  1. Great signing. Encouraging words from all the Hudds fans too. Sounds like he's had some knee problems in the past but hopefully he's over them. Roll on tomorrow.
  2. I recall the ref for last season's home game vs Dale being booed by both sets of fans. Think we even booed him when he sent their lad off.
  3. On the plus side Reid now has 2 from 3. If he keeps that up he'll get 30+ this year.
  4. I'd like to sample the legroom before committing to move!
  5. What's to say we even matched his previous contract? We might have offered him less.
  6. I guess they've tried to fit roughly the same number of games in each category. With that in mind, they've probably got it about right. (I'd maybe have put Chesterfield as cat B and made Colchester or Walsall cat C.) Will be interesting to see what the away fans make of it.
  7. Agree that Lee is too quiet. Its not about shouting/telling off the players but the captain needs to be able to motivate the lads when they're having an off day and you need to be vocal to do that. Brill would have probably been in with a shout if he'd still been here!
  8. That sounds like a decent idea actually, probably work out pretty cheap between you. And those Bavarian waitresses are great. Its worrying when you see a little hottie carrying 7 litres of beer in each hand - don't think I could do that!!
  9. Haha, I'm seeing Ryan Adams at the Bridgewater Hall on Thursday. We've got pretty good seats so really looking forward to it. Apparently he gets annoyed with people requesting Summer of 69!! Frank Turner's new album is great - I like the one about there being no god. Also listening to the Gaslight Anthem a lot - their last album came out around a year ago and is still in my CD player.
  10. I've been to Okt'fest a couple of times - its incredible! I'd love to go back but recently the accomodation costs have gone through the roof. When I looked last year it was €60 for one night in a hostel dorm!! Rieperbahn street
  11. I love Germany, probably my favourite country on the continent (apart from football reasons of course). Great beer and very friendly people, particularly in the south. Its probably too much of a detour but Munich is one of the best cities in the world imo. Fantastic beer halls and some great countryside surrounding the city. If you're going via Calais you could take in Koln, Dusseldorf and Berlin on the way (maybe even Hamburg) which would be a good road trip. If you go to Berlin you should take a segway tour of the city. It looks ridiculous and isn't cheap (around €70) - I had to be dragged kicking and screaming by a mate but it was awesome and I'd thoroughly recommend it: http://citysegwaytours.com/berlin In terms of cost, its similar to here. Maybe even slightly more expensive with the :censored: £ to € exchange rate. In the city centres its €3-4 for 500ml of beer but if you don't mind going off the beaten track a bit you can find some great little drinking holes - when I was in Berlin around 12 months ago we found a dingy place selling great beer for €1.80. Stayed there all night and got wrecked! I'll echo the comments made by leeslover - the food isn't great. Obviously they have some decent restaurants but the pub grub tends to be a combination of boiled sausage, sauerkraut, schnitzel and fries. It makes good drinking food and certainly isn't inedible but you get sick of it pretty quickly. Where abouts in Poland are you visiting?
  12. RIP big man and thanks for some of the greatest memories I have - lit up the stage at every E Street show I saw. Not a Gaga fan but C's solo on Edge of Glory kind of makes it a good song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYfVz-w32Os
  13. Maybe its just a loan deal - Dickov/Lambert Scottish connection?
  14. You think a player we're threatening with legal action deciding to donate money to us is exactly what's needed? It'd certainly be interesting I'll give you that.
  15. Hahaha, I love the fact that my post has got -5!!! If you read page 1 of the thread, a number of posts mentioned suing - I wasn't referring to the club's statement. Either way, the club publicly suggesting legal action is way OTT.
  16. Think this is just a case of the club trying to "look hard"! It would be almost impossible to actually sue him - we'd have to prove financial loss as a result of his actions which would be difficult. Even if we did sue him and won, he'd just declare himself bankrupt and we'd get nowt anyway. Did I read in another thread he lives with Furmanator? Not sure we want him bad-mouthing us at home and encouraging Furman to go.
  17. I have every sympathy with the players being paid late but posting about it on Twitter isn't they way to go about getting it put right - its unprofessional. I would be disciplined if I bad-mouthed my employer so openly in public, even if I had a genuine reason for doing so.
  18. Said the man in the orthopaedic shoes I reckon he's happy playing in League 2. Better to be a good player in league 2 than an average player in league 1, especially if you're paid more. Thought he'd be happy to stay at Chesterfield with Shez though. Any compo for us is great.
  19. The 1500th winner which has just been announced probably took a few days to get hold of etc etc so doesn't mean that we've only sold 1500 as of today. Agree they should be continue pushing STs though - get into schools, get into the town centre, advertise in Chron!
  20. The Fraud Act (2006) points to fraud, specifically secton 2 "Fraud by false representation". http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/35/section/2 Your cases all pre-date the Fraud Act but: R v Hinks - SHE withdrew the money, it wasn't given to her (despite her amusing defence). R v Gomez - he basically nicked some things from a shop. They may be theft but they're both quite different from this case. Even so they could be reasonably argued as fraud under the new act - obtaining property by deception. R v Lawrence - only reference I can find is a driving offence! Its obviously a grey area. Fraud used to be considered under the Theft Act but was distinct (Section 15). http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/60/crossheading/fraud-and-blackmail#commentary-c1854191 BTW I was comparing the footballer, not you, to the kool-aid drinkers.
  21. If you're the reasonable man, I'd hate to read an unreasonable man's thoughts on this. Typing long, incomprehensible sentences doesn't make you correct. You seem to be describing fraud (in probably the most bizarre way possible). Theft is taking without the owner's consent. This is fraud. The whole thing reminds me of those kool-aid drinking rapture folk who thought they were evaporating this weekend.
  22. Well fair play to Mr Black for taking advantage of a moron.
  23. Who hands over £30k without asking questions and taking legal advice?
