  1. all sorted - went to tkt office with STs from Chaddy End and got plum seats in RRE no probs. Thanx for advice and PMs !
  2. As RRE'ers have to move to smaller section was wonderin if anyone fancied swapping tickets for this match to Chaddy End as I fancy trying view from RRE for a change. Have got 2 good seats with ST on back row of lower section of Chaddy End to centre right of the goal (as its on back row and by tunnel to bookies etc behind, you can also stand without any grief too !). As there are a few untaken seats around you could easily move to any 'prime' spot if you get there before kick-off too !. If anyone fancies relocating to Chaddy End for this match and swap your RRE tickets pls PM me. Thanx.
  3. a few happy-clappers on here seem to think its wrong to criticise young Eardly - why ?? - we pay good money to be entertained and support our team with a passion and we get emotional when mistakes are made. Now I am not for one second condoning the personal abuse Eardly got last night - that was out of order - but its legitimate to criticise a player who made far too many errors for comfort. Granted, he isnt all bad but a professional footballer should have a better distribution as these wayward crosses have gone on for too long. Its also unrealistic to assume every Latics player can outtackle the opposition every time and win every 50/50 ball and the Monkeyhanger on the left wing was more than useful but Eards was all at sea at times and so criticism is fair. Also dont know how that late Hartlepool chance went wide and corner given - from where I was sat it seem a nailed on goal and I thought it had actually gone in ! (sorry guys but Eards was skinned again to get that cross in btw !). Praise when they do well but its only fair to criticise when mistakes are made ! Eardly had a mare last night and criticism is fair - personal abuse is not.
  4. Not one for ' my mates mums hairdresser heard in the chippy etc' but ... a bloke I work with is involved with Bratfurt and also knows Stuart McCall and his version is that Windy turned up at Bratfurt v Morcambe and told McCall that he was p****d off by not getting a shirt at Hull and would be interested in returning on loan - McCall told him that he didnt fit in with his plans as he wanted youth for the future rather than experience. McCall then went to BP to see Shez and asked about COG who he rated - the loan deal was done - at the same time he told Shez that Windy was available and he could do a good job for the 'Tics - next up talks and he signs up. Not sure if its 100% but from usually reliable source. What does it tell us ?? - Shez prefers Windy over COG, McCall prefers COG over Windy or that COG dosnt figure in Shez long term thinking ? Anyway Windy looked class last nite - didnt look as fearsome without bleached skinhead but with him and Hughes up front should scare most defences witless !. Onwards and upwards .....
  5. yep - 2 pls Mr B - will ensure the lads on his bestest behaviour tho - fancy doin return journey this time ! (unless I pay £7.50 for him 1 way and the rest if he dont get lifted! )
  6. The guys an absolute tool and most of his decisions beggar belief but when i've seen him hes generally been good to the 'tics ! should be good entertainment nevertheless ! should be a good day out now - few beers, moore beers, cheering all the Latics goals and laughing at miserable yerkshire numpties and the refs decisions ... and then a few more celebratory drinks on the way back over the hill to civilization again ! bring it on .....
  7. Hard to believe that with COG and Smaley on the bench and Lee looking very uninvolved and lacking any penetration and bye-bye Byfield posturing and posing but actually doing very little except trying to look pretty on the ball and blazing the best chance over that Lidds and Whittaker came on !. We badly need goals at home and with COG and Smalley on I think we have more chance than with Byfield and Lee/Lidds. Just an opinion like, but to leave with everyone around saying 'whens the next home draw then?' sums up the fans frustrations. We have the players for the game needed at home, unfortunately Shez dont play em ! At least we are away next week - attacking footie and three points again then !! . Byfield aint the answer mr Shez - neither was Ormerod either - we have the right players to win games on our books - please play them !!
  8. A woman who I work with recently gave me a big glass paperweight Oldham owl , bout 12" tall, that she said was in her garage. She said it was given to her ex-husbands firm for sponsoring the Latics v Spurs match, wed 20th April 1994 but that the game didnt take place ???. The inscription reads ' OLdham Athletic v Tottenham Hotspur Wednesday 20th April 1994. Oldham Athletic Owl Limited Edition 29/100. Anyone know result of game and was it postponed ?? - cant remember ! also is it worth out ?? will put photo on linky thing but it dosnt do it justice - no, sorry, cant seem to put pic on, any help anyone ??
