  1. Good luck and thanks to all involved in the meeting today. I hope people's expectations are realistic - we probably won't hear what we want to hear. But we have - in a relatively short space of time - got this unique opportunity sorted. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes and what we learn.
  2. I don't know how to post pics, sorry, but if you google "JOHNSON OUT MIDGET banner" you'll get an idea of how Bristol City fans feel about Lee. Looks like the blanket they painted it on has seen better days though. They could probably use a few tips from Robinson on banner making.
  3. Agreed - but we weren't. We were/are barely scoring a goal.
  4. Not much love left among Bristol City fans for Johnson going by their fan forum. Someone has even taken the time to paint JOHNSON OUT on a shabby old bedsheet. I got a bit of a chuckle when I saw it on their forum...
  5. I'm quite sure putting banners up around the place didn't help. I hope someone has taken them down.
  6. Overall I'm less positive this time around than last year - mainly because I think the odds of two escapes in a row are slim. Hope I'm wrong though.
  7. A lot of these newspaper columnists have never broken a story in their lives - they just offer up an opinion, which isn't difficult. And the priority for them every time they take to their keyboard is self preservation. They're probably on good money but will be anxious that their editors can easily replace them with cheaper options. So they have to try to say something punchy while also not rocking the boat. Perfect example is Sheridan/Wagner coverage. Sheridan is easy prey for them - they can call for him to be hung drawn and quartered without any potential for a meaningful backlash. So they look punchy and outspoken. Switch to a famous manager though, in charge of a famous club - and they won't have a cut off him unless their editor tells them to. That's a bit sad and pathetic - but that's how it goes.
  8. Or "I wanted a cool present off Shez for Christmas but all I got was this f*****g t-shirt"
  9. Seeing my favourite ever player score for Latics in the Premier League, with my dad (RIP) in a packed Chaddy End, chanting "he's got no hair but we don't care, Andy Andy Richie!" - happiest and magical moment from my youth I'll always cherish - hence the name.
  10. Johnson won't be out of work long if he gets the sack. He manages himself better than he manages any squad.
  11. I'm much more excited about my once or twice a year trip to Oldham for Latics V Millwall on February 25th now... if we go down we go down with a fight.
  12. Never a dull moment at Latics - until kick-off.
  13. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if we brought nobody in.
  14. I'd be delighted with this - I'd rather be in League 2 with Sheridan if he can't sort out another miracle.
  15. Thanks for everything OWTB guys - for "exiles" like me this site is vital for staying in touch and keeping up to date. I'm broke after Christmas but will sling a few quid your way once my next pay cheque rolls in (don't embargo me!!!)
  16. Just wondering BP, after our last league game you were leaning towards sticking with Robinson. Still feel that way tonight? Me, I don't think a change of manager will magically fix anything - but things can't get much worse.
  17. And all the while, hundreds of those few left who turn up on Saturday decide to stay home or in the pub instead - and who could blame them.
  18. I tend to ask this a lot these days - but is there even any rumour that he might go? I can't see us sack him due to not being able to pay him off, so it'd have to be him walking... Any iota of of sign that might happen? Not that anybody could save us now...
  19. Mainly - or massively - it is you who are getting there, and thank you for that. You have taken on this task, and what a difficult one it is - bring as diplomatic as possible with Latics fans while preparing to interview Simon Corney. You aren't a journalist (I am presuming...) yet I bet the answers you generate through your editing and interviewing will be picked up by many publications. What ever comes of it, it will certainly be of huge interest to me, so thank you for taking on a unique job. I'll definitely buy you a pint next time I'm over.
  20. Maybe Ronald McDonald could get the best out of this bunch...
  21. Chron reports that players will no longer be served breakfast or lunch at the club as a punishment for poor performances. They'll have to sort their own food from now on.
