  1. Not disputing that Main and Holloway have improved us, Main reminds me of Warne, never gives the ball up and Holloway is what Cassidy should've been. Playing them up front together isn't working though and won't cos their qualities don't include bagging the goals we'll need to stay up and ultimately that's what is going to cost us.
  2. You need a certain level of performance to get points though and unless we improve dramatically we'll struggle to get enough to stay up. Rochdale won't be as inept as Blackpool were that's for sure.
  3. We need goals Gaz and imo Murphy would've provided them. We're not going to be smashing teams by 3 or 4 so someone who can convert chances is vital and likely to be the difference between staying up and not. From what I've seen neither Main nor Holloway can do that. Sheridan is gambling on Thiele being a better option than Murphy was. I hope he's proved right.
  4. I think you're getting me confused with someone else pal. Dunn's gone, get over it.
  5. You can't know that. He's the only player on the books who can score goals and that's exactly what we need to stay up. Effective as they are, Main and Holloway aren't going to provide them. And can we expect to see Mills and Winchester pitch up at Kingsmeadow this weekend then?
  6. Holloway cos he caused their defence problems all game. Special mention for Brian Wilson though - he's a proper pro, does a job wherever he's asked to play and is why he's still earning a living from the game. He puts Mills to shame.
  7. Spot on, it was dire at times. We need to improve a lot and rapid cos we won't be playing anyone as :censored:e as Blackpool again this season. When did we sack the fitness coach?
  8. To the tune of 'Ernie' You can hear the groans abound as the balls launched out the ground, and the tremor in the pitch as his fists they duly pound, another chance blazed skywards, another sitter missed, yep Curtis Main's up front again no wonder I get pissed. Now Curtis has a rival for his shots that go astray, a bloke from Wycombe's second team called Amadi-Holloway. Twelve games they've played between them and they've yet to find the net, but Philly bagged us seven and he'll score tonight I bet Our strikers aren't producing, they just cannot score a goal, and with Philly and Rhys Murphy gone we're in a massive hole. But Shez will be our saviour, he's found a kraut to score, one single goal in twenty five is why we'll still be bottom four.
  9. Yea cos we're blessed with fighters throughout this team aren't we? Part of the reason we're where we are in the League is cos we have too many players who don't give a :censored:, though shipping out the only striker we have who can score goals and replacing him with two who can't is another reason.
  10. You could waste the next 6 months of your life trying to explain it to him.
  11. I was at that game too. 5-0!! and as you say, magnificent was the word that day and their manager did indeed get sacked after the match, Billy McKewen. Don't think he managed again.
  12. Apart from when it comes to signing strikers who can score.
  13. On the basis of his career goalscoring record so far...
  14. Whereas Oxford by and large produces such paragons of virtue as Edward Heath, Thatcher, Johnson & Osborne. And why is being homosexual worth mentioning?
  15. err that might be the one I've got cos it's definitely got a white collar. If you don't get sorted let me know and I'll have a look tomorrow.
  16. I've got a blue with a white stripe cotton shirt with a collar - not sure what decade it's from though. It's not an original I hasten to add but your welcome to borrow it if it's of any use. Please don't wash it though cos Chris Taylor signed it in Legends a few years ago
  17. It's only a theory cos surprisingly the government didn't come out and admit they were aware of, and tolerated if not condoned, the fact that the establishment is riddled with pedophiles and that they were going to be imminently exposed by a highly reputable journalist which couldn't be allowed to happen so she was bumped off. I'm sure there'll be making a statement anytime though acknowledging this. And please don't tell me you believe the official version of 911, dear me.
  18. Spot on this. The very dodgy Cliff Richard was friends with Dando and was allegedly complicit in her murder by informing Savile of her proposed expose. Savile also spent 11 (eleven) consecutive Christmas's at Thatcher's private residence. You wouldn't get within a mile of the PM without top level security clearance and given the rumours and feelings from his colleagues that he was a wrong un it's stretching belief that the vetting gave him the all clear. I wonder what they had in common?
  19. Mentioned it once on here. Ever. And scoring 3 goals away against a side in the top 3 wasn't a fluke pal.
  20. Will he still have been an excellent appointment if we go down?
  21. Okay boys - First of all I wasn't talking Sheridan down, he was one of the best I've ever seen in an Oldham shirt, my criticisms wern't personal towards him. What bugged me was the reaction when his appointment was announced which was on a par with the return of the Messiah when 99% of posters here at the time were happy he was sacked. He was brought back due, in part, to his personal circumstances requiring a move back to the North West, but mainly as a sop by Corney in an attempt to appease fans and deflect from the controversy over the club's financial situation. I don't believe for one second the board sat down and considered a list of suitable replacements for Dunn, of whom Sheridan was considered the best option. If we do go down then very few fans will blame Sheridan, (and by extention the board) whereas if we'dve been relegated under Dunn the reaction would have been toxic and the board's intentions regarding the club would've (rightly) come under increased scrutiny and maybe forced their hand regarding their commitment to the playing side. Results have improved sure, but they usually do at any club appointing a new manager mid-season. From what I've seen though I'm not sure we're good enough to stay up. There's been no improvement in half the team imo and ultimately our lack of forwards who can score and the fact our keeper regularly gifts goals will do for us and Sheridan hasn't addressed these deficiencies which were obvious to most fans. And like you nonaenever I well remember Glen Keeley - shockng- but he also somehow scored a worldy when he was here, dribbling Messi-like and slotting home in front of the Chaddy end. I know I'm in a tiny minority but I thought Dunn would've kept us up. I'm not sure Sheridan will. Respect your arguments though and it's all opinions innit.
  22. Found not guilty on one count, jury still deciding on the other. He won't be doing time methinks.
  23. The post I responded to stated the second half last night was way better than anything under Dunn, which is utter nonsense. Why would anyone even say that unless it's blind loyalty to Sheridan? Recruit decently? Gerrard and Palmer yea, Main and Holloway were brought in as strikers and haven't managed a goal between them so thats 50% decent recruits. Dunn brought Dummigan, Lafferty and Higdon in. As for getting an extra 20% out of everyone, I assume your exempting Coleman, Kelly, Jones, Murphy & Mills from that assertion?
