  1. Pivotal part appears to be: Although a word of causion must be made on the potential for exorbiant costs being awarded against the litigant who loses, litigants in person, usually have their minds clouded by what they perceive to be the moral rights of their case. Sums them up really.
  2. Good God, just because she prefers the players lounge to sitting in the stands with I_C doesn't mean they're on the road to ruin. Although he would obviously point out that her sexuality might not be right for the long-term...
  3. It's dependant upon the other fights before it, but I would be surprised if it was any earlier. I've been in training for it this week. Starting at eight a swift five pints until twelve and then slow down and drink a 'few' cans until late. Wednesday was an early (2am) finish, last night saw me through until 4. Tonight will be a mock run - probably until 5. Work* has been hard this week. *Turning up for, not actually doing hard work - I must stress.
  4. Although this could be due to numerous factors. Lee Hughes playing? Andy Liddell being out of the side? Bertrand learning how to play left back? Eardley returning to form? Gary Mac Coming back? Thompson not playing? For me stick Gregan next to someone with a bit of pace and he is second to none, and would be straight in when fit.
  5. Yes, lesson one in Welsh. They don't speak like normal folks.
  6. I thought Fulham had already had a look at him before he came here. I'm sure they looked when he was at Verona/Wolves and proclaimed him not of suitable <cough> temprament.
  7. Ah, yes, but a fat junkie who single handedly turned a Southern team* in the hardest league from terminal also rans into champions. Also dragging possibly the worst team to make a World Cup final there practically on his own. If recreational drugs make you play football like that I'm surprised the OWTB fans team doesn't get coked up to the eyeballs before games. The argument of Maradona v Pele is a decent one, Maradone successful in club and Country; Pele the best in internationals, but practically no club career. However the Luis Figo/Romario/Zidane/Ronaldo v Maradona isn't. Ali Daei 26th, George Best not in the top 100? I mean good god, these people can't even have watched football and have just randomly generated indicators to form a formula that is just rubbish. *One that could afford less and had continual corruption against them. Basically they couldn't fix the league against them.
  8. Can't think yopu can ever really say. However any system that rates Luis Figo as better than Diego Maradona is utter garbage. These people should just give up trying if this is the best they can do.
  9. I can't think we have an incredible surplus of Centrebacks. Remove the current disaster that is Thompson and we had only Gregan, Stam and Trotman (a kid). It needed re-enforcing. All manner of teams were tearing us to bits early on this season. I can't argue that we are short on top players in some positions: wingers, full backs, goalkeepers and strikers. But, we aren't going to cover them all. Hence we need to bring players through in those positions ourselves if they are going to be covered with any consistancy (rather than loaning in players in those positions each season). We have done this in some positions (Eardley, Taylor, Trotman) and at a certain point it is a sink or swim scenario. They can't all come off, and some will inevitabley fail. However I can think of few better scenarios for it than the mid-table obcurity season that appears to be approaching us*. I may be a little off, but I just get the feeling Ricketts will end up back here. In reality I know little more than anyone else, so maybe the 'inevitable' was a bit much. *If we end up at the right/wrong end than the case for loans may be a bit more urgent.
  10. But for how long? Where would the money come from? Wouldn't most top line strikers be cup tied? What happens when the inevitable happens and Ricketts returns (and whatever amount of money we aren't paying gets added onto the wage bill again)? Sooner or later the kids have to make the step up. Obviously you don't want them playing half a season or anything, but a game here and there I have no problem with whatsoever.
  11. Not too fussed myself. It sounds like it is just a niggle (or they'd be saying he was definately out), and it'll give some of the kids a bit more experience hopefully for a game. As for Jevons, we can't just loan players on the off chance our main strikers are going to get injured.
