As others have speculated I now suspect that Evans was signed last week and now there are legal issues re withdrawing the contract. This together with the role of the PFA and potential loss of sponsorship can only be bad news for the club. I reckon this has finished the season, I do hope it does not herald the end of the club.

Oldham Athletic is not at this stage making any official announcement with regard to the speculation concerning Ched Evans. Whilst acknowledging the considerable media attention, we continue to have conversations with representative bodies such as the PFA and will conduct due diligence with regard to any decision we make on this matter.
