  1. the carlisle pen was dire decision and we were hard done by all game there but the pen at Accy in paint pot was nailed on - Greegan grabbed their striker full on and it was a clear pen to me and typical of Greegs thinking he can get away with murder when he feels like it ! Not too chuffed with him in charge but he owes us a few favours after Carlisle !
  2. rifle range - since new owners took over its become a proper Latics pub with photos n shirts etc on walls. What used to really hack me off was all plastic manc armchair 'supporters' cheering on redsox early doors for lunchtime sky match. Good Latics pub again with decent beer and only 5-10 mins from chaddy end ! cant wait ..... mind you - Tandle Hill tavern worth a shout early on - good grub now n nice atmosphere before poppin into RR for top-up !
  3. good luck to all - beyond brave - all my best wishes and hope operation is total success ! Puts things into perspective again. Phil .
  4. a very sad day - the world is a much darker place with one of the really good guys cruely taken away. Ernie was a brave young man of the old school - honest, brave, fair, a real trier with the heart of a lion and manners of a true gentleman. God bless you Ernie - rest in peace. Phil .
  5. yep - was just goin to put wayne gill in the frame but beaten to it - what about Dean Crowe ? - one of Talbolts masterstrokes - the least effective striker eva ? - or that champions league superstar michael clegg ?? - crappper than crap !!
  6. Totally devasting news - a rare bright flame of honesty and effort and sheer professionalism in the modern world of prima donna jet-setters ! Ernie is a real latics legend as he always gave 200% and battled like a lion !. Every latics fan who can needs to go to Spotland on 12th and sing their hearts out as a mark of respect all match regardless of the result - some things are more important and cant be forgotton ! One Ernie Cooksey .. theres only one Ernie Cooksey !!!!
  7. was in shop just before 5pm tonite and I saw them on top of a box - looked absoloutly dire and really weak colour - no way will ever get one - not a patch on past shirts - huge mistake IMHO and looked even worse than I imagined it would and thats sayin something !! Shudav kept the tangerine dream alive !!
  8. Hey Rocky ! How are ya mate ?. Wasnt meanin the Dale 'yoof posse' went in the Church - I know most who go in there are seriously embarrassed by their antics and that the yoofs would run a mile if anyone ever fronted them up ! I know also most Daleys dont actually hate Latics but they tend to be dismissive and the green-eyed monster appears ! Wouldnt be good to loose to em tho - its their cup final after all !! Oh, and just where will LBD be sittin ?? - maybe dale can give him a section to himself in main stand ?? ;)
  9. Absolute crackin draw ! - waited ages for this one. I remember as a young gun goin to a few derbies at spotland - once in the FA cup I think on a sat when we took over the ground - packed the sandy Lane out - and another night match when same happened !. Live and work in Rochdale - they will be sick as parrots when we beat em - no love lost there - too many are seriously jealous of us Biffos !!. Cemetery Inn for me - good atmosphere and decent booze and only 5 mins from ground. Most pubs will be fine - the Church is the 'home' pub but isnt a problem. Our league 2 neighbours do have an irritating band of mini-chavs thou - a la Bindippers - expect some mild baiting from their teenybop wannabe straggle of spotty youffs ! bring it on !! - made my day ! oh, most importantly ..... just where will LDB be sittin ?????? ;)
  10. dont forget our blue 40 - or LDB senior - tells his lad to drum as loud as he can and sit where he wants, and then fecks off to the far corner of the chaddy ! priceless !. If he is so keen on LDB percussion skills, perhaps he should sit next to him and chaperone him at all times - perhaps he just might slightly change his views then - NIMBY !! priceless !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. it seems to me that a lot on here are being very PC and ranting on about freedom of choice etc - the tail is deffo wagging the dog here guys - a lad - loyal supporter maybe - decides to plonk himself where he wants and everyone else should jiust say 'fine' - and let it go. If we now can all do what we want i'll bring a barrel of ale with me and a bloody tuba and dont give a stuff about anyone else if thats the rules of the game. I know its all been exhausted on here but the fact that a lad can plonk himself anywhere and mindlessly beat his drum dont make him superfan in my opinion. And if people do decide to 'object' - remember last years sorry episode that resulted in needless police activity and 7 ST's not renewed because of it. Say what you like about atmosphere and freedom of choice - LDB is costin Latics in their pockets by drivin away good loyal supporters who object to having a drum imposed on their space. Thank god he aint in the Chaddy next year !. why we need, alow or even encourage a drum is beyond me - well done Alan Hardy on another PR disaster !
  12. just bought 2 this afternoon - in Chaddy now I know the LDB has relocated to RRE! No queues at all tho and in the row I go in there was a huge choice of seats not taken up. Not promising but I have a good feel about next season as long as we can keep crucial players fit and with young 'uns coming on well. Onwards and upwards!!
  13. Live in Rochdale but Latics thru and thru. I know so many Dale fans who seriously love to diss the Latics as they have had feck all to cheer over the years and to be honest are a bit jealous of our escapades in the higher leagues playin the top teams over the years. To them we are BIFFOs and they generally like to see us wither on the vine. To be honest, would love them to get promoted only because I cant wait to turn Spotland into a sea of Latics as we batter them for the three points needed to facilitate our escape to pastures new. Good luck to em - they are a young team who battle to the end but if Stockport win , so be it - another local derby - bring it on. Rochdale fans dont give two about us - why should we be misty-eyed about them ? I know several work colleagues who went to play-offs - mainly for p**s-up in Regal Moon and big day out. Loads more are going to wemberlee for day out - Bolton fans etc who live in Rochdale - fact is even if they win and get promoted, vast majority wont ever watch them again - thats life. Will watch it on sky and not waste money cheering on a postcode team. Well done the winners - now lets do the double on ya next season !! Come on you blueeeessssss !!!!!!!