  12. */Rant on The thing that riles more than anything last night was the effort. Or lack of. Top class players who can't be bothered to play for their country. If we have no skill, no ability then we need commitment - and we had next to none last night. Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard stood out above all others and should NEVER come anywhere near an England cap again. Wayne Rooney said it all when he said he'd prefer a Chumpions League game to an England game. Get this type of player as far from the England side as possible. They ruin any form of team spirit and it would be better to play Fourth Division players than these. Just a bit of commitment could have made yesterdays game so different, but you just get a feeling half the players were thinking they'd rather be in Barbados than Austria next summer. The FA should all fall on their swords to a man. The whole system in this Country needs changing with the national FA taking charge. Train the PE Teachers (or in the case of my mate who coaches his school team including Hartlepool and Middlesbrough youngsters - History Teachers) to have the ability to coach properly - and have a school in each area which has a proper FA supplied football coach. This school can then be supplied with the cream of the youngsters from surrounding areas. Then from 16 have football colleges. Remove all the youth development from clubs. Do it just like America (American football) with their college system. At the end of their teachings (or earlier if need be) they can be picked up by clubs - who can make a small (in current terms) contribution to the funding (but will mainly come from the FA). If it all goes belly up then at least the rejects would have some form of education (which is just an added bonus). That's the World according to Mark done. /Rant off
  13. Hold on there's nowt wrong with Qatar Sports Club. Then Real Salt Lake City... So S.. Errm, Salernitana.
  14. Wow, this just goes to show how differently people see the game. I'm like BB80. I thought he was poor and deservedly got substituted. They were running through our midfield at will when he made the substitution. I'd have had him off a bit earlier to be honest. People seem to be picking up on Sheridan's mistakes, but on Saturday I reckon he was pretty spot on with all his changes (with what he has at hand). At the start of the second half, Smalley was causing them problems, just his confidence started taking great big dives when all the idiots started on him, so i wouldn't have removed him too much earlier. And if people couldn't see Hughes tiring, then I give in.
  15. Yep, Stipey. Some rather unexpectedly have come to the fore in this. Woolas can take a bow too.
  16. Well if your lot are going to make the playoffs it'll have to be by the wild card now I would think. Admittedly, this shouldn't be too hard with the South & West going on strike for the season. My guess is the playoffs looking like: Dallas Green Bay Tampa/Carolina/New Orleans Seattle/Arizona WC: Giants/Washington & Detroit New England Cheats Pittsburgh Indianapolis/Jacksonville/Tennessee San Diego WC: Whoever doesn't make the Colts division/Cleveland/Buffalo (Bold being who I reckon'll do it)
  17. I think people have mellowed a little with Warnock. The realisation that we were being shafted by them above and the even worse brand of football of our previous manager seems to make us forget some of the away 'performances'. Ronnie would still get it, as despite BB80's claims, I still believe we wouldn't be heading anywhere good and it was the most dull football any fan could ever have. Ever.
  18. My favourite person to boo. It was fantastic as everyone would go mental at him whenever he came near. I'd add Brian Deane.
  19. Just put buses on from Gillingham and ship the fat-faced fans in. To be honest, that is one of the biggest untapped areas, if not the biggest, in the Country. If it is going to work, that's where it'll work. I don't think it sticks too much of a chance, but it was worth £35 for the fun of it.
  20. Well following on from the wage levels at the various clubs, someones is about to go through the roof. A-Rod is on the market having gone out as a free agent (knocking back over $70M in three years in the process). Seems there are a whole heap load of options out there, not least Anaheim and the Dodgers who seem right up there. San Fran may try and replace one wage hogger with another in an attempt to keep their stadium full. Even Florida are being put forward (as they want their new stadium full). Obviously people are looking for a third baseman-less club but the word is that he wants back at shortstop to pick up some golden gloves which went missing at the Yankees due to losing that position to Jeter. Others out as free agents include Curt Schilling and David Eckstein - although both of them are getting pretty much past it now and are surely just out for one last pay deal).
  21. Sadly, I was off giving it z's after 1's apiece. As you say though Saturday is a must win for Colorado. Lose and I can see them going in four and everyone thinking 'if only a decent team had got through'.
