  1. Nazon is allergic to passing. A threat when he gets the ball but not a team player at all. Wellens has been bemoaning a lack of width so half expecting Nepomuceno to start on Saturday
  2. He did have a bad injury, that’s why he was out of the Preston side, why we were able to get him on loan and why he is struggling to get back to where he was a few years ago
  3. I’m clinging onto the belief that if the pitch had held up, the training facilities also and the uncertainty with the return of loan players etc we would have continued in the rich vein of form we were in for a lot longer than we did and the season would have turned out completely different. Weve had absolutely zero momentum this season and you need to maintain that to get anywhere e.g Shrews and Plymouth. I would like us to stick by Wellens and see how he goes next season. I think if we were in this position this time next season he would have walked by now if not pushed
  4. Can see Richie bringing in 2 new centre halves in the summer. Bryan will get a championship club and got a feeling he’ll want more pace than Gerrard has. I like Fane but the way I see it, you wouldn’t feel comfortable playing him and Byrne in the middle together but you would play Byrne in a two with Rohan Ince at Bury for example.
  5. Once safe I’d love Wellens to give a run of games to Tom Hamer and especially Ryan Scholes-Beard. Scholes reminds me on Wes Hoolahan and I consider him a real talent
  6. Shocking. Pace of the game took him by surprise. He’s overweight and his fitness is still way off. I think he’ll struggle to get into the side as he won’t be fit enough to play on the wing - that’s not his style anyway and Wellens will always be two up top from now on and rightly so
  7. Had a feeling we’d win when their early dominance didn’t produce anything. The pitch wasn’t great, Pringle offered absolutely nothing, he isn’t dynamic enough to play on the wing. Moimbe is quite quick but scares the hell out of me when he’s in our penalty box, dallies a hell of a lot. McEleney is so far off the pace it’s scary, he needs to lose some weight and get used to the pace of the game. I’d start building to the first game of next season with him. Byrne came alive when Doyle got on the pitch, grafted his arse off to. If we are able to sign Doyle next season - he 100% would choose us over any other league 1 team if money wasn’t an issue - then him and Doyle could easily fire us towards the playoffs
  8. Sure was, every time they attacked they looked like scoring. Been wary of them ever since!
  9. I still shudder at the 5-3 defeat under David Dunn...
  10. That wasn’t an easy choice. He should have hit the target admittedly but he is still an asset
  11. The bobble was unfortunate. We let Nazon off with his shot against Bradford so we can do the same with Holloway
  12. And what a massive question it is. I think he’s turning out to be very dodgy, especially on shots taken quickly. He’s very unorthodox and the only time I feel comfortable is with strikes from distance
  13. All players grafted yesterday and all put a shift in. Can’t see him losing the dressing room anytime soon even if we keep on losing
  14. I’d rather Hamer and then Dummigan on the wing. Dummigan should be playing on the ring, he’s horrendous defensively but good going forward, is direct, will take people on and is intelligent
  15. I’ve been a fan for a while now but he’s lost his man for a fair few goals lately. Teams don’t necessarily need a Fane in the side, someone like Stephens when he was here would be ace. Even someone like Matty Lund who’s gone from Rochdale To bradford on loan would be an improvement and someone Byrne would prefer to play with
  16. Thats true. I think Wellens then realised these players can’t maintain a high level of performance. I guess this explains why they are in League 1. I can’t help think that if he was being Mr Positive, we’d all be saying he’s deluded and/or lying. Then when he calls it as he sees it we give him grief too.
  17. McLaughlin shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting lineup. He will go with Davies and Nazon up front Saturday as Bradford play 3 centre halves.
  18. As opposed to having players thrust on him by the chairman? Players whose wages reduce the budget available for players Wellens wants. Any manager who is at a club for a few years will be able to build a starting XI that he wants. Wellens has only been here half a season so without doubt has players he wouldn’t necessarily play if he had other options. It’s not difficult to have a training pitch in good condition and there’s an ever increasing number of clubs in our league whose pitches hold up through the winter. If we relaid our pitch this summer which it’s well documented needs to happen, we would be able to play the way Wellens wants us to, hopefully with players he feels can do what he asks.
  19. I don’t disagree. He probably thought French 2nd division players could do well in the English 3rd division and he’s sorely mistaken
  20. Touché, but you know what I mean. A Wellens team full of players he wants on a proper playing surface both in games and training would easily be top half bordering on the play offs. However therein lies the problem in that it’s doubtful he will ever get those circumstances
  21. I expect it’s purely because of the money that’s now in the Championship, a league with the 4th highest average attendance in Europe and being one league away from it.
  22. How about because Wellens hasn’t tried to sign a foreign player, every player he has wanted has been British or Irish. Every foreign player who has come to the club since he’s been here has been brought in by AL and not him. Yes he’s played some of them but Placide only because the other two were dire. Nepo has fallen out of favour as time has gone on and he didn’t rate Menig. foreigners are not negative it’s just they ones we have aren’t very good and the manager seems to want players who aren’t foreign
