  1. i think oldham will finish from 5th to 15th (i'll say 9th) and im not sure who will go up and down. its too early to speculate but if current form carries on... charlton hudds colchester leeds scum oldham norwich (too good for mid-table) stockport wycombe hartlepool carlisle
  2. who's fault was the orient goal? it sounded like a defensive/keeper mix up on latics player but overall good performance i think
  3. 1-1 defensive/'keeper mix up, what a surprise
  4. its going on and off for me but when its stopped for a longer time, i just turned it off and on again and it started again.
  5. I had an idea the other day that as we have a spare stand, why not have it for standing? tickets would be cheap and it would compensate for having at least three years with only scaffolding on that side. not sure if there are any rules but carlisle have a stand with standing running along the bottom and three stands on top. surely its worth at least a look?
  6. shez is at chesterfield, who lost away at torquay on saturday
  7. this is just showing off! saying that though, he wasnt going to get games at city so he might as well get alot of money and first-team games as oppose to just alot of money
  8. maybe he did something else before they lost to colchester? timing is wierd though, as has been said, 1 game in, they won 4-0 in midweek and they have a game tomorrow. welcome to league one, norwich
  9. i generally think of leyton orient as a 'small club' (not that oldham are a 'big' club!) that finish around the relegation places but it think they've started well and sound like theyve signed some good players so maybe they could have a good season and be the surprise package. good luck to them.
  10. my dad went on holiday to africa and came across something like the zimbabwean oldham athletic fan club! not too sure it was zimbabwe but you get the idea. there were only about 5 of them too.
  11. agree, we can have a good season, the question is, whether we will
  12. thats definately one to sing on a cold tuesday night and we're losing 0-3 to someone.
  13. it sounds like the exact opposite from pre-season. how did :censored: and gilbert get on? mainly gilbert
  14. its all well and good saying we need all of these players but we have brought in around 12 players I think and we need to give them time to gel. we have 5 strikers so i dont think we'll be seeing any more of those. maybe another winger if taylor goes but in my opinion, i think its unlikely he'll go to leeds as they may be seen as competition to us so the management wont want to let him go and he's an oldham lad
  15. thanks for that, ideal for those who couldnt make the game today. sounds like we will play some good football this season but also we need to be careful at the back.
  16. well that shows who went and who didnt. how did :censored: and gilbert get on? i saw they played at right and left back
  17. 2 fans chucked their season tickets at the manager! i bet norwich dont lose another game all season now...
  18. couldnt get to the game and was quite annoyed at 3.00pm when i knew i wasnt there but following the game on the local radio, i was quite glad. there was alot of hype and expectation building up to the game so it was inevitably going to be 0-0. lets hope they can get better for the carlisle game in midweek and have a successful season.
  19. is anyone else annoyed that they 'only won 'cos of sven'? its the managers team and tactics and for him, its a lose, lose situation because if they do well, well done sven and if they do badly its the managers fault. back to hughes, though, i wouldnt be surprised if he was the divisions top scorer
  20. it was one of the two and i knew id get it wrong... thanks for the amendments to all
  21. so we have brought in alot of new faces over the summer and even though some of them are 'for the future' and on short term contracts, im unsure over the positions of the players. i believe we will have alot of depth this season also. the signings i know - brill/polish guy with long name we signed on short term deal - keeper holdsworth - RB/Midfield worthington/furman - CM abbott/parker/byfield - ST steer/jacobson - LB/LM the signings im not too sure about - purdie - ??? utility, i know but where does he play best? opajah/gilbert/mckerr - defence? :censored: - RB/Midfield? thanks in advance, i like to know who we have for cover. we definately need some CBs and a couple more full backs to be sure also, what is the fee we have for eardley? any clauses? do we owe wrexham any money?
  22. ill say 3-1. even though we cant defend for our lives at the moment, stockport arent doing well and havent brought in any noteable new faces.
  23. a new full back?! or michael mckerr who we signed from birmingham. if its the first then he'd better be able to play in central defence.
  24. totally agree there. there has been so much negativity on here with people saying we'll get relegated or we're not good enough. i beg to differ. there is obviously work to be done but we have 90% of a good squad here and i think we will do well.
  25. i like lomax but i think he's like marmite to the fans - you either love him or hate him
