After Bury people were saying how good Brian Wilson is. FFS I never got that.
Btw do we still have Omrani who had a mare against Scunthorpe at home?
Yes always looked good off the bench I thought. Big lad too.

Bit fed up of reading people say that Brian Wilson never lets us down. He does practically every time he plays in a pairing at the back. Not in the least but commanding to do that.

As a few of us have pointed out for several weeks now, it becomes difficult to build a midfield with Fane as the defensive one!
Fane in a 3 is ok enough. Also allows to bring Bryne into the centre.
-
No leaders, no one up for it. Meant to be in a relegation battle.
Book stops with Wellens.
-
The personnel we have leans itself to 3-5-2, especially with no Gerrard.
-
Bryne is such a big player for us but unfortunately I've not seen him have a good game for some time, largely down to Wellens playing him out of position. Bryne is a no.10, nothing else so we need to play him there.
Unfortunatly that would mean one up top and Doyle struggles by himself.

Think plenty is stretching it a bit. But not nearly as bad as Harry makes out.
Especially when you can take the unique experience of travelling by steam-train to an away game.

Yeah fair point.

Does anyone else find this, pound for pound, our worst local away game?
Usually a weird, subdued atmosphere despite us always taking big numbers..
Police always in full on trouble creation mode...
Shit pubs...
Usually a really shit game...
I'm looking forward to a few drinks in Manchester before and after though...
Plenty of very good watering holes in the town centre.
Notably the Trackside.

He did play at a higher level Riggo, for many years whilst being a similar size as now.
Agree with the first but reckon he was a lot slimmer.
Also agree the sentiment that its a disgrace to be in the shape that he is. That said he is doing everything we'd ask of him at the moment and playing well.

I'd possibly go as far as to say Kean Bryan is the most underrated Centre half we've ever had. Unreal positional play, judges the ball so well and always gets there first. He was the best player on the pitch on Saturday by a country mile in my eyes and had another solid performance tonight. Definite future premier league player, I'm 100% certain.
Needs to be more commanding in the air, but I'm nit picking.
-
Didn't think he was having a tantrum, more annoyed at his performance.
-
He'll be a big player for us but I thought that he tired along with the rest of the team early in the second half. There were a coupleof occasions where our left back wanted to send it down the line and he didn't offer a run.
-
Thought Bryan struggled against Graham and lost a lot of headers, rolls royce on the deck though. If he can become more commanding in the air he'll make the grade higher up.
-
A shift from Jack Bryne. Credit where it's due.

Our most attacking successful period came with Fane in the team. Shez didn't fancy him, Wellens understood that to actually score goals you need to have the ball first and brought him straight back in. No wat would we have had that successful spell without Fane being in the team. I can't believe his place in the team is even up for debate.
Completely mindless in this day and age to play football without a ball winner, at any level.

I really like Fane but we still concede a lot with him playing. He offers nothing going forward imo and we’ve really struggled for goals since Doyle’s injury. Time to try a more attacking side, especially at home.

Nazon?
Yeah good point, he looked lively. If we go 2 up top who misses out in midfield?
Going without our only ball winner would be madness.
People calling for a return to the attacking football we saw initially under RW seem to forget/ fail to recognise that was only possible due the form of Fane protecting and breaking up play.

Placide
Wilson
Gerrard
Byran
Dummigan
Fane
Pringle
Tope
Byrne ( totally free role, play in that hole in front of back 4)
Mclaughlin
Davies

Ladapo to Southend.
Wrong thread like.

He looked slower than Gerrard yesterday, not too sure how many fullbacks he'll be beating.
Don't need any pace to land a ball on the money.

Pringle can’t be that much of a nothing player to have got two moves in the Championship and ripped apart our league in a promotion team. Smacks of deficient management to me.
Or just a player without much previous game time. That said he's not up for the battle as of yet.
-
What' Byrne doing currently that he needs to continue doing? He's carrying on where he left off whilst on loan. Contributing very little. Wellens said as much then gave him a 2.5 year deal.
Baffling tactics from the off yesterday. Play Byrne higher up off Davies where he has a free role. As it transpired he played deeper and still had a free role, as did Pringle and to a lesser extent Gardner. People in the bog we're bemoaning one up front. Whilst I agree we looked more threatening with 2 up top we should be harder to score against! Although we probably looked more threatening because Nazon was up for it.
I can't remember who said, Clarke or Gerrard but half the battle at this level is desire. We are massively short in that area.
We need some steel in there, whether that's someone alongside Fane or an upgrade on him.

How come you leave our defensive/holding midfielder out of that after us conceding two while he was on the pitch then none once he went off?
You know what I thought of that same question and of you whilst I posted this. I knew you'd ask.
I need to watch the goals back but from the ones I saw there were plenty of our midfielders in our box but none of them picking a man up. But to be honest I left Fane out of the criticism because despite his limitations he gives everything. That's more than the lads quoted above.
-
Someone called it further up, but midfields pathetic attempts to track runners cost us big time.
Pringle, Byrne and Gardner coasting about. You'd think we're in a dog fight.

Look a miles stronger side with Gardner Fane and Byrne in central midfield.
