  1. Someone with experience of success at this level is a prerequisite for me. We haven’t got time or the stomach to take a punt on a ‘name’. I only see home games but almost every visiting team seem to, embarrassingly, hold and pass the ball far better than we do. Curing this seems to be a daunting job for anyone and maybe impossible without financial backing.
  2. Frank may well be paying Unsworth’s wages but it wasn’t Frank who suggested him for the job.
  3. I feel sorry for Frank Rothwell. He has undoubtedly saved the club from oblivion but has then had to rely on other people to formulate the restructuring of the playing side of the club. I wonder if any other candidates were interviewed/considered with National League experience or was Joe Royle’s mate, Unsworth a shoe in for the job. My group and I are frustrated virtually every game with how we are regularly outplayed by other clubs in midfield. It’s no longer a case of a ‘bad day at the office). But, the catalyst of today’s implosion was the childish, moronic brainstorm from Fondop in the 1st minute. This after the ball had been placed for a free kick and the kicker waiting to take it. As we all now know this madness unfazed him. He has been taking good money off the club for too long. We have clubs in this league surviving on less than 2,000 fan’s outplaying us on a regular basis. I don’t know how much is invested in management and players but it will be up there with the best. I also don’t know how an ex Premier League player and coach of hand picked talented junior players goes about selecting players for this League. It does seem Unsworth is struggling.
  4. That was definitely the best all round performance I've seen in quite a while. They simply looked the real deal with their movement, passing accuracy, and the goals - wow. Taking their foot off the peddle after the break was unnecessary. Resulting, in my opinion - their goal and a little pressure. I too give a plaudit to Freeman, an experienced attacking full back who delivered. He looks the real deal. As did Norwood and Dickenson. They galvanised us into an attacking unit. It's one game I know but today was way superior to the dross we've been served up for years. What a joy to see us taking the game to the opposition with speed and accuracy. Was today a fluke? We're about to find out, but I dont think so.
  5. I watched the first half. Defence overworked with some ease, mid-field invisible making the front two almost redundant. Our midfield is incapable of moving the ball and themselves quickly or making a decent pass efficiently on too many occasions. It’s incredible that it’s not been sorted by now. Both Mansfield and Southend made us look mediocre. 0-4, yellow cards and a red indicate a struggle, not a bad day at the office. Too early perhaps to judge the new players but doubts are stacking up against those coaching them.
  6. I've had a moan about yesterday's performance but credit where credit is due. The pitch, perimeter, coaching and dugout areas are a welcome improvement.
  7. This was my first sighting of our ‘improved’ and settled squad of players. The quality of our midfield passing, movement and control of midfield was woful, as it was last season. Mansfield we’re in a different League, (I know). I will be watching with interest how they fare next term in the League we are trying to get into . Of course we will not be competing against Mansfield’s level of midfield dominance in our real world League but I, along with our group of 4, were very disappointed with our performance yesterday.
  8. Top. My optimism won’t allow to me contemplate the exiting nightmare of the play-offs until it’s the only option.
  9. I think Darren Royle pitched it correctly at the meeting. It is inordinately difficult, on a regular basis, for the club to be organising affordable transport for a varying number of fans down to a handful. This, while appearing to subsidise the cost.
  10. Apparently we have become a top four form team in the last 4 months. The player’s will be eager to confirm that on Saturday by beating a qualifier who have done it over 9 months. And I don’t see Bromley farting about over a placing in the playoff’s. Losing or playing poorly at this stage will do them no favours at all. We might be in for a treat.
  11. That’s exactly what Unsworth’s recruiting policy has seemed like, until recently. If you’re involved in any advisory capacity with him could you please come up with a similar whimsical ditty on - ‘How to Pass the Bloody Ball’ when not under pressure.
  12. When he's scored twice in a away league game then out injured for month's.
  13. Happy to accept administration to get rid of the clowns? There were more than a few on here singing the same tune while Corney was floundering to keep us in the (now very attractive looking) L1. People with their hands in their pockets are not going to get us out of administration or avoid tumbling into the Conference. It will take someone/people putting more money into Oldham Athletic than the Amigo’s or AL and Co were/are prepared to do. From my perspective, we are on a wing and a prayer. Investment, luck with a manager and even more luck with a group of players gelling is paramount. And very difficult. Turning a club around from L2 or administration into a Championship Club (the desire of many who were sick to death of L1) is an unlikely pipe dream considering our fan base. I don’t have any answers or investment and I’m not a Turkey voting for Christmas. I was always comfortable with L1, purely based on economics.
  14. Club controlled hospital parking up 67% to £5.00. Not having the sign at the bottom of the lane was sneaky and underhand.
  15. No leadership on the pitch, no leadership from the disinterested chump on the bench who spent almost the entire game with his chin in his hand and no leadership from the head coach in the dugout who must have thought the statue on the bench must have been doing ok. Alarming at the very least.
  16. It is impossible to understand why these people bought the club. The whole pantomime is under thought and under funded. I would be amazed if there wasn’t a hidden agenda. That may well be going very nicely for them - but not for us.
  17. That would certainly change the likely outcome.
  18. Things are looking up. L2 won’t have a clue about ‘us’.
  19. I agree with the probability that Lemsagam is aiming to manage his investment. There is not lot wrong, in principle, with the business ethics. But with his only experiance within Professional Football apart from running a players agency it doesn't bode well. His choice of player recruitment has been poor at best. I am on record questioning AL's real reason for being here. I still don't know what he is getting out of it and that worries me. I have a suspicion but that is all. We were stuffed before he arrived and that hasn't changed. It would appear suicidal for him to take on running the playing side exclusively. We won't have long to wait to judge that beauty - if it happens.
  20. I'll not disagree with that - for the time being.
  21. In that case - a ground breaking technique. We'll see how it goes. At least we're rid of Corney - which many fans are happy about.
  22. 50% sir. He has definitely appointed a Head Coach.
