  1. What do we think the crowd will be on Saturday? I'll go for 3,800 with 350 from franchise FC. Last season it was 3,630 and that was on a Tuesday night, won 2-1, with sheehan's great goal, and that curler from good old Kiegan Parker. Our average attendance last season was 4,630, and so far this season it's 4,407. Statto , over and out.
  2. the ginger diver has put us 1-0 up. who's 38 Burns?
  3. Modern'ish era Eyresy Warney Pogs Furman Darren Sheridan Older Andy Barlow Tricky Ricky Jim Fryatt Jim Bowie Maurice 90 miles an hour Mark Ward
  4. Anyone got any ideas as to what the big announcement will be at the end of season dinner, as mentioned in Saturday's programme? I hope it turns out not to be a damp squib. I have a thought - well maybe a dream - that they are going to announce the signing of Paul Scholes for next season. There are a few things that make me hope that this may be true, and I know it's all wishful thinking and we've hoped for it before, but here goes: 1) Don't think he's yet signed for United for next season. 2) Season ticket holders have until May 19th to claim their tickets for next season, after which they cannot be guaranteed their current seat. Previously we've had until some time in July to do this, so they MUST ( ) be expecting a mad rush then. 3) The White Hart is pretty much his nearest watering hole, after the Farrars. 4) I'm completely barking.
  5. If I was Warren Feeney I'd try as hard as possible in training and look sharp and interested, and prove all us doubters wrong. Maybe next week - oh no I forgot you're playing for your beloved norn iron. I bet he's played more games for them this season than us, well starts anyway. We desparately need a striker who can score. I know that's a very obvious statement. I do know 2 strikers who score very week - Jordan.
  6. Amos made 5 or 6 very good saves yesterday, and i too thought their goal must have been deflected, from the angle where we were sat. We maybe had only 2 or 3 shots in the whole game. Kieran Lee was ok, Traky did wha he needed to do,Amos made some good saves, and apart from that the rest were poor. Tounkare eeeds to be rested, and it says a lot for the other so called strikers on the bench that Dickov brought Trotman on and put him and Tarky up front , rather than bring a sub striker on. Brighton at home could be a cricket score, but you never know , it may be one of these where they should win big, and we scrape it 1-0 to end our dismal run, but I wouldn't put more than a fiver on that, of your money.
  7. If you were Dickov, would you stay? There's going to be a reduced budget next season, not knowing where we're going to play, possible administration. Phoenix from the flames, but recently he's looked decidedly less positive, and so many things are outside his control. I know he knew that when he took the job, but I bet it's x times harder than he thought. Try riding a bike in treacle, with both hands tied behind your back.
  8. The Tranmere game is the that the club is thinking of/looking to do/??? reduced admission price at again. They mentioned it briefly at the fans forum at Tara Lesiure last week. Not sure of price, or if it's been confirmed, or if they have local business sponsorhsip or Chron backing etc?
  9. Not sure what the calculation is, but oin Radio Macnhester before the game Simon Corney said around 7,200 gate would be break even for last night.
  10. I'm a Latics fan first, and england second, and I've got and wear both shirts. why would you have and wear a Chelsea shirt?
  11. 43 years, first went in 1967, not sure who against, in old broadway stand, before the ford stand was built. first memory sadly is v south shields '69 or so, when we lost to a non league tteam at home in the cup. not sure how many games in total but at an average of about 20 a season it must be 800+ maybe only a few left at BP, but we'll re emerge somewhere else. corney and Hardy are not daft, they've got a plan, and won't let us die
  12. Pets at home at the Elk have already bought 10 x £500 goldfish on the strength of old Pete sailing on in.
  13. Ackey, you make a whole heap of sense, good on you. Having spent hours reading these posts over the last few days about the latest events, there's one thing that binds everyone together: We all really care about Latics. Different opinions, different views and lots of banter. Keep the faith.
