  1. Davis huffed and puffed last week but looked sluggish IMHO and didnt seem dangerous altho he tried hard. When COG came on he scared the Dippers back line - winning virtually everything in the air. LA and COG could do the biz for me - but dont rule out DS - again last week his presence for the last few mins was encouraging - winning lots in the air and looking strong. Perm 2 from LA, COG and DS for me ! (assumin LH aint available of course !!) DS = Dean Smalley and not Diego Sideburns btw !!

  3. yep - thought it would be quicker thru the 'Pool but traffic a real mare - think it was all that metal spider stuff and they closed a load of roads down - caused chaos goin towards tunnel and missed a bit of time in the Clipper because of it. No probs getting back tho - mind you when ur top o t'league it dont really matter !!!!! come on you blueeessss !!!!
  4. should have beem more ! Greegs scared em :censored:less ! Very poor home support Subs also looked good Ronnies still a w**ker !! Played as solid unit Bring on the franchise !
  5. passed the carlton after the game - about 30 scraggy chavs with hoodies up waiting nearby for a bit of bovver being closely watched by van load of old bill. More scary was the reception committee by the door - neanderthal knuckle-draggers looking for Oldham blood ... quickly changed my mind about quick celebratory pint and jovial banter with our tramp hosts and opted for nice pint back at Rifle range rather than night in a&e - total pondlife ! onwards n upwards !
  6. typical old bill re football fans - they over-react and treat any minor incident twenty times worse than had it happened on a night out or in a town cwntre. Quiet warning would have been sensible but time and time again they offer a caution or otherwise threaten to keep you locked up for longer - problem is a caution is an admission of guilt and also counts as a persons criminal record if I am not mistaken. It means in order to get out of a trumped up charge you aquire a criminal record that may have to be disclosed at job interviews etc. Piss poor. Cautions are old bill's easy way of giving you a criminal record and getting your prints and DNA on the cheap. Scandalous.
  7. thanx for all the help fellas ! Hopefully have sorted tickets but if it dosnt work out hope oldham59's contact can come good ! Thanx again folks. onwards n upwards !
  8. Wonder if any fellow 'tics who go abroad to watch any footie can help. its my lads 18th soon and am taking him to Amsterdam for a few days to show him the sights and chill out and I thought taking in an Ajax match would be good - prob is I cant seem to buy tickets only on t'internet - all they seem to sell are packages that include meals/tours etc. All i want are 2 match tickets. Does anyone know if you can just buy on the day or is there another way of getting tickets ? Thanx fellas. I know the mods will prob move this post soon as it aint Latics related but have posted it on main section as i know most only look there !. thanx again guys in anticipation of your help !
  9. sheer class wins matches ! Bossed the whole game who needs craig davis ? cheltenham support piss poor it just gets better neil eardly cant cross wtf with them corners ??? bring on the dingles !!!!!!!!!!!
  10. another lancashire derby - good awayday for us - quick to get to and should be crackin atmosphere again. Burnley battered on opening day of season - no need to fear them ! come on you blueeessss !!! - or come on you fluro-monkey-sickssssss !!!!!
  11. went for a few beers in the dale bar at the ground - (very few 'tics btw ! )- chattin to a few dale fans i know who were in town early doors and they said that they were seriously intimidated by latics fans that they fired off to spotland early doors. I asked them about the rochdale 'yoof' - 1 guy told me that they had asked him to join them and were plotted up in the backstreets but when they say the massed ranks of Latics fans they quickly melted away !. Piss poor home crowd and simply because of our support we deserved the result ! onwards and upwards but hope nerxt time we actually threaten to score a bit more - after all thats what it all about innit ??
  12. once Davies got sent off it was backs against the wall job and tbh we never looked in danger - prob was we never ever looked liked scoring either. Pens were class - we totally bossed it and always looked in control. Overall gud nite out and loadsa booze but from football pov we wernt at the races. Anyway , after gettin out of jail on sat and again tonite, maybe you make your own luck ! onwards and upwards !!!! come on you blueeessssssss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Hughesyyyyyy !!!!! - Latics fans all over rochdale - the little rochdale yoof legged it early doors and town totally blue . Dont worry about anyone - cream rises to the top - come on you blueeesssssssss !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh happy days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. latest weather report 12.40 - from outside Globe pub in wardle - just stopped raining and looking bright - time to pop in globe and start the build up to tonights goalfest - get the beers lashing down not the rain ! come on you bluuueeesss !!!
