  1. Nice to see the chairman step up and answer a few questions in front of a camera........im sure there's plenty more we'd like him to answer on management selections/team building ect. so the fans called out need to step up and ask them for us all or close their account down on here and piss off
  2. Deserved win as better side overall. Poor first 20 but after that created the odd chance and looked pretty solid. Got at them well down the right towards the end of first half and whipped over some dangerous crosses one which Erwin should have bagged. His hold up play and dunne and burgess' passing is a concern but can't be too disappointed. Mccay's run and finish was also good, need to give him better supply. Fane broke up play well and banks was good today moving the ball out to the wings. Let's hope we can build on that for future home games
  3. impressed with the way we have played last two when we are just a collection of players. formation doesn't help as we lack width and didn't really get to the byline enough but plenty of positives. mckay will get enough goals if we whip enough crosses in. only downfall for my tonight if not being too critical was the crossing and final third passing. movement of front two was ok, defence solid and keeper good. great save first half
  4. sheff u are a promotion chasing team and they have obviously been impressed enough to sign him. he was decent fof league 1 and has good ability for this league so i think some of the comments about him being no big loss are wide of the mark. cant see us signing someone who would be being chased by sheff u
  5. More concerning is our home attendance figures. Can't even get 5k for home games now. Bottom tier support really and with city expanding down the road it's not ideal. Don't know what the answer is but hope shez build a team and we get a few of the old regulars back
  6. Listen do t get me wrong I'm not one for slagging players off or getting on their cases but Coleman isn't great. He played well today, he's been helped by a great defence recently and contributed to that but by no means is he a good goalkeeper for this level. Can't kick, reluctant to catch and decision / positioning is questionable. Way better keepers will be available and free in summer
  7. Don't go overboard he's improved but is nowhere near the best option for next year. Although today he made a couple of good saves and actually caught one when we were under pressure
  8. yep we have outplayed the best side in the division so although millwall and southend look like it will be difficult to get anything we are more than capable. plus if you look at teams with something to play for vs mid table the team battling usually gets something. southend are mid table, could do with them loosing this weekend then tuesday's game they wont be being pushed hard to try and make the playoffs. also could do with millwall winning next few, securing their play off spot so when we meet them they are already preparing for play off/s maybe resting key players.
  9. the bottom 3 have gone. with everyone picking up steady points just above they will need to get to 52 or 53 to stay up and that would mean winning nearly all their games which wont happen. it will be touch and go, crewe hopefully down when we play them, cov on holiday mode, millwall resting for the play offs are. all our home games are huge as they are all winnable in a poor league. win the 3 at home and i think that would be enough on its own. if not we will need something from the away games, prob fleetwood
  10. Best attacking display for a long while. Deserved to win and by at least 2 goals. All played well, can't really fault anyone not even fat boy croft for his 4 minute shift Midfield win the battle tonight with thought that was key as meant we controlled the game and even forte and main looked dangerous tonight. Top win but a lot of fixtures coming up so will be difficult to keep up
  11. Gerrard has to stay, you need a 'lump' at centre back in this league and he's a leader figure which is critical as we dont have anyone else like that so critical we sign him up. brian wilson also a good squad player who has shown in the last few weeks that he is a steady league 1 performer and unless we could get better (which i dont think we could as no cash) then he has to stay also. dieng, kelly, jones all need to stay as have good ability and we cant get any better. Winchester clearly has ability and is getting more mature it would be a waste if we let him go and another side got his best years so i'd keep. Coleman also who i hate but we have given him a chance young so needs signing up and sending out on loan for a year. croft isnt fit enough and is finished, forte too injured to be worth a deal, brown too crap and cassidy cant score, cornell is horrendous so i'd release them all. palmer def worth trying to sign, main is just a fit pub player who works hard but offers little threat so wouldnt bother with him.....
