  2. Apparently PD combed the freed list for him, let's hope he gels with one of our other strikers. He was a cut above in Newcastle's reserves. Brushing all that aside, something for the weekend?
  3. Alloa Crawley East fife Pissed up palace Sorry can't do my own quiz if right, only on phone
  4. From Reid's last few appearances, I thought he'd already left football.
  5. Excellent posts, condolences to you and your family peanuts. I started going with my gramp in the late 60's, and we had some great times, with home games in the old broadway stand, I was then a ballboy from around 70 to 74, including the promotion season, when we also went to Southport on that easter Monday and York too. Loads of great memories, without him i wouldn't have these. His photo from 1990 with the Littlewoods Cup , that he queued to have taken in the old Littlewods store in Oldham, is still pride of place above our fireplace. Sadly he passed away in 2000, though from where he is in Royton cemetary you can see the Latics floodlights above the trees, so he's never far away. I've also passed on our great club to my 3 kids, and even though a couple of them live away in London and south Shields, they still go when back home, and we've had a few away days in and around London together too. Definitaly renewing my season ticket too, even more so after reading all these posts.
  6. I don't think even Greek Phil sees Liz's t1ts. A left back who could be a kid on loan How about Adam Griffin? A comanding centre half with experince to actually lead at the back Nathan Clarke? A dirty little sod to play in the middle of the park who will put it about (If wes dont sign or injuries ruin his season again) A out and out winger who just gets it in the mixer nothing flash Try Nicky Ajose, Bury have had him a couple of times, could we pay more than them for a loanee? One striker who just poaches i.e stays in the :censored:ing box dont go wondering around, he can be the laziest sod ever as long as he is there to poach 15 plus goals a season Try Scott Spencer from Hyde, or another one from non league, keen and eager, and got some experience, more than Dr Who. A quick nippy striker who commits defenders and puts them under pressure Bowery from Chesterfield, if they get relegated. Good teams to look at to recruit players for the above and other positions would be: From teams who've been promoted from League one, who think players may not be good enough for the championship. Like Wes from Peterborough. From teams who've been relegated from League One, who are good League one players. Like Brentford got Jonathan Douglas from Swindon, and we got Richie Wellens from Blackpool. Up and coming loanees ( though not too many) from Premier League or Chamionship teams. e.g Aidy White, Ryan Bertrand, Lee Croft, Kilkenny,
  7. Probably quite like Wes in playing style, so it would be one or the other. A fit Wes for me, but if not, then Jones would fit the bill well.
  8. agree that getting simpson to re sign is more important than kuqi, based on the last 6 months form. if kuqi was paid based on goals scored that my well be a different story.
  9. Latics 1 - Charlton 2 Simpson 4,345 first time i think I've predicted a defeat.
  10. last night I thought you were an f.wit, now i don't. I can see you care about your team, and where it is.
  11. He's a fan, paid his money and is entitled to his opinion, like us all. It would be like Latics to beat one of Charlton or Wednesday, don't put more than a couple of quid on it though.
