  1. Are you talking about the Celtic game? He made his debut off the bench the week before
  2. Still wish he wouldn’t ask the same old questions in Interviews and essentially answer his own questions. Very tiresome. On a related note, Roy’s obvious disdain for Gardner is pathetic. Amongst other things, what kind of commentator/fan says before a free kick is taken that he thinks it will end up in row Z? The bloke needs to give up gracefully and go and sit with the fellow moaners in the George Hill upper
  3. Won’t stop a fair few on here thinking we should be steam rolling everybody though
  4. Swindon looked good against Yeovil. They’ve a couple of very decent loan players from premiership teams, old wily Marc Richards up front and Diagouraga who dominated us for Plymouth. far from an easy game
  5. Moimbe signs for the team bottom of the French 2nd division who’ve lost all 7games so far. On 29/9, they play Sochaux so he will be up against Tope Obadeyi.
  6. Branger is a lot more effective at home than away. I’m looking forward to Dummigan coming back and playing on the right.
  7. Byrne debuts off the bench. Killie fans impressed
  8. Doyle took the piss....dearly me. That spell when Wellens came in up until Christmas was the best football I’ve seen Oldham play in many many years. I would even say the football at the end of last season was more enjoyable than this season but that’s because I prefer quality over results
  9. That game shows the difference when you have two mobile pacey strikers closing down from the front. Defenders get a free pass when they’re facing O’Grady as they get all the time in the world. Surridge and Lang is without the best front pairing
  10. It’s not surprising, problem was rumour and conjecture on this board grew more and more legs and people started to believe it
  11. Exactly what I had and what Luke Shaw had. He’ll get better treatment than I will and not as good as what Shaw got
  12. He does because he’s the only one prepared to make something happen and try and play intricately and between the lines. I’n sure he could do the backwards, sideways and hoofs up field that others do but the guy has been a winger all his career before us and is comfortable with the ball at his feet. He’s having to do it all at the minute. It’s also difficult as a central midfielder when your defence is long balling everything and your constantly watching it go over your head and having to sprint to get in a position to try and pickup the second ball. Then when you do get on the ball your more knackered than you normally would be, this coupled with the fact that technical players like Gardner are loathe to pass the ball to a lesser player for fear they’ll lose it or just pump it down the line, sort of explains why he gives the ball away a fair bit. Stick Baxter in there with him when he’s fit and the whole dynamic will change. Clarke, Hunt and Edmundson will stop hoofing it I guarantee
  13. I just think we were very lucky to win that game, very lucky indeed. Chuffed we won but everything went our way which won’t happen very often
  14. O’Grady is dog shit, absolute dog shit. You’ll all see how poor he is in a months time.
  15. It’s been said that anything that comes before the word ‘but’ is meaningless.
  16. Good to have you onboard especially after this post. I wholeheartedly agree as well, Baxter and Gardner are both clever players. The one time they linked up resulted in a passage of play that ended up with Gardner hitting the post. when Baxter is fit I’d have no qualms about him and Gardner in a two. Baxter played there for Sheff U and when you realise that in this league Ollie Banks and Paul Green are both playing in a midfield two then why the hell not!
  17. He couldn’t last season to be fair, ran his bollocks off tracking back even if he didn’t make a tackle
  18. Watching tonight you couldn’t help but imagine the difference he would have made. They really are cutting off their nose to spite their face. I read Jermaine Pennants autobiography the other day on the plane and as much as he was an idiot and up to no good all the time (which Byrne isn’t I might add), irrespective of all that when he got on the pitch it was all about the football. I can’t help but think it would be the same with Byrne. Everything is on the edge with him but that’s the way it’s always going to be otherwise he wouldn’t be half the player he is, he almost has to be that way given how small he is
  19. Thought Lang looked very quick when he came on, admittedly he got caught offside twice. This league is terrible and it really wouldn’t take much tweaking to comfortably be top 3. Gardner is having to do it all in the middle so it’s understandable it isn’t always going to come off. Bunn is caught between a rock and a hard place because if you had a good enough midfield you could play the intricate football that would negate the need for a ‘target man’. As it is we play too much long ball and given the size of the centre halves we’ve been up against thus far you can understand even if you don’t agree with it why he plays O’Grady and or Miller. Baxter playing between the lines along with Gardner driving at the opposition and playing through through balls to two young, agile strikers already proven in this league in Surridge and Lang is undoubtably the way to go but I don’t think the other players can be used in a way that would enable us to this.
  20. Think in normal circumstances Wellens would do a good job. I rate the guy. He was looking for ways to improve our players as well, remember him saying he was going to play Hamer in centre mid to improve his footwork
  21. If this isn’t a cricket score I’ll be amazed
  22. You’d think he could pass comment on whether we’re signing a player who has been training with us and signing autographs though.
  23. My opinion right or wrong is that Bunn is a yes man who’s that happy at getting his first managers role at 55 that he will do exactly what Lemsagem tells him. This no comment lark as an example is embarrassing. i dear the worst if we go 3/4 games without a win again
  24. Joe Mills, Carl Winchester and to a lesser extent Gavin Gunning. At anything resembling our strongest lineup id fancy us to roll these but watching the MK game back on Ifollow, we’re poor and play a lot of hoofball so not confident at all.
  25. Deane Smalley has been on trial at Chester. They don’t have budget to sign any more players though