  9. Looks like we have a jolly decent bunch of fans these days looking at the stats - glad we dont top this table ! Bindippers twice as many arrests but dirty Leedsscum and Milwall right up there on form ! Still not as goody-goody as those awfully nice Nigels at Cheltenham and Yeovil though ! after you Claude ..... linky thing : http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/documents/foo...708?view=Binary
  10. playing it on the ground we looked really good and worried them lots - CT , LH and COG all held ball well - Lidds position play was superb and I think he had a solid game. Why o why did we keep hoofing it up to that massive centre back they had ?? - Stam was ok but these days just seems to hoof it high and we turn possession over then. On the whole, good game, cracking result and make no mistake, Walsall were very useful - we could learn from their speed when intercepting or picking the ball up and cutting us up. Anyway, 3 more points and onwards and upwards - plus dirty leedscum gettin beat too ! Oh happy days .............
  11. normally do RR before games but as Chaddy shut will have to slum it in RRE tuesday for cup game - as will be comin down sheepfoot lane rather than across Clayton fields am thinking of hitting Queens pre-game - havnt been in for a few years - anyone know if its still big Latics pub or has it fallen by wayside ? Thanx.
  12. the FA cup early rounds used to be full of atmosphere and everyone was up for it - Formby away back in the day was memorable - problem now is cost. In the old days entry was the same as the cinema - now its 3 or 4 times the price. The reason the gates are lower is because ST holders generally dont like to pay out again and many only do for the bigger ties. Wait till 3rd round comes round and look at gates at places like Sunderland, Middlesboro, Bolton etc - some will probably get less than 10,000. Its a great shame, but fans only have so much disposable income and a long haul to Cheltenham and £20 in was a bridge too far unfortunately. Hopefully we'll get a good turn out for Morcambe - mainly as local and new ground for most of us plus you can stand behind goal which adds to atmosphere. Unfortunately economics dictate that the FA cup has lost most of its attraction in the early rounds - just hope we land another big fish in round 3 !
  13. put me and my lad down for seats when we get thru Mr B - havnt had a good tear up in ages !
  14. Diego (the spanish one !) Biggest legend never to wear the shirt for 1st team. Sat next to him in Chaddy when he was on trial - decent geezer also !
  15. good game good point better after going behind couldve won it intheend Hughes worried em baaaddd good atmosphere in chaddy rifle range very packed Aless shouldav cum on bring on dem scunies !!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Confidence means easy wins Dont struggle against strugglers back where we belong Bring on da foxes !!! We wantour greegan back !! Back in the zone Four nill four nill !!!!
  17. Hull away in late 70's or early 80's - not a place for feint hearted - we got rumbled when we wouldnt join in with 'sir Geoffry Boycott' chant and quickly removed by old bill to save our lives ! Trampmere away around same time for night match - went in old cowshed which was home end then but a load of scraggy scally chavs started lobbing bricks at Latics and most ran off - me and my brother were surrounded and tried to speak in scouse accents but in the end still got a good kicking - never forgiven the tramps after that ! OT also standin in Stretford end and my mate cheered when Latics scored - prob was we were the only 2 with northern accents as everyone around us were from dawn saff ! - typical redsox 'fans '!! Oxford away was funny when our minibus was late due to too many pit-stops and we piled in late and walked round the pitch and went in the home end - it was split with a fence down the middle and we we so pied that we went straight in the middle of the oxford mob and started giving it large and singin all things Latics before being requested to leave by the police but totally ignored by the home fans - dont think they knew what to make of us ! Ipswich away for promotion day was prob best - was livin in Ipswich at the time and went in home end - couldnt keep it in and went ballistic when Marshall tucked away his goals - fair play to 'tractor boys' - very generous in defeat and wished us all the best ! oh happy days !!!
  18. latics fans who constantly diss Latics and glass always less than half full ! oh, and Celtic too !!
