    That's been an issue since the beginning of time. Listened to a podcast a while ago from one of the Blackburn players in the team who was on (from memory) £750 a week when Shearer arrived. Said his salary was astronomical in comparison but everyone recognised he deserved it as he won them the league. You'd like to think the same philosophy applied here.

    I think he'd be tempted. There are definitely a few on here who could confirm or deny that but with some assurances with a long-term project, you'd think our ceiling is higher than Barrow's.

    Just another example of what appears to be a strange decision on the face of it... Tollit's contract extension based on a few good performances. Had a few bad ones and hasn't had a look in since. Odd.

    And they're all his signings anyway. Either way, he's not really got an excuse this season. Early doors but he'll know the buck stops with him now. He's been given a lot of leeway so far. I think he'll be feeling the pressure already.

    Either we'll improve massively over the next 6-8 games or we'll get rid and someone will have the vast majority of the season of the season to get the most out of a very decent squad. Win win for me.

    Even better... Just read a bit more of the thread and someone mentioned the Oldham 'rumour' a few days ago. Apparently, Norwood is a bit of a joker and was clearly having a laugh . I'm getting some popcorn in for the rest of it.

    I originally thought the same. However, having just had a quick scan of a Barnsley forum and realising that, pretty much to a man, they wanted to keep him, I now see this as a coup. He'll score loads. E I E I E I O Also I reckon Nuttall will be on his way out.

    Steve Whitehall scenario. Top scorer from a division below and big things expected. I do think he'll end up being a first choice and scoring goals though (based on nothing other than soundbites from Chester fans). I imagine he's getting to grips with the fitness levels a division higher (again based on guesswork). Bit premature to talk of him being banished.

    If they're all getting done, it does seem a bit daft to come back on yourself as many times as you'd have to in that last section. Looks good though.
