  1. My view on todays came (and thats all it is, is my view) I thought we came out very poorly, it was like the players had been told to pass less than previous games and try more direct. I dont think this worked and in the second half we came out passing like we have been doing in previous weeks. I think overall though, we should have won and couldve won if it wasnt for some bad misses and some brave defending from Bristol. I think they were a bunch of time wasters and had no right to complain about 8 minutes injury time. I think its amazing to see how different the players we had last season are performing, for instance, last season, i thought Furman ran around like a headless chicken (maybe it was Penneys tactics) but this year he seems to be more controlling in central mid. I think vocally he would have been a better captain today than Dale Stephens. Lee for me has always shown quality and has now been given a chance he is taking it and holdin his place. Thought Mvoto and Jarrett had a shakey start, but second half they were solid. I think Dikaba was great today, hugged the touchline well, showed some great touches and found a lot of space, and in my opinion i think Dickov was wrong to take him off, although he probably isnt fully match fit. I think Tounkara is a good player, great hold up play and is working a harder than i thought he would. Think he needs to put a couple in the net to build his confidence, but I also think he needs some work on his heading in training. We wouldve been out of sight if he had put his 2 chances away. Am glad we bagged just before half time as the fans werent as critical/booing. I think if we play like we did in the second half and Kelly starts finding his shooting boots, we will be unstoppable Dissapointed with a draw but lots of positives.
  2. I have to dissagree on your scoring. Brill way ok, more like a 7. Mvoto and Jarrett had a really poor first half but both were solid in second half, so I think 3 for Mvoto was unfair. Black was ok, he was taking a lot of traffic down his flank and he put a few good crosses in, certainly not a 4. And thats all i got to say about that... however offical matchball sponsors man of the match was Taylor, which was unfair on Furnam
  3. I think he has been since Notts county, maybe he set the bar too high in the first couple of games
  4. No the main stand is mainly full of old codgers who love a good moan. You selling everlasting god stoppers? Give us some peace?
  5. He was affective in the 1st half, but didnt see much out of him 2nd, think we were more down the right in the second.
  6. Gutted, couldnt update my standing order as its due out tomorrow, so once its out, i will up it to £10 a month instead of £5!
  7. This lad seemed ok tonight. His last ditch tackle to stop them going 2 up was brilliant. I think we could have a good one here. I think he could play wide right easily and if Lee got injured drop back. Anyways, I've already signed up to this, and use my money how you will! Might even up my standing order Tonight was poor though lol
  8. What I thought we lacked were 2 things. 1) Lack of seniority 2) Lack of shots (sonfidence to shoot) I didnt get to saturdays game due to holiday, and was suprised tonight to see Tounkara dropped to the bench. I though when he and the new lad (not sure of his name - played right mid) came on we looked more dangerous than we had all game. Maybe on saturday if Jones isnt fit he should start. He made a blinding tackle to stop them going 2 up. I'm all up for a nice attractive passing game, but we need to shoot to be able to score. Team for saturday (depending on severity of Rubes and Jarretts injuries) Brill Lee Rubes (if not him then McDonald) Jarrett (if not him then Mvoto by deafault) Black Dikaba Furman Stephens Taylor Tounkara DJ Bembo Keep up the passing but ffs SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
  9. But they didnt win the last one, but, Feeney. Again, Dickov has said many times he sees him as the main goal getter this year. Either way we will win 3 - 1 Goals from Tounkare (think thats how its spelt), Feeney will open his account and then one from M'Voto, from a corner. Come one you bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeesssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
  10. In all fairness, I didnt think Showumni was that bad, made a nuicence of himself, should have scored that header at the start but with the right wing play, you could do well up front. As for Ian "Thomas" Moore, he played well, but like you say, rose to it. I do however think that if 1700 people were calling my mum a whore, id probably rise to it, although he probably agrees about his dad!
  11. Have faith in Dean Brill. He is brimming with confidence, which may get shot to :censored: once the "fans" start booing him. I will admit his positioning for a couple of free kicks last season was rubbish. However, he has been solid in pre season, very vocal and seems to have the full support of our management team. Think he is being trained better and smarter by Gerrard too. There must be something Flemming i doing wrong if managers keep wanting rid of him. Anyways, lets back Brill. The keeper sees the whole game from his box and can play a massive part in organizing the defence. There is a lot to be said for a keeper not having a lot of saves to make as he has managed to orchestrate the defence into minimising the chances on goal. We have already seen his haid go when he gets boo'd so we need really need to keep his head up.
  12. I'd like to help, let me know how to get you the money and its done. In for a pound and all that. Id pay just to kep Dale Stephens from beind sold to the highest bidder!
  13. Isnt it time that the "when should penney go?" pole was taken off the fornt page of the message board? Sorry to all those hoping for anything interestig, i should have put the above in the sub header so people didnt have to open it
  14. Highlight of the last 5 seasons to be honest. I think we need to look to a player who will stay with us, someone to love the club and someone who the fans love. Gregan is the nearest thing we have to a legend these days. Not likely to get any legends if we keep loaning players see link if you missed the appearance
  15. Nice to see plenty of people getting the new shirt. I am swaying towards getting my season ticket, despite the fact i will miss 50% of the games
  16. Nice one, i have a couple of these but thanks for the others
  17. Am looking to put a cd together for my 1 hour drive to BP and am looking for people to recommentd music which the teams come out to or music that reminds them of boundary park (please no influx of smiths/morrissey songs) Cheers in advance
  18. I was happy with the way the game flowed, much mire enjoyable to watch than one that gets stopped every few minutes.
  19. I think :censored: hasnt played because he and Penny have had a disagreement. But think he proved today, no matter what happens of the pitch, you need to play your best players!