  19. Ronnie Moore Adrian Littlejohn Overpriced warm piss at away games for double the normal price of a pint Ridiculous shirt tugging at corners - particularly in Greedy League - send the feckers off - will soon stop it Rooney, Terry and other big time charlies continually f'ing and jeffing at refs and getting away with it Players who dive and writh around like theyve been shot and when ref waves play on, spring straight up and get on with it (wilbraham on sat - needless and pathetic) Over zealous stewards - standing up at footie is natural ! All seater identikit stadiums - souless morgues draining the life and soul out of grounds Ridiculous car parking charges at most grounds Shorter odds at the Latics bookies then you get in your local betting shop 'Stand up if you love Oldham' - grow up !!!! 'No surrender to the IRA' wtf ?????????????? Celtic Latics corners - just when will Lidds launch one into the box onto Greegs head ??? No alcohol on coaches to away matches (well, officially !! ) The price of footie to regular fans Ridiculous wages paid to thickaspig:censored: 'stars' in greedy league so they can buy all those essential ferraris and racehorses Ronnie Moore again !!!
  20. I once got serious grief on JK Latics for posting about 'munichs' and got all the PC brigade on my case saying how great uncle Albert etc lost a third cousin twice removed in 1958 . The point I made was that to my knowledge the term 'munichs' came about to refer to manure 'supporters' who started to 'follow' manure after the tragedy and not before as they were the team of the moment. The term therefore referred to 'glory-hunter' types of fans who latched on to a big team but never actually went to see them - very similar to skychair redsox fans today. In that respect, the term 'munichs' is appropriate to aply to part time armchair supporters and therefore is valid as opposed to it being used as a term of abuse or mocking those who died in the tradgedy at Munich airport. oh, and just how good was it to see both Taggart and Citeh getting battered on TV yesterday !! "I never felt more like singin the blues, when Oldham win and Citeh (and redsox) lose "
  21. All this talk of closing down stands didnt seem to worry the stewards and authorities of Tranmere and Rochdale where common sense stewarding led to hassle-free spectating and a good atmosphere. At Rochdale (unlike the previous year in Rose Bowl), stewards were happy to let 2 blocks of 'Tics stand and have a good sing - tbh this was the only zone where any real atmos was created also !. No aggro - no probs !. At Trampmoore I located towards the back to the right of the stand and along with many others stood throuought - the banter and atmosphere was good and again there was no trouble or grief - the stewards kept a watching brief but as noone was upset they let us all stand. A few people sat nearby before the kick-off obviously realised that this was destined to be a lively zone and simply relocated further down the stand where I am sure they had an excellent and unobstructed view of the game away from the 'standers'. Everyone happy, no grief, no falling out, no problem. Why cant people in RRE think the same - obviously nearer the 'moat' there will be more singing and standing and further towards the goal will be more sitting. Everyone happy, bit of latitude given by stewards and no falling out. Seems straightfoward to me (altho I sit in Chaddy - well stand actually as I deliberately chose a seat where noone sits behind, and guess what ? no steward has yet asked me to sit down as I am in a zone where others are all standing and not blocking anyones view !). Common sense needs to prevail fellas !
  22. Altho I'm a Chaddy Ender to the core as I believe its our spiritual home I must say the atmosphere in RRE looks to be rockin from the Chaddy. Atmos in Chaddy still good but too many empty seats dosnt help. Anyway, was thinkin of migratin over to RRE for some of the bigger games for the atmosphere eg Hudds, Leicester and Leedsscum. OS says ALL ST holders can exchange ST voucher for tickets in small section of RRE for these matches - does this actually mean ALL ST holders or ST holders in RRE only ???. Anyone know ?
  23. Wilbrahams a cheatin b*****d !! We grafted they didnt Always looked in control Their pen a joke ! Ref a complete tosser Clear at the top ! Bring on monkey hangers !!
  24. Rifle Range used to get its share of skychair Redsox who would act like they were regular fans home and away but never really seen the scum unless on the big screen. At full time they would bugger off to continue with their sad lives. Since the RR was taken over and kitted out with all things Latics hope they have found some other venue to spout their sad, predictable biased opinions in ! If there are redsox in, perhaps a few 'Oh when the bluees ' chants this year might encourage them to relocate ! Oh and 2 mins from BP ?? - maybe for Mr Bolt but not for me with several pints of John Willies finest bitter sloshing around ! - a good 10 mins from bar to the Chaddy at a decent clip !
