  1. there is a chris hall in the cast but i only watched the last 5 mins to see him... i didnt
  2. after that performance, we dont deserve to be re-entered and accrington need it more than us
  3. just a reality check for all you pessimists out there: - sheridan is the manager at chesterfield and has a contract there - sheridan lost control of the dressing room and results declined from there - sheridan did well but he IS NOT going to come back and everyone calling for his return will regret it if he ever does we have had some bad results but dave penney is changing the way we play and even though we have not played well, you can see that we are starting to get there. anyone calling for a new managers head after SIX games needs to be checked by a doctor. what use would a new manager do? he'd change it all over again, bring in more players and disrupt the team even more and THEN we'd get relegated like everyone is predicting.
  4. finally, some optimism (of sorts) i dont think we will get relegated but we wont challenge for the play offs either. you've got it spot on with the bit in bold so people need to get behind the team
  5. just looking at the sky sports live score centre and i see dale stephens got an equaliser for rochdale after they went 3-0 down. this should do alot for his confidence.
  6. after SIX games?! are you mad? he's brought in alot of players and they're taking their time to gel. yes, some of these results are getting concerning but if you want continuity and results, sacking the manager is not the way to go. penney is good in his interviews and i think he is the man to take us forward. give him some time, get behind the team and KEEP THE FAITH
  7. this is make or break for o'grady now. if he does ok, penney may keep him on as back up but if he stuffs up, he'll be out of the club asap. i think he'd fit in at dale, from what i saw on tues, they need a striker who can hold it up and play dagnall in but can also pose a threat to the goal. not sure if he'll do the second bit but if he can, he might do ok.
  8. This will probably work for both sides as they need a striker and we dont want ogrady. league two is his level and a loan until january can only work out well
  9. thats just ridiculing our own players. i thought the whole point of chants was to get behind the team, not take the piss out of our own players (opposing players are fine though)
  10. Lewi has gone to Chester for a month and Nick Blackman has signed from Blackburn for a month. Thoughts?
  11. thats why i went, wembley is a great stadium so any excuse
  12. with gary jones and jason nkennedy, they may as well send him back becuase those two were solid and rarely gave the ball away
  13. i was listening to BBC Radio Manchester tonight to keep up with the scores (aka the Man City show) and heard something about a show with Joe Royle on coming up soon. I heard 'talks about his life and things football' and '6.00pm' and followed by... something else football related. quite vague, i know but can anyone help as i wouldnt mind listening to that
  14. i went to the rochdale - cheltenham game tonight as latics were away and i was quite impressed with the standard of play. dale were very unlucky to concede a 89th min goal and both teams will no doubt be up there at the end of the season. onto my point for this topic, dale had a couple of latics connections playing - marcus holness who played very well (apart from giving the ball to cheltenham for their goal), scott spencer (could have won it for dale) and dale stephens who was on the bench. thought id share this and if anyone has an afternoon/evening free when latics are away, go down to dale as the atmosphere was cracking
  15. i thought maher played for gillingham? as for hudders, they are us last season - a great start but whether they'll keep it up, we'll have to wait and see
  16. i suppose thats good for latics if we want a chance of promotion as lambert has arranged a team there and had a great start but now him and his staff have gone, jacksons gone to notts county and someone else is wanted i think so they will be mid-table i think.
  17. we havent got any decent centre halves in a way. gregan and hazell are both great on their day but both make mistakes like orients goal on sat
  18. challenge match is what you say i think as when i went to the sunderland game, thats what they were calling it. i think the development squad is the reserve team for the reserves to fit in all these hungarians from that team we have a link with (+ steer and opajah) because the reserves would be too big?
  19. was it just me or did anyone else notice the play on words in the title - "BREAKING injury news"
  20. not bad and its the sort of chant right after he scores and the others for after that if anyone gets what im on about?
  21. brilliant, not relevant to latics at all but that is genius p.s. whats the abbott chant again?
  22. after county thrashed bradford 5-0 last week with hughes scoring a hat-trick, a county-supporting relative took it upon himself to phone me to thank us for hughes and thompson. (hughes for obvious reasons and thompson appears to have found his form there) just thought id share
  23. it's inevitable that some sort of clarificatation will be brought in, it has to. having 2 more assistants wont work as an incident like this only ever happens every few games. i think if the fourth official is given the power to look at a monitor for all decisions and tell the referee, that will be fine. football wont be anything without controversy and this is a simple solution to stop awful decisions like those on saturday from happening. it doesnt have to be goal line decisions but offsides, red & yellow cards, penalties etc.
  24. i like it! and itll make amends for the wembley chant that we probably wont sing...
