  1. Hopefully Green and Kitching can push on and help the attack, they will have plenty of bodies in front of back 3. Fingers, legs, eyes and whatever else crossed for a win, will gladly take our typical away performance of grinding one out tonight. Draw not the end of the world but a win gives us a bit more breathing space.
  2. Don't believe it is, or will be his best position by any means but certainly think he's our best option currently. Played okay against Maidenhead at right back, worth another run surely. I've no clue where Lundstram would be best suited to get a game out of him.
  3. In regards to Saturdays game Kitching was as bad as anyone else and hasn't really played well for a number of games. Think it's apparent if he's fit, he starts.
  4. Strange one this, wonder will he make changes due to Saturdays performance or will he stick with what's been working away from home? I would like to see Hope, Green and Sutton given a go from the start. Hope has done okay every time he has been called upon this season apart from the pen he gave away, which was very harsh. Green is an outlet if nothing else , when we actually pass the ball to him and Sutton I believe is the best option for right back / wing back currently. who to drop, take your pick!
  5. I am hoping this will be quite a competitive game, which I can see us winning. There should be (I say should) no pressure on the players as the general consensus would more than likely be an expected loss. It will suit us to sit in and break almost like an away performance. Playing the better teams in the league has suited us, I suppose Gateshead at home being the exception. I can see it being a "typical Latics" performance but in an arse about face way from Saturday, where we go and win 4-3, 3-2 or something like that.
  6. I do think it's poor form to only do the "easy" interview (on official)- from that, Mellons reasons were spot on, question is why did we continue then to hoof the ball as it got no better? He clearly saw we were winning nothing in the air, second balls etc also mentioned losing the battling side of the game. I do believe he set us up to play hoof ball today though, regardless of the players being brave enough on the ball to pass it around or not. In essence I think we were battling up hill today with the hoof ball tactics and inability to change that.
  7. This. We have played well and won about 4 maybe 5 times under Mellon. The rest of the wins have been ground out. Most of these wins have been a horrible watch, still a win is a win Problem is today, trying to grind a performance and lose- causes lots of unrest and rightly so. Unsworth was sacked for these types of performances over time. Only difference (and it's a big one) is Mellon is winning a lot more, with the odd performance thrown in here and there. As you say, sacking him is nonsense and also like yourself I've no clue if I'm happy that we are a terrible watch mostly but winning more than we lose!
  8. Very poor form. His tactics today were awful and he didn't change it. Would have liked to have heard what his thinking behind today's display was.
  9. If this is true, thats poor form, today's display certainly could do with an explanation.
  10. Be interesting to see what he says in his interview. Id be surprised if he doesn't mention that if Lundstram scores it's maybe different game etc etc.
  11. Someone mentioned in an earlier post if we go long against these lot they would eat us up.....guess what, they did! Tactics today were a disgrace. Only player who looked like winning one of the hoofs was Fondop and he was substituted!! Why did we bring Green on? When he actually did get the ball to feet he done something. Dont think we one a second ball all game,. Don't know what game plan was today other than hoof and hope. Funny thing about it is when you look at Maidenhead game, Barnet and Rochdale, they are the anomalies because generally we are shit but grind a win and we actually played well in those matches.
  12. Looking at remaining fixtures we have, I would think that we could end up with around 75 points or so (being conservative edging on the side of Latics being Latics). in the last 10 years think 75 has been good enough for top 7 finish, which means nothing with this table I suppose! Last night wasn't great by any means but as long as we keep plugging away and picking up points, winning ugly when needed, likelihood is at least a crack at play offs.
  13. Only seen one game this season, Dorking, as it was on BT, thought we didn't play well at all but won anyway. Reading what's being said on here and listening to the opposition commentary, doesn't seem we have got any better since, if anything worse! Massive Shez fan but season so far reminds me when he was replaced by Wellens. Lost so many in a row, played 3 at back, over run in midfield a lot of the games, stubborn etc etc..... we need a change now, lots of games left and a change of philosophy may do wonders....who knows! Can anyone remember the last time we actually played well for 90 minutes even a half! I've booked plane tickets to come and watch Scunthorpe game which seems like a very wise decision, Considering our recent Tuesday record which has gone to the dogs and the state of performances currently!!!!!
  14. Who was it that didnt bother to help Hamer 1-1 with the cross for the Exeter goal? Standing beside them and stood and watched. Slept at evey quick free kick and corner. Its a cert we will win our next two games, pitty it all means fuk all.
  15. Northern reporter for mail sport. Brothers a Utd fan, says this fella gets the Utd rumours right.... I myself at this point in time claim to know nothing and couldnt give a fiddlers fuk as to the rumours or whoever is eventually appointed. Thought i would share!
  16. Im feeling... bump bump glad all over, yes im bump bump glad all over!!! Hated that song since we lost 1-0 under Shez in injury time a while back vs this lot!
  17. Stockley reminded me of Porter, good player. Think on another day we get 2 pens. Could of gone either way. Put Nicky Law in the Prutton, Douglas bunch.... players who love playing against us! Was a good game. Gutted we lost, do we ever do well over Christmas?
  18. Surridge papered over the displays on a whole with his goals and individual talent, which won us games. To be honest I think Baxter has been ineffective bar a few games and really poor at best. Why O'Grady starts every game is beyond me. We have been a rubbish watch all season to be fair. Mansfield away was atrocious, today was just as bad, Swindon much the same. Every home game is the same shit. If Bunn goes and at this point in time I couldn't give two fecks what happens, surely we can do better? Would be hard to find worse.
  19. Slow, laboured build up play vs 10 men... sideways and backwards passing. They look more likely to score than us. We are absolutely shocking and have no idea what to do.
  20. First 15 minutes apart the ball has been more or less in our half. In the corners with throw ins and them buying free kicks and we couldn't cope or get out. Dreadfull half of football. So frustrating to watch. The quickest Hunt has run that half was when the half time whistle blew to get of the pitch. I wish one of them would show a bit of fecking passion and grab them by the balls and tell them to give a shit at least for the fans and have a go for god sake.
  21. This is the biggest pile of shit I have seen in a while. The ref is a complete tool. They pump balls down the side of young George and get him turned and he can't cope. Percentage football from them at its highest degree. Complete rubbish.
  22. Was going to say the same thing! He's always good for the inside info. What is actually going on ffs.
  23. Same old rubbish. Nothing else to say really. Huffed and puffed second half.... means nothing, lost again at home to a team who are as awful as we are. Clueless as what to do, Bunn loves O'Grady.... many others don't. We will struggle greatly if the Surridge rumour posted on here is true, O'Grady seems to start no matter what.
