  1. Good idea, as you said it may take a bit of time to build up a history, but eventually could become a good reference tool.
  2. I absolutely loathe and detest Wiggun, nothing irritates me more than people calling them Latics. We are the only Latics and always will be. We were the Latics before they were even in existense. Charlton are also Athletic but have the decency, originality and good grace to think of a nickname not already in use and "owned" by another club. Wiggun aren't even creative or imaginative enough to come up with a nickname of there own. I really hope they go down, I really really hope they go down.
  3. I sit in the Main Stand Upper Tier and have done so for about 20 years. The stand does have it's fair share of "Balloons" but I wouldn't think its any worse than elsewhere in the ground. I have on occasion sat elsewhere and have always found it to be about the same. But people pay their money and are entitled to their opinions. I dont agree with the moaners and find it quite annoying if one is in close proximity for the whole game. I sit in the Main stand upper tier because IMO its one of the best places to view the game from.
  4. I couldn't knock anyone for voting Warney as player of the season, great performances week in week out, and Nobody tries harder. But these things are all about opinions though and I would still vote Richie as my player of the season in the main because of his overall influence on a game. IMO he is the difference between 3 points and 1 or 0 points on a regular basis, for me if he's not in the team then my expectations for that game are greatly reduced.
  5. I agree Warney has had a great season and been a model of consistency, but my vote a this stage for player of the season would have to be Richie Wellens. I think he has been outstanding all season, he is by far our most creative player as can clearly be seen when he does not play. He is also very consistent and very rarely turns in below par performances. I shudder to think were we would be without his creativity this season, he really does run the show and makes the whole team tick. A mention to for Will Haining, and Sean Gregan who has made a massive difference since he arrived.
  6. Sounds about right, useless ignorant gits probably never been to a Latics match between them. Chamberlain is supposed to be a Torquay fan so should know at least something about lower league football (and probably conference football for them next season).
  7. It's difficult to put your finger on exactly why you hate them but you do and everything about them and everything they stand for. There fans are such t*ssers, they know nothing about real football, your lucky if you can find one who actually attends any games and they are so conceited they dont think anyone has the right to ever challenge them never mind beat them. I for one am glad Chelski have turned up to p*ss on there chips and make them even more sour than before.
  8. SeasideLatic, I know you from the LaticsMad website, I've only been on here a couple of weeks myself. It's a much more lively board, and altogether better. Welcome
  9. At the end of a tiny deserted bar is a huge scouse bloke - 6ft 5in tall and 350lbs. He's having a few beers when a short, well dressed and obviously gay man walks in and sits beside him. After 3 or 4 beers, the queer fella finally plucks up the courage to say something to the big Liverpudlian. Leaning over, he cups his huge ear: "Do you want a b**w job?" he whispers. At this, the massive Merseysider leaps up with fire in his eyes and smacks the man in the face. Knocking him off the stool, he proceeds to beat him all the way out of the bar. Finally he leaves him, badly bruised, in the car park and returns to his seat as if nothing had happened. Amazed, the barman quickly brings over another beer. "I've never seen you react like that" he says. "Just what did he say to you?" "I'm not sure" the big scouser replies. "Something about a job."
  10. A man sitting at a bar at Heathrow Terminal 3 noticed a really beautiful woman sitting next to him. He thought to himself: "Wow, she's so gorgeous she must be an air hostess. But which airline does she work for?" Hoping to pick her up, he leaned towards her and uttered the Delta slogan: "Love to fly and it shows?" She gave him a blank, confused stare and he immediately thought to himself: "Blast, she doesn't work for Delta." A moment later, another slogan popped into his head. He leaned towards her again, "Something special in the air?" She gave him the same confused look. He mentally kicked himself, and scratched Singapore Airlines off the list. Next he tried the Thai Airways slogan: "Smooth as Silk." This time the woman turned on him "What the F*** do you want?" The man smiled, then slumped back in his chair, and said : > > > > > > > "Ahhhhh, EasyJet!"
  11. I thought both Croft and Kilkenny where both great players for us and both had very successful loan spells at BP. It is difficult to compare them and their relative worth to Latics, they both did a cracking job for us in very differing roles. One thing is for sure I'd have both of them back in a jiffy given half a chance, I think they would both still do a job for us right now.
  12. I saw him in B & Q near Boundary Park a couple of months ago. He certainly used to live on Harden Hills just off Buckstones Road, I go past regular when I'm out running. He is a true Latics legend, and my fav Latics player of all time.
  13. My god where do I start Absolutely Anybody off Big Brother (Nobodies) & also Big Brother itself (what a total waste of time) Jeffery Archer Celebrity football fans (Not fans atall just Bandwagon B*stards) Paul Daniels Peter Andre Katie (Jordan) Price Sharon Osborne Anthea Turner Richard Madeley Eamon Holmes Angus Deayton Amanda Holden Alan Sugar Piers Morgan Trinny Woodall That'll do for now
  14. I would agree generally with whats been said about Pogs. Good shot stopper. His kicking still does leave a lot to be desired. Prone to the odd clanger. Has made some great and crucial saves this season that have earned us points. We are in league 1 (not the premiership) I wouldn't swap him for anyone I've seen in this Division this season.
  15. Support your Hometownclub its your birthright. If Latics didn't exist I couldn't possibly support anyone else, I'd just become a disinterested observer of the game. I'd rather die than support Manure or Citeh. It really annoys me seeing kids walking round Oldham in Manure and Citeh shirts you might as well just sell your soul to the devil, what a total waste of time and waste of a life. It makes me so mad
  16. I was at the matches with Manure and they certainly weren't friendly atall. They thought as usual they had a god given right to win and not just the match I mean every free kick, corner and throw-in. There fans are absolute cretins who think Manure are the centre of the universe. And I still say Hughes's goal at wembley was well after the match should have finished, the referee agreed to play on until they scored (that really winds them up). As you might have gathered I ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM.
  17. Just to say welcome. I'm pretty new on here myself but I know you from the LaticsMad website messageboard. It's a good site for Latics fans to discuss all things Latics and some things not. Welcome.
  18. I downloaded them okay without any problems this morning.
  19. Did anyone else see Sean Gregan having abit of fun with Chris Taylor after he scored his first, suggesting that it had gone in off his shoulder and not his head, thats why Taylor touched his head when he got back to the half way line to indicate to Gregan that it went in off his head and not his shoulder, Gregan wasnt having any of it and just kept laughing.
  20. Hi everybody I've recently found out about this site, (I'm a regular poster on the LaticsMad website). I've been supporting the Latics for over 30 years and will support them til I die. My first match was about 70/71 aged 8, my dad took me and we played Swansea. Stood in the Chaddy end, we won 1-0 (David Shaw scored) I remember the goal like it was yesterday, it was scored at the Rochdale Road end and hit the underside of the bar and down on to the line before going in. I was hooked and have been ever since. Happy posting. KTF.
