  1. Should be something on the Official about 2-30
  2. Anyone who is encouraged performs better than someone who is derided. There are probably no exceptions and certainly no way of measuring it on a football pitch. Encouragement does however feel pretty damn good at a professional football match, either giving or receiving it.
  3. With the exception of Peterborough, last 20 minutes, at home a few years ago all away games within 80 miles are noisier than home games. Most of our squad are in for a real eye opener of noise on Saturday. It's going to be awesome.
  4. It will be a wee bit harder for him than here. Very limited chance of bringing any players in and without our fantastic away support. Will be very interesting though.
  5. I seem to remember him scoring an only goal winner at Stockport when they were better than us - if anyone can confirm.
  6. Well I don't. Memory is selective in us all. I do remember Billy Dearden, 2goals in 35 for us. Eventually ending up at Sheffield United and scoring 61 goals in 175, many in the first division. And centre half Ian Marshall arriving from Everton 1 in 15 and becoming one of the finest strikers of the ball we have seen here, not to mention his goals. Going on to further goal scoring success in the Premier League with other clubs. If you remember Stevens as a box to box runner and energetic midfield dynamo why don't you just say so? I remember a talented young player with a turn of speed and developing eye for accurate passing. To be the second highest runner in the Premiership takes some doing and I don't remember him doing it here.
  7. Dale Stevens of Brighton, second only to Jack Cork of Burnley for ground covered in the top flight this season. 189 miles to Cork's 198. Don't remember him as that type of player when playing here.
  8. He's been fielding a fair few close range shots from unmarked players to be fair.
  9. We are importing a lot of players from abroad we have never heard of, very few are anything special. The goalkeeper being the big exception. I'm slightly concerned because I think we are going to need a touch of good old British bulldog fighting spirit in the next three months, unless AL comes up with a couple of worldies.
  10. I thought they would have hung the camera from the new stand. Maybe a detail that was unaffordable. The Main Stand is not high enough without obstructing views. There are a few things stacked up on the to do list. The first two on my list would be players to keep us up and a new pitch to play football that will increase attendances above the present 3,500 faithful.
  11. Exactly. So in that event and Al and Wellens don't have bigger ideas for the time being, they won't sell him. I don't think Al and Wellens are planning to cut the goals off. Or manage what Corney has failed to do in 13yrs - get us relegated.
  12. It seems, to some, the possibility of selling Davies is the same old club policy of desperately plugging an haemorrhaging bank balance. Surely this must cast serious doubt on the aspirations of our potential new owner. It beggars belief that Al is allowing Corney to sell any decent player that he likes and believes can do a job for Wellens, if Wellens wants to keep him. The worst thing I see here is Al, with a fair wind, consolidating our L1 position by cashing in on any contracted players judged to be surplus to a concentrated effort on promotion next season. He is a man with a plan and we have certainly witnessed during the last few months he has not been waiting to be the figurehead before moulding the future. I don't accept this months player movement has been orchestrated by Corney. Wether Al delivers to our satisfaction will be judged soon enough. I'm optimistic.
  13. I said in early January we appeared to be clearing the decks. If Davies is included in that program I am taking it as a positive. Maybe the club have an option to sell either him or Holloway. Davies's goals v Holloway's heading, holdup and layoff skills. It all depends on the coach, finances or both who materializes as our additional up front introduction. Who knows what exactly was meant in Garrard's cryptic Tweet?! Eleven days remaining!
  14. On the face of it, all very positive with the other 'confirmed' signings. Would it be technically feasible these players could play tomorrow or is it impossible to register them without it being public knowledge?
  15. The club appear to be clearing the decks for something. It may be an act of capitulation, but I doubt It. 28 days left.
  16. Jewell resigns and loan players return to their club. First and second gear engaged for change. Latics back in touch with relegation and January musical chairs begins, again. 28 days remaining before all the guess work can be accurately accessed and judged. I'm optimistic, as always. Hold tight.
  17. Generally but rarely matches are called off due to outside stadium conditions because of heavy snowfalls at grounds with under soil heating. This is not the case here. All roads are open and our citizens are going about their business with care at the moment. If the pitch is playable we will be good to go. The weather changing is in the lap of the gods. I hate the uncertainty of some winter home games.
  18. Ambition is a personal goal. If 'your' ambition for the club is success 'you' are falling well short and perversely intimating you are doing more than the rest of us. The majority of us are living in hope that someone else funds it - like you should be. Having ambition for someone else to fund and achieve it for you doesn't really cut-the-mustard. Bearing in mind funding doesn't always work. Of course you are still allowed to whinge about, abuse, or appreciate someone who 'is' making some effort, but don't pretend its you.
  19. I'm not a tactician but I don't think playing 3 or 4 at the back is the main problem - it's personnel. My guess is come January something will be done about it - if changes in ownership have been completed. And we are still in touch with a play-off place.
  20. A team involved in highest aggregate goals per game this season (57) v the team with the lowest (26). Should be interesting on Saturday. We are now only 6 goals short of last seasons total goals scored and on track to move from the team involved in the lowest aggregate games to the highest after conceding only 44 goals last term but already shipped 32 this term. We are raining goals.
  21. There may well have been a few mistakes tonight, that was a fast paced, end to end game. Did anyone else notice our back four all over Placide after our winner, you don't often see that.
  22. What a pity Gordon hasn't been commentating on our amazing turn around in style and goals.
  23. Our season tickets identify our allegiance to the club in order to be targeted for any deals going that couldn't be foreseen before the season starts.