  15. the king of doom and gloom about all things Latics creaming himself when former 'tic hero badly doneby so his treasured fenians get lucky win - priceless ! Will you be the one in green hoops, irish tricolour, red scottish/irish wig singing anti-english songs at Spotland tomorrow mr guernica?? - get a life !!
  16. IMHO both Davis and O'Grady looked very ordinary today and never really worried Milwall - when Hughes and Lewis came on they pulled the defence all over and threatened continuously - think its pretty clear that we would have lost that game today without the subs - that says it all - either Lewis or Hughes up top or even both ! The other 2 huffed and puffed but never looked threatening !. Bring on the dale !!
  17. Its all about acoustics - Chaddy was giving it large second half but we all know the outcome about roof etc .... RRE looked good but Chaddy was still rockin and rollin ! bring on Rochdale !!
  18. Postiive attitude wins games Crossley will cost us Can we playmilwall everyweek ? O'Grady and Davis needtowakeup ! Feckin belter first game ! Bring on da Dale !!! Oh when the blueeessss ...........
  19. FFS !! - Gregan bossed the game ! - was up for it unlike Rubes and a few others - wasnt until subs came on that momentum was raised and it was game on - O'grady and davis looked like all theu had to do was turn up - Lewis and Hughes showed them that attitude counts ! onwards and upwards ! Bring on da Dale !!
  20. FFS fellas !!!! - this is Rochdale not the Bronx !! - have lived here many years and altho many of the pubs are mingin and unwelcoming there are many many tougher ones in Oldham to be sure !. Most Dale fans I know are decent folk who are really looking foward to the banter and welcome the opportunity to share a few scoops with us Biffos !. the so called Rochdale Yoof are a small bunch of spotty teenagers aged 15/16/17 who probably havnt started shaving yet and are still waiting for their balls to drop, never mind have their first pint ! - no worries about them !. No real Dale fans will be looking for trouble. Rochdale, like any town, has its share of neanderthal deadlegs but I seriously dont thing that there will be any probs in town centre due to GMP and the massed ranks of Latics fans that we see on most away days will be safe. A few all day drinkers who arrive early doors and get tanked up might antagonise a few but the same applies to anytown anytime !. No need for any worries folks - Rochdale certainly aint this wild frontier town that its being painted as !!. Mind you - avoid the Highland Laddie near failange on the way to Spotland .... now that probably is the Bronx !!. Good call earlier on previous thread - Dog and Partridge or Elephant and Castle further up Bury Rd - decent pubs with no trouble and still walking distance from Spotland. All together now ' Oh when the bluuueeesssss......'
  21. Just driving thru Rochdale earlier I noticed that so many pubs have recently closed that it may affect our watering hole choices next week. The Cemetry on corner of Sandy Lane and Bury Rd has been closed for several days now following repeated vandalism - smashed windows and graffiti on walls and I'm told that people who own resturant above are taking it over but its still stut at mo and this would prob be a venue for many 'tics !. For those coming via Castleton the George and Dragon has been shut for a while now and the Church (a few 'tics did go there) is now boarded up. The Clog and Shawl on Roach Valley Way is now boarded up also altho Wagon and Horses next to it is open but its a real shed !. For those going by train the one on the corner closed a few years ago but in last few days the Citizen on corner by Drake St is now boarded up as well !. Looks like the Litten Tree, Flying Horse, regal Moon or Yatses in town centre are only options or else sharing a few bottles of strongbow and meths will the local pondlife in Broadfield park !!
  22. never ceases to amaze mw why so many support the anti-English hooped fenians when they have such close affiliations to republican terrorists in ireland ... ah well. Funny that the only teams who get on with them south of the border are those redshirts from the Irish capital (liverpool !) and the some of the redsox - any team that Roy 'break your legs' Keane wants to manage sums it all up really !! come on ya blueeesss !!! (Latics and the mighty Gers !)
  23. first heros were Keith bebbington and Jim Fryatt then David Shaw and Grovsey Maurice Whittle ( remember that goal at York anyone, or pen v redsox at BP ?) and Ian Wood Simon Stainrod, Vic Halom Andy Ritchie - class of his own !! Neil redfern obviously !! Ah the good old days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. mixed feelings - got STs in Chaddy and am partial to a pint or 6 of JWL bitter and my lads drinks Strongbow for England so am feeling like have missed out on Rocky Rd .... then again have remembered that LDB will be plotted up in RRE .... you lot will need all that extra booze at HT to numb the pain on eardrums of our favourite percussionist !!!!
