they would have finished 2nd, but if they had this type of ban, the spot goes to the team below them. At least this way, the league still would still remain competitive. Luton and Rotheram already have depleted squads because of going in to administration, so will struggle anyway. The points deductions simply make it an almost certainty that relegation will happen.

If we dont go up, he should definitely not be sacked, it's lunacy to even consider it. I dont think its unreasonable to set ourselves a minimum target of the play offs, but that is a crap shoot in itself. We could fail at the semi final stage as we have done every time we've qualified(Personally I think we're jinxed when it comes to the playoffs!). If he goes, then the next man wants 2-3 years to build his own team, it's time we broke out of this vicious circle of changing managers too soon(Although Sharp had to go...Ritchie should have been given the job after Royle left).

I dunno? Carlotti made a mess of the last batch, mine is still on order and have had no confirmation from the club if its been shipped or not. We cant have sold that many, so put the shirts on hold, get a new sponsor quickly and offer to replace any already purchased hillstone away shirts with the new sponsor logo. It wouldnt make sense to play a season with a sponsor who is not going to pay us.

Sharp gets my vote, it was dire under his charge. We may not have been premiership class, but we were and should have been a mid table championship team. I read a couple of pages from his book and I got the impression he regretted coming to Boundary Park entirely. In some ways I not only blame Ian Stott, but also Joe Royle for giving us Sharp, if I am right in recalling it was Royle who gave Sharp the glowing thumbs up to Stott over Ritchie.

The local English cinema I go to here has a sneak preview every Friday and tonight I got the Dark Knight. Good film, cant decide if its really good or only just scrapes good. Sadly now I definitely have to wait till 19th August, stupid Germans. Ledger is fantastic in the role, not Oscar worthy, but definitely delivers a Joker to remember.

I feel sorry for the fans, just as most people do. But the club has to be punished. 30pts does seem harsh, I really dont see how they can escape relegation, the team is barely capable of staying up as it is. Wouldnt a ban on them getting promoted be fairer? Say a three year promotion ban(You can be relegated, but not promoted). This way the club can still be competitive in the league. If they finish in the automatic/play off positions, then their place goes to the next team.

Thought about this myself, sure If I'm home at all this season, I'll happily pay the 20 quid gate price for whatever games I can get to. But with the cost of living showing no signs of easing up, increasing energy bills, tax etc I cant see how your average fan can afford to go week in week out. I think the club should seriously consider reducing ticket costs. Even then I dont think that would really help.

The last time I had a season ticket, the woman who served me allowed me to walk through in to the ground and pick my seat. I never did get her name.

It's all up to Barton to prove that he's not going to fly off the handle again, certainly before he was sent down, he had gotten back to training/playing and acted like a professional. Whether that was just for show in the hope to avoid jail we don't know. If he comes out and re-offends, I guess we'll see him in a Latics shirt very soon.

What sort of percentage are we talking here? How many shirts on average do we sell every year? 3-5K? Is the margin that important that we have to sacrifice the quality? Given the status of the latest shirt release, I'd say the club has to seriously consider going back to a kit manufacturuer with a good manufacturing reputation.

Pearce may have passion, but he showed he couldnt cut it in the premiership, we also picked Keegan because of his passion and look where that got us. As for Ince, I'll wait and see how he does, there is a massive difference between managing a mickey mouse team in mickey mouse league 2 and taking over a team with European ambitions in the premiership.