  14. from Rochdale myself and would love the local derby - I remember as a kid when we last played them in both league and FA cup when virtually the whole of Spotland was Latics and the atmosphere was electric ! Bring it on ! On the other hand I know loads of Dale fans and tbh they generally are very disparaging about Latics (or BIFFO's as they like to call us - Big Ignorant F**kers From Oldham !). Maybe they are jealous - not sure, but I would love to turn em over twice next season ! - mind you , I like the away days at Stockport too (Eryseeeeeeeey !!)
  15. Bartons lowlife scum. Put in context of cigar in eye incident, kicking Everton fan on far east tour and attack on Dabo he really dosnt learn his lesson. Hope he gets the sh*t kicked out of him in the nick to show him whats its like - he wont be billy bigbollocks in there. On the Dabo incident my mate coaches with citehs academy and at the time he told me Dabo give him a gental shove and billybigbolloxbarton laid into him, got him on the ground and repeatedly battered him before being dragged off by teammarwes. Pure scum. He never deserves to play professional football again. Should be banned for lif
  16. At the risk of repeating the obvious and recycling old news just thought i'd add my twopenneth to the debate. I have never posted any rumours re my mates mate has a mate whose brother overheard in the launderstte etc, but fact is a very close mate of mine is on citehs books and coaches with the academy there. He is also good mates with our Earle and I have met him many times thru him - point is hes genuine and 100% down the line. He gave me heads up on Sven and also knew of Steve Bruce to Wigan long before it became news and we all had a few bob on it. To cut to the chase, he knows our Micah well from academy days and he believes its a real runner and that all but sorted he will sign for redsox imminently for £25 mill plus. Not 100% that it will happen but 100% that serious negociations have been ongoing for a while now. fear not fellow tics - cash will be on the way to BP coffers in near future ! (well, maybe, ... )
  17. Didnt get an ST last season for the first time in many a year and the main reason was the nonsense surrounding the drummer and his legal action against a mate of mine who objected to his space being invaded by the innane drumming - I know this has been exhausted on here but the fact is that it did cost Latics 7 season tickets last season. I went to a few games with my lad on a pay-on-the-day basis but it wasnt the same with my 5 mates missing. If I renew this season I need to know where the drummer boy will be plotted up or else I'll keep my hard earned in my pocket again ! Problem is that once you get used to doing the unthinkable on a saturday afternoon - ie not having a few drinks then not watching Latics, somehow you find other things to do !. I hope to be back this year but the drummer could swing it either way ! So come on fella ..... just where will you be sitting ???
  18. An honest, gritty grafter - not without skill who always played it true and straight - epitomised all thats good about football in times of prima donnas and cheaters. Thanx for the memories Ernie - you are a real sporting star ! Phil.
  19. Wolfy is a good squad player - full of heart and tries his best but tbh he aint got the technical skill, speed, height, bulk or nous to really worry any defenders at our level. Sure - he will score a goal or two - but what striker wouldnt given the chances that come every strikers way in the box ?. If we saw teams at BP with strikers like Wolfy our own defenders eg Greegs, Stam, Ruben etc would be lickin their lips every week !. Wish the lad well but due to his physique etc he aint ever gonna cut it or make a name for himself in League 1. If the Dale dont go up then maybe he could ply his trade theire for a couple of seasons. Nice geeza, but not quite up to the mark IMHO.
  20. agree with most about keepin the tangerine dream alive but otherwise would go for the black/blue one - like what was poster earlier - grim reaper black !!! - luv it !!. scare the oppo sh*tless !!
  21. there are scum 'fans' at every club and tbh in a place like liverpool there certainly will be more chavs and scallies than in most places so its not surprising that we have some bad memories - didnt they trash a pub on Rochdale Rd a few years ago ?? (white hart ?). All that accepted , given the fact it was a few years ago, I found all the Evertonians I met yesterday to be gracious, friendly and decent folk who accepted defeat with dignity and wished us well !. Apart from the steward who kept telling me to sit down and that people behind were complaining - when I pointed out to him I was on the back row and behind me was a tunnel he said if I argued he'd throw me out ! - cue the goal and everyone then stood for the entire second half !! - jobsworth lacking in common sense ! Thanx also to the Latics fan who helped me hobble to the coaches after badly twisting my knee - you are a true gent sir !
  22. every single one stood tall and battled away - they all deserve it. Agree about Hughes - battled and fought as hard as anyone and helped us retain possession and gain throw-ins time and time again - also by staying upfield he gave us an outlet to relieve the pressure rather than get all men behind the ball and invite pressure on us- same with Davies too ! Havin said that, Gary Mac MOM for me for obvious reason !!!
  23. Diego , there aint no-one more annoying than the drummer !! get a grip !!
  24. cant make this one mr B as on jols in sunny spain - at least you dont have to abandon us is the pub on the way back this time !!. Keep us in the frame for future BB trips though. Phil.
  25. from my position very close to the events , rowzed's tale is 100% accurate - mr LDB senior has posted on this board that he would be 100% truthful, honest, unbiased etc - total garbage. its clear that mr LDB senior likes his son to disturb others, deliberately provoke situations well away from his own quiet oasis furher away in the chaddy and then go running to dibble for malicious reasons. The same LDB who was in the company of racist behaviour at Brentford lets not forget. Without keep raking over old ground just ask yourself folks : Whos in the right, who has been punished and who's a right pain in the backside ?? : You decide !! (i already have : rowzed, rowzed and LDB in that order !! ) either get rid of the drum sonny or sit with daddy and bash away and see how he likes it !!
