Fully agree Acks. This forum should be kept as an Oldham Athletic forum, not a place to be a c**k just to get a reaction. If some members (not targeting at anyone specifically) want that, there are plenty of other places to do it. Back on topic, I hope the City offer works well. I have a few friends that are Manure fans, but have season tickets at Stockport. They haven't become Stocky supporters, but they still hand over their hard earned to them. The players need to come to the party though and play attractive football. As long as we get a good number of city fans through the turnstiles, it is one of the only games I would take a good exciting loss over a bore 1-0 win.

I haven't laughed so much for a long time as reading this thread. I keep coming back and it keeps making me laugh. At the same time tho, I feel for the mods here who seem to have gotten the rough end of the stick as usual. Sad to see people thinking about walking away from their roles here because of this, but I fully understand that when you start to question why you bother, it is time to walk away for your own sanity. I am a mod of more than my fair share of boards, and it is a hard thankless job. Personally I would have got rid of Ibby a long time ago because he was always a ticking time bomb, but I respect the actions they took then and now. In an ideal world, there would be no need for mods, and the mighty latics would be top of the prem. As an Oldham fan, I would like to thank all the people here who give up their free time for the club, forum and trust.

I have never got why any club would say a player has been sold for a nominal fee. Nominal fee means a fee well under what the player is worth, why would any club want to advertise they did a shocking bit of business? If it is 20K, sounds like a fire sale. Pav was the best striker at the club, and if Dickov really didn't want him in the team, surely we could have got market value for him - not a nominal fee. £75K - Happy £20K - Pi$$ed

I think 75k is a good price if we replace him. Getting rid of high earners and not replacing them properly smacks of a sinking ship. Maybe PD is thinking he is much better than Pav, and expects to take Pav's place. Personally, I have not seen PD or Eaves play in pre-season due to my location. I rely on others on here to post their thoughts on them. Do people think it is Feeney and Eaves/PD as the starting strikers, and would they be good enough?

Looks like it to me, I can not see us letting him go for free under any circumstances - that is what looks like crap to me. Some say Dickov don't like him, so the 75k to Charlton _could_ be believable on its own. But the bit about was going to be free to them gets my crap-o-meter registering.

I think the lad would get a more positive response on here if his posts were qualified by the merits of his source. This one seems to have come straight from FM 2010 - Funnily enough, if you start a new game with the latest stats update by SIGames, Daniel is willing to join Oldham on loan (and is in the first 10 results of "Listed for Loan" and unrealistic targets filtered out). All it takes is:- I saw ______ training with Oldham A mate saw ______ training with Oldham A mate saw ______ at Tescos in Oldham A mate told me _______ is gonna sign for Oldham I was playing FM, and _______ signed for me on loan - we should sign him up in real life! ETC. The problem is, there is very litte in his posts to differentiate between the things that are just plain made up (not necessarily by RA), and the things that actually have some basis in reality. It is very frustrating for us users that are so far removed from Oldham and rely on users on here for the scoops going on at the club. I'm not having a go at Royle Army here, I think he could be very useful here for people like me. Especially as he is willing to spend a lot of time at the club that others are unwilling, or unable to. If he posts the rumours the way virtually all others users that post rumours do; I saw ____ , I heard from a mate that _____, etc, then surely noone could have a problem with it. I personally would love it if Royle Army could post his source for this one, not so we can attack him, but so we can better understand the basis of the post.

I was one of the supporters of the rumours section, and I think it has been a huge success. Another option, if people really don't like having a separate section for rumours, would be for users to prefix their thread titles with "RUMOUR -". Personally, I prefer the section.

I would be totally delighted to be wrong. Would LOVE to see Pacheco in an Oldham shirt for the season - I would even rebuy a new shirt with his name on it!

I know Rafa rated him very highly. Everything I hear from the Liverpool camp is that this is going to be his season of emergence. The only thing that I can see changing that is if Hodgson doesn't like him. But even if that is true, he is prem quality and a host of other prem teams would snap him up. If he does go on loan, it would be a max of 6 months to a champ side.

I think he has a book of footballers from the past ten years, and sticks a pin in randomly. <Pin Selection> is trial/talks/sigining with Oldham. Daniel Pacheco will be playing in the prem this year, end of.

Isn't Stockport in Greater Manchester anymore? The more intelligent thing would have been to get a factual list and put Oldham there in place of one of the areas. Maybe your perm is getting in the way of the screen!?!
