  3. Would maybe be an extra incentive for TTA to stick with us even longer heres hoping!
  4. Of course there has got to be a line drawn somewhere in regards to human rights, but things seem to be getting a bit out of hand don't you think with all the political correctness these days... If we all want to be the same we may as well turn to communism.....what an exciting life that would be...
  5. Not really saying its ok to break the law is it.... they would still get punished accordingly......But celebrities should take it on theirselves that they have a responsibility to act in more appropriate manner, because their behaviour is more likely to be noticed and picked up on. If i was a policeman i would have a responsibility to drive more cautiously than a regular car driver.... I suppose it depends what camp you sit in a wooly liberal or a tory....i tend to be more for firm punishment these days as im sick and tired of all these human rights that are comin to the fore with new labour...
  6. Celebs and people in the limelight should be punished harder imo.....They are often role models to kids and a lot of people look up to them. So if any celebs step out of line it is more detrimental to society than if joe bloggs does it. They should therefore be punished for this accordingly. You often hear judges stating that they provide harsher punishments to celebs to make an example of them to the nation that what they are doing is wrong, primarily the younger generation which are easily influenced...
  7. Plus with the stand being demolished our maximum attendance next year will be around the 11,000 mark
  8. Any ideas left winger in his 20's playing for a polish top flight club? Athletic target Polish player by MICHAEL YARWOOD ATHLETIC have targeted a Polish midfielder in their quest to discover fresh talent for next season. Assistant manager Tommy Wright revealed that a recent scouting trip unearthed the left-sided player, who could be brought over to Boundary Park as Athletic want to take an extended look. The player, in his mid-20s, made a big impression on Wright when he watched two games in Poland’s top division. Athletic are keen to strengthen their left side during the summer and are now seeking ways to pursue their interest. Wright said: “Poland has become quite a popular place for finding players, although it can be difficult to get them away from their clubs. “I saw a couple of decent players when I was over there, and we would like to bring one lad in particular over here. “I’m not saying anything would definitely would come of it, but he did very well and is well worth looking at again. “It’s awkward because the season in Poland is still going on, but we are in contact with agents and we’ll do what we can.” Athletic have enquired about several players as they look to make early moves into the transfer market. They have also brought in trialists over the last few weeks and given them a chance to impress at reserve-team level. Last night, however, the reserves ended their season with a 5-0 drubbing at Bradford City. It ended a miserable season in the Pontin’s Holiday League, with Athletic collecting only six points from 22 fixtures. They achieved one victory and three draws, scoring 20 goals, conceding 70 and finishing with 10 consecutive defeats. But the club’s massive injury problems filtered down beyond the first team and coach Lee Duxbury often struggled to raise a side, even using members of the under-16 squad against opposition players with vast experience. Athletic will not be entering a league next season as they plan to arrange regular friendlies according to their own needs.
  9. So he has pretty much signed a new contract with us for next season? Because he has been on a pay as you play this season from what i can remember....
  10. Looking at Woorons stats on http://www.pafc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Profi...4~10544,00.html loks like he can chip in with a fair few goals from midfield too with 12 in one season! I would expect him to stay down south though if he has been there all his life it would be a big change coming up north.....i think definately Chadwick and even Nallis could do a job here even if he is 36!
  11. To be honest i would keep 90% of the current squad...ok we havent really pushed for promotion this season but lets take into consideration a few things from this season.... Our best two strikers davies and hughes have probably only featured bout 50% of the season, our best centre back Gregan has missed 80% of the season and didnt get much chance to partner the awesome hazell. We have had many other injuries throughout the season meaning we have had very little back up and have rarely been able to stick to the same team/formation for more than 1 or 2 games. To be looking at finishing in the top 10 with this squad taking injuries into account i think even if we kept the exact same squad but kept them fit we wouldnt be far off the play offs next season. Add to that an extra 4 players with only 1/2 leaving we shouldnt be too far off a promotion push....
  12. As a young kid you are more wowed by the facilities and the fact of being associated with a big club rather than the long term benefits...Unless a kid really has their head screwed on and looked to the future they would choose a prem club over us 100% of the time...
  13. I would say yes in replacement of maybe kalala.....only seen one great performance from him so no telling if he would be able to play like he did on a more regular basis....We still need another more creative player alongside allott though as priority imo

    rre

Just while on the topic of the RRE i think this summer everyone needs to get into lyrical mode. Once we start getting the new summer signings we could do with creating some new original songs that can be sung by the RRE crew. Im sick to death of the 'Eyresy', 'Gregan', 'Warney' chants we adopt every year because we haven't bothered to create a decent song. Or likewise the 'walking in a beckett/porter/davies wonderland'. So i think ts about time that during the quiet summer a thread should be set up to get some great new song ideas that everyone can try to sing for next season.... I will have a bash myself but i find it hard to find an oringinal tune other than the usual lord of the dance etc...
  15. Our major downfall for the last 2 years has been the strength of our squad rather than the actually quality of the players.... I would only possibly offload 1/2 of the current squad such as wolfy and maybe kalala. But bring in 4/5 new faces, IMO that is what we need for promotion. People need to remember that we have offloaded 2 players already this season in pogliacomi and Ricketts so i dont think many more need to go. 1 new GK 1 new CM 1 new Striker 1 new RW/LW Possibly 1 new CB/LB cover (i.eLivermore)
  16. Great idea i can also jog up the steps at half time .....collect my meat and tattie........then jog back down again ...job done!
  17. Hmmm if thats the case looks like the Gym membership will be being sacrificed........oh there is still hope
  18. You sure you aren't Julian Baudet??
  19. One parent one child in the main stand = 378.00 One parent one child in the RRE = 358.00
  20. I think people have got too caught up on the Huddersfield scheme and tbh this in comparison looks like day light robbery....but what did people expect??? We haven't got a multi millionaire investing have we.... Unfortunately the £300 prices me out of a season ticket this season, i never had much hope of being able to afford a ticket as anything over £200 was too much.....not sure if i could even afford the monthly/quarterly payment option i will look into it...
  21. Where i agree that Lomax could easily replace Eardley...the major problem for the last couple of years is that we dont have a big enough squad. Losing Eardley replacing him with lomax effectively reduces our squad so we would need to bring in another defender on top imo. I understand Eardley has done well for us this year and with regular call ups for wales and his captaincy raising his price there could be some interest, But firstly i hope he isnt sold and if he is at least not for any less than £500,000.
  22. But do you honestly think reducing the pricing by 50% would increase attendance by 100%? I can't see it to be honest, unless there is some brilliant advertisement and publicity regarding the new prices i doubt we could get many more than 6/7,000 season tickets sold even at £150 a pop...
  23. The fact is that the economy worldwide is entering a depression, and people are finding it more and more difficult to afford basics in life never mind luxuries such as football season tickets. With the increase in the cost of living i dont necessarilly think that people are weighing up whether the cost of a season ticket is worth the product. Just a matter of whether they can afford it full stop will decrease numbers next year. I would love to renew next season but i simply dont think i am going to be able to afford it. Having just bought a house i think i will do well just to maintain a decent lifestyle for the next year or two....UNLESS we had a stupidly low price of season ticket like Huddersfield i will probably only be attending 4/5 home games next season......absolute killer seeing as though im 99.9% certain next year will be a great year!
  24. But the reason Huddersfield can afford to do it is because Dean Hoyle the owner of the company 'Card Factory' (a lifelong town supporter and multi millionaire) has invested money up front to allow them to tak a loss on season tickets....So unless we get some investment from somwhere it aint gonna happen IMO.