  12. Dieng for me. Like post above he made it easier for back 2 by screening them so well but Brian Wilson a close second
  13. Yep forte is lazy and hasn't been great but is still our best chanel of goals. Got his head on the cross which was offside and as soon as went up front got down the side of centre backs. Main works hard but doesn't threaten and holloway for all his great hold up play and flicks again rarely threatens. He should be playing every week either wide left but right up top or in the centre
  14. haha i know, he's just as bad. last time i saw him he got out jumped by a southend striker when he was at full stretch but if we can't get a loan in he has to be given another go. coleman has cost us too many goals lately and both are the worst I've ever seen, poorer than brill. its going to be wet saturday, the only thing he will catch will be a cold
  15. he can't catch or kick, and thats not taking the piss or being harsh on the lad. its a genuinely true statement as he can't do either consistently. wet ball or not if he could punch properly they wouldn't have scored when they did. he trains every day and is meant to be a pro but is falling below min pro standards thats why people are on his case. one or two mistakes fair enough but its every week. at fault bradford, at fault peterborough, partially at fault scunny and tonight fully at fault. he needs taking out of the team as he's costing us a goal a game. time for cornell to be given another go.
  16. haha was just about to say that. did save us with a save after giving them the first. he is terrible
  17. Genuinely excited for the first time in years about a signing or appointment. Better manager now than when he was first here and well liked. Will instantly lift the the gloom and even if he can't save us this year I can't think of anyone else I'd prefer to be in charge next year given his lg 2 record
  18. i agree we need to be crossing more with higdon in there. he's slow, lazy, but has a 1 in 2 career return and last night when good supply came in he looked dangerous. flashed one wide and hit post first half and then scored twice in second. in the first half we barely got to the byline, philiskirk cant play right wing, he drifts in, never takes on the full back and behind him eckersley never overlaps. yeates cuts in too much but to be fair played well last night. its clear from the change when we went all out attack that the balance of the team from kick off needs working on and that they are restricted in the way they play going forward. thats dunn's job so for me he needs to take a fair amount of the blame for what is going on.
  19. That was terrible but I think he needs more time. He has made no difference and tactically seems lost but his recruitment has been good and the team is good enough perhaps baring an old head at the back. It's clear they won't sack him so we need to rally around and give him until jan to show some promise. Everyone needs to remember our away form is actually quite good. He needs to get some confidence into the keepers, sign yeates up and work out how we will, play when we don't have a right winger
  20. Agree corney appointing untried managers is leaving us at risk. Dunn has a lot of work to do, they have some decent players but I never feel he picks the right team or formation. They won't sack him and it's going to be a long winter
  21. Really poor but I think we may have turned a corner and are starting to resemble a team. Some good recent results and 3 winnable games on the horizon so hopefully attract a few more back in next few weeks
  22. Thought we were in control most of game as Kelly bossed centre mid. We have very little cutting edge, higdon holds up ball and nothing else. He needs two wingers who can cross to be effective. Dunn made a good change and the two subs and poleons running up front won us the game although rasulo shooting got us the break. Dieng and Wilson solid but Coleman and other Wilson poor
  23. That was crap but at least we looked solid. Dieng and Wilson did ok and I liked he played 442 but not sure what people expect when that back line won't have played before, the midfield won't have played as a 4 before and that's the first time the front 2 have played as a partnership. They can only improve and have enough ability as long as we play a settled side. Dunn is doing ok from what he was left. Yeates needs to produce a cross and croft needs to loose weight. Kelly and jones in centre midfield and. Dieng in the team and we will do ok. Higdon's goal record is brilliant so he will score if we put decent crosses in. Fancy us in the return as that was their best effort and we will be stronger in the return
  24. What a joke of a post, relegation would be disastrous for the club seeing as we don't have many on long term deals. We'd end up with an even worse team than now. If we go down and then somehow put together a promotion winning team there no guarantees people would come back and we'd get 6000 home gates. The club is in the worst geographical position in Europe next to an expanding man city and United, the board do a decent job of propping us up. We just need to be more positive although I agree the manager needs to be playing a more attacking team for us to get behind at home
